Stayed in a single room. Could barely open my luggage without hitting a wall, the bed or window. Dated furniture, bed and dressings. Carpet had not been vacuumed in what looked like months. Bathroom light was out, wet cloth left on window sill, light outside...More

Both my husband and I stayed at Egan's for one night in June.....and I can honestly say that I've never ever felt strongly enough about any location either good or bad to write a review as I feel after leaving Egan's. And I'm sorry to...More

Thank you for your review and especially for your nice comments about the staff. The recession has not hit us as hard as many Dublin guesthouses/hotels. Business is up nearly 20% for the first 6 months of 2012 as compared to the same period in...More

We stayed in the family room (slept 7 with a roll-away) for our two days in Dublin. The staff was friendly, the WiFi worked downstairs but not in our room, the breakfast was very nice and bountiful. The room was clean and the beds comfortable....More

Thank you for your very nice comments. There is unfortunately no elevator but we always help guests with their luggage if they request it, or if it is obvious that they might have difficulty. Hope to see you again.

We love Egans. Staying here for two prior visits with a third one booked. The rooms have each been unique and comfortable. The full Irish Breakfast is just that. All of the people we've depended on at the House for maps, taxis, bus, and venturing...More

We booked two rooms at this hotel/B&B for a quick one night stay in Dublin. The staff were extremely helpful in recommending nearby places to eat and giving us maps of the city marked up with places to visit. The rooms were clean and basic....More

Your lovely review is really appreciated. There is almost never any problem parking immediately outside the guesthouse on the street and it is free. On only two days every year is it very hard to get local parking and that is for the hurling and...More

Walking into the city centre takes about 20 Minutes. Not sure how much a taxi would cost.

I think the City Centre Hotels like Jury's Inn may be a better option to be honest at that time of year for the sake of a few euros per person and you are at the centre of things whereas Egans is a bus ride away
