Detailed Reviews
Lovely central hotel with friendly staff. Some observations;
Rooms
The room and bed were very comfy and we had a great nights sleep. We didn’t find noise a big issue despite it being Saturday night. The bathroom was just ok. They’re very small but a few small changes would make a vast improvement. They really need a hook on the wall or back of the door for towels or your robe. A makeup mirror would be great and as mood lighting is something that’s pointed out as a room feature a separate switch for the small bathroom light should be available. It would be much nicer when you’re having a bath than the harsh overhead light. It was great that there were robes and a nespresso machine in the room. The snacks are a cute touch but pricy at 2 euro for a bag of crisps. I thought they were complimentary at first which would have been a really nice gesture.
Breakfast
Breakfast pricing was very confusing. We were advised at reception it was 12.50pp to book it at check in otherwise we would be charged 15pp on the day. We decided not to book it and order off their a la Carte breakfast menu which is displayed on their website. Then when we got to the room there was an option to book the breakfast for only 10pp if booked via the room app. Surely reception desk should have the same deal? When we arrived down for breakfast we were told you can’t order off a breakfast menu (despite it being on the website) as they don’t have one. We would have to pay 15pp for the buffet. So we ended up having to go back up to the room to book via the app for 10pp. It all seems a bit silly and confusing. Surely just set the price at 10pp if you’re a hotel guest? And either offer an a la Carte menu or take it off the website. Asides from that we had a lovely breakfast and the staff were very atttentive. There was a great selection, including gorgeous fried potatoes, and plenty of pastries and cereal options. You could also order an omelette or poached eggs from the kitchen. It was really good value at 10pp.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. We’ve stayed in The Beacon a number of times and much prefer their rooms and bathrooms. However for a city centre hotel this was perfect for us. We booked via Hotel Tonight and we would stay again for the right price.

My wife and I stayed at The Morgan for three nights, and everything from check in to the time we checked out was above expectations. The concierge staff was amazing. Upon my first arrival, David helped me park my car, which meant a lot to me considering I am an American and it was extremely awkward driving on the opposite side of the road in the opposite side of the car 🤣. That simple and small act within us being there for 10 minutes let me know that we are in the right place in Dublin. The room was always well kept, surprisingly very quiet giving that it is a block away from the temple bar, and the complimentary breakfast was the perfect way to start our days exploring Ireland. I would also like to note that the bar and it’s staff were one of the best that we had while in Dublin. We are from New Orleans and living in one of the mixology, craft cocktail capitals of the world, we were very impressed with the bar staff knowledge and expertise in making our drinks. They were very friendly and personable, they made us feel welcome and genuinely cared. We cannot recommend this hotel enough. It is the best value by far.

I spent a long weekend there with my boyfriend and had the most wonderful experience. Upon arrival we were greeted by super friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located in the heart of Temple bar so all of the shops of in Grafton Street are only moments away.
I was also really impressed by the interiors throughout Which are beautifully modern and impeccably clean. The upmost attention to detail was evident with face masks and hand sanitisers throughout the hotel ensuring that guests felt safe.
We loved the bar where the resident bartender will concoct an array of gourmet cocktails. Breakfast was delightful had some great vegetarian options for me. The room service also has a nice selection of well priced grub. I will definitely be coming back next time I’m in Dublin.

