Detailed Reviews
We stayed one night at the uppercross hotel the hotel is good the restrictions were adhered to. But the room was not cleaned properly the skirting boards were covered in dust and there was a hair on the end of the bath. We are in strange times and we most definitely expect hotel rooms to be cleaned thoroughly and checked. My friend and I went around the room with disinfectant wipes to clean it when we arrived.
The breakfast was amazing cooked perfectly and so fresh. However the Indian guy who was there serving us was not in any kind of uniform he was wearing tracksuit bottoms sandals and a jumper this I found very strange. I certainly don’t believe this is following any haccp regulations.

+1
We spent five night at the Uppercross House Hotel. The room was just right for us. Good size. Nice comfortable bed (there was a queen sized bed and also a twin size in our room). Very clean and got attention daily from the staff.
The location is in Rathmines. We walked most places, so plan on about a twenty minute walk to most locations south of the river (around Trinity College / Temple Bar area). Easy walk with several places to stop and get food or drink on the way. A taxi will cost about $15 Euro and the bus is $3 Euro.
Mother Reilly’s Pub is attached to the hotel and it is a GREAT PUB and restaurant. Highly recommend by us. Food was great. Drinks were great. Atmosphere was great.
Don’t miss the breakfast provided at this hotel. Very enjoyable meal every morning. Staff was excellent.

The Uppercross house hotel in Dublin
For two nights prior to our cruise on July 24, 2023 we scheduled The Uppercross House Hotel located on 23-32 Upper Rathmines Rd, Dublin 6. Hotel selection was based on proximity to the cruise terminal. We were allowed into the room at noon.
Hotel not offering transfers from the Dublin airport (DUB) to the hotel and taxi fare was 40 euro + tip. Room was clean, with Queen bad and double bad. We arrived to hotel at 12:20 pm and they allowed us in the room where prep work was just completed.
To get to the reception one needs to go through steps and it might present an issue for visitors with heavy luggage or mobility issues. So, before stepping in ask receptionist how to get inside through the car parking area.
Hotel also provided safe, electric tea pot with selection of teas and coffees.
The breakfast is included with the room charges and they provided very good hot and cold breakfast selections.
It was a good two nights stay prior to our cruise to Norway.

Stayed here for 1 night new years day. Read previous reviews to coming here, but it did not stand up to the recommendations of positivity. Even though the place was clean, it lacked charactor and was very overpriced. As we had a dog, we found it difficult to find dog friendly hotels in Ireland. We were placed in a back room, which was closterphobic and had no view. For what we paid it was not good and we were travelling in the morning to the ferry and we had a breaskfast bag, which was below standard. Also in the morning we saw a cute little mouse in the hallway. Disapointed.

I am a Dubliner who lives in London. I return home to see family quite a lot and I've now found a new more ideal place to stay - it ticks all the boxes! So close to taxi rank to take you into town, also served my local buses. City Centre is a 30 minute walk if you fancy a stroll. The rooms have an essence of homliness (very 20th century;) but the artwork is fab! Excellent shower, marvellous breakfast. The one thing you need to do is keep an eye on off season prices - the room per night price has risen and you can now compare prices with hotels closer to town (along Camden St) but if the price is right... go for it. A great place to stay. You won't regret it.

The Uppercross Hotel in the Rathmine’s area of Dublin is a fantastic boutique hotel to stay when you’re in Dublin. The hotel is in a beautifully renovated old character building, giving it a very comfortable atmosphere.
The room rates are very affordable, the service is excellent and there is a pub and restaurant in the hotel!
We stayed with our dog and were welcomed by the staff and enjoyed our stay immensely.
The neighborhood that the hotel is in has lots of pubs, restaurants and shopping opportunities, as well as movie theaters.
Would highly recommend!

Well Uppercross House is a 70s B&B masquerading as an hotel. Grossly overpriced at €220 a night (extra if you dont pay at the time of booking with booking.com). In fairness, given that part of the B&B would appear to be given over to immigrants, the rooms that are left are charged at a premium rate. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
You can easily get a bus into Dublin from Rathmines.

We stayed only one night but everything was great about the hotel. Staff very helpful to begin with. Amazing food both breakfast and late dinner. Lovely bar and restaurant. Free private parking at the back of the hotel. Lovely clean room and free fast WiFi. Within the 5 minutes walk from the hotel there’s a lot of nice restaurants, pubs, takeaways, shops and cinemas. Highly recommend. Definitely will come back for longer stay.

Comfortable hotel just off the main high street. Staff friendly and very helpful.
Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was plentiful, service was good but had to ask for a few small things like sugar, butter and a knife. Little things I know!
Hotel is pet friendly.
Free parking.
Some good pubs nearby and restaurants.

Heard back from Hotel. They have both lift and ground floor rooms. I did notice on TA reviews there are a small number of stairs to access different areas. That works for me but sounds like it may not be fully accessible if that's a need.
There are bus stops just across the road and a taxi rank.
The luas is not close.
It’s the other side of Dublin and quite a distance from Croke Park.
Take the bus in to O’Connell street and it’s about 15 min walk to Croke Park
No idea really but my wife is a vegetarian and they went out there way to help!
car park behind hotel. on the main road when you see lots of yellow cross hatching ie keep clear look at the hotel and you should see gap between the buildings.
