I have driven past this hotel countless times and always wondered what it was like.. Stayed this week and met with friendly welcome. Loads parking which makes life easy. Room was downstairs but nice and large. Had a couple of drinks in the bar in the evening and some food which was well priced. Overall very impressed and will be...

The previous night we stayed at a large hotel in the centre of Dublin, so the small cosy atmosphere at the Schoolhouse was refreshing. The rooms are of a good size and decorated in a period style. We had a problem with the water but the staff dealt with it quickly and with consideration for the inconvenience it was to...

We had a group of us of about 60 for a private dinner. The staff were excellent and stayed on after the coffee had been served to see if there were any more requests. A choice of hake or chicken and both wet very good. Brownies (could have been nicer) or rhubarb dessert. Two asked for fruit and were pleasantly...

The Schoolhouse is an old property but very well located in the embassy precinct within walking distance of Dublin's main commercial centre. Great place from which to start our daily excursions to the golf courses. Rooms are all named after Irish poets and writers and whilst old, are quite comfortable - lack of cupboard space was a bit of a...

Stayed for 1 night on business. You certainly get the schoolhouse feel and effect. Was given a downstairs room which was grudgingly changed as it was too dim with little light (i have bad eyes). Bathroom was quite cosy but the shower made up for it. My only gripe with the rooms was that the beds are 2 twins pushed...

I've stayed here numerous times. The Hotel is still nice. The staff here do everything they can with the product they have. Breakfast is nice, its lovely to see the same faces every time we go back. Food in the bar is good. The rooms are comfortable however they could do with a little investment at this stage. I will...

A delightful little hotel in central Dublin. About 20 minutes walk from the centre but right on the canal walk. Well equipped rooms, lively bar and good food in the restaurant. Friendly staff who made me very welcome

What a unique Hotel, a former School converted to Hotel rooms. Our room was both spacious and comfortable although a little in need of refurbishment, bath was badly stained and the woodwork in need of attention. Bed and sleep experience was first class, clean and fresh sheets, king size bed plus tea and coffee. Internet was fast and free parking...

Dear Spithead, Thank you for reviewing your stay here at The Schoolhouse Hotel. It is great to hear that you had a 'first class' nights sleep. We are working on the woodwork in all rooms and are hoping to be finished by early 2017. I hope to see you again, Kind Regards, Rory Doyle

This hotel is very charming and original! Located a bit far away from city center though (30' by walking but still doable), the neighborhood is very quiet, rooms are spacious, very good shower and very charming. We loved the decoration kind of old school. Staff was also very nice and you have access to a parking. We had the room...

I'm late writing my review. We stayed here twice this year and had an excellent experience both times! The staff was so friendly and accommodating!
