Our group of five had an exceptional stay at Karen's castle and I cannot recommend it more! We had nearly the entire castle to ourselves, save for the wings where Karen and her family live. We had five beds across two spotless, cosy bedrooms and a large bathroom with a bathtub, complete with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. The...

As a family we were keen to experience staying in a castle. On arrival we were greeted by Karen the owner who showed around our spacious accommodation. We were slightly late and she was very good about it. We had the full use of several reception rooms including a library, tv room or the big drawing room with its large...

I've visited Ireland four times in as many years, and I always book a few nights at Kilcolgan Castle. Most recently, my entire family came along, including our three kids. They loved exploring the castle's many rooms, checking out the grounds, and playing with the dogs. I enjoyed retreating to the cozy sitting room, and reading by the fire. As...

We really enjoyed staying in a castle while in Ireland! It's close to Galway, and the countryside there is just beautiful. Karen was kind enough to make dinner reservations for us at an amazing restaurant, where we had delicious drinks and seafood. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at The castle - the grounds are beautiful and our host, Karen, was very friendly and welcoming. We spent a lovely night in beside the fireplace reading up on the history of the grounds and the castle itself and searching through the library - so much history here . Our host also arranged a nice dinner...

I wish I had packed my tiara. This place was fantastic and the owner was very welcoming. All the rooms we could hang out in made me want to move every ten minutes, but we chose the library. It was so cool to have options in this beautiful location. The view from the bedroom was gorgeous. Walking around the grounds...

Stayed one night in the castle. Karen was wonderful. Met us at the door when we arrived. We had full access to the main floor rooms. Almost too much room for 5 ladies staying one night. We did not cook in the kitchen although we did have full access and it was stocked. We had a great time reading about...

During our trip to Ireland, we wanted to stay at a Castle, and the Kilcolgan Castle certainly fit the bill! The host (Karen) was wonderful! She was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The original castle itself dates back to the 11th century, with additions in the 1800's. The history of the Castle is very interesting and is...

My two friends and I booked a night at Kilcolgan Castle through AirBnB and it was the highlight of our road trip across Ireland! The grounds are absolutely amazing - situated on a sleepy river complete with chickens, horses, and very friendly dogs. The castle itself is stunning, with some parts of it dating back to the 11th century! But...

My family and I loved getting to know Karen, her animals, and the beautiful grounds of Kilcolgan Castle during our two-night stay. Grizzly, Karen's collie, is a blast and loved playing catch or racing us from the castle to the stables. Karen also introduced us to her stunning and loving greyhounds. We especially enjoyed spending some time at the pony...