+1
We stayed for 3 nights. Our room was very pleasant but basic. Bed was comfy and the chaise longue was a nice touch.
The hotel itself is disappointing. It's hugely overpriced. Our room wasn't serviced at all during our stay so I had to resort to robbing toilet paper and toiletries from a trolley in the hallway. We have stayed in several hotels that have left bags with toilet paper, towels and toiletries at the door - The Morgan should consider doing this.
Breakfast was OK. I had scrambled eggs the first morning and hubby had the fry. Second morning I had the waffles with bacon. I was given 1 skinny piece of bacon cut into 3 pieces. I had also asked twice for a side of scrambled eggs which arrived along with my husbands toast when we had finished eating.
The lunch and dinner menus are very limited. The food is shockingly expensive and portions are tiny. We ate desserts because we were still hungry. On our 3rd night we went across the road to Thunder Road Cafe. Delicious food, plentiful portions and even with drinks worked out cheaper than the hotel.
There are signs EVERYWHERE relating to Covid - saying you're in safe hands. Unfortunately the staff of The Morgan seem to be unaware of them or what regulations they should be following.
When we arrived there was a small wedding party going on. Almost every guest approached the bar and was served, despite it being table service only. None of the guests wore face masks and weren't encouraged to do so. They passed our table to visit the toilets, each of them without a mask.
We observed members of staff hugging each other too.
Going down to breakfast each morning we went out of our way to travel in an elevator on our own. I don't know why we bothered as half of the other guests were welcomed without masks. They went to the juice/cereal table without masks. They walked around the hotel with no masks.
We won't be back. It was supposed to be a treat to stay here but there was absolutely nothing luxurious about our stay. I don't know why it has been given 4*. It certainly doesn't deserve it.

Responded 28 Jun 2021
Hello Adele M, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I would like to sincerely apologize that your stay did not live up to your expectations and that you think we fell short on some COVID19 protocols. I treat this very seriously. We accept and are open to your feedback and can assure you that we will use it to improve our services in the hotel. We are not used to receiving 1* reviews so I wanted to take the time to personally respond to you directly. In relation to the pricing on your room, we are competitively priced with other 4* hotels in the Dublin market. We look at what our competition are charging multiple times over the week and have placed our pricing in line with others. On check in, you should have been informed that service for bedrooms is on request. Whenever guests want the housekeeping team to come to the room we are delighted to do so. You can request service over the telephone and there is also a Suitepad in the room where you can request service too. In Pre-Covid times we serviced rooms on a daily basis but to reduce interaction between guests and staff we only service rooms on request. We also have prepared replenishment packs for each room that are safely packed in dry cleaning plastic for hygiene purposes. They can be delivered to our guest’s rooms at any times. This should have been explained to you as part of our COVID19 check-in brief. I am sorry if this didn’t occur. We have taken your feedback on board in relation to our Food & Beverage offering. I can also confirm that we are in the process of changing our menus in the hotel at the moment. I have discussed your comments with our Head Chef this morning on these issues to ensure they do not happen again. We place a high importance on breakfast in particular as it is a very important part of our guests stay so I was disappointed that you were not satisfied with yours. I accept that we opened with menus that are a bit more basic than ones we would have had in pre-covid times. In saying this, we still have 6 starters, 5 mains and 3 desserts on our evening restaurant menu, 11 options on our bar lunch menu and 8 options on our bar evening menu. Finally in relation to our COVID procedures. This was the most disappointing feedback for me to read as it is of such high importance to me and everyone in The Morgan Hotel at the moment. We have rolled out a COVID19 policy in every hotel in the MHL Hotel Collection. Internal audits are carried out on each property regularly to ensure that we are enforcing our procedures. We have also received the Failte Ireland COVID19 Safety Charter. I have taken note of the incidents that you have mentioned and will speak to the team to ensure that they do not occur. We inform all of our guests of the mask wearing rules and that we operate table service only. When people approach the bar, we politely ask them to return to their seats and then deliver drinks to them. We do our best to eliminate this without causing conflict with the customer. Based on your feedback, we will carry out some retraining with the team on the policies and the best ways to enforce them. Finally, I would just like to reiterate that we value your feedback and take it on board. I would really have welcomed the opportunity to discuss these items with you in person during your stay. If you would like to discuss anything further with me, please feel free to reach out to me directly on Sean.Sinclair@themorgan.com. A quick look at the other reviews for the hotel will show you that your feedback is an anomaly and is not the service that our guests have grown to love at the Morgan Hotel. Apologies and kind regards, Sean Sinclair General Manager The Morgan Hotel

Stayed here for two nights last weekend and every part of our stay was amazing. The hotel is in the best location imaginable for a city centre break in Dublin at Temple Bar, you don't have to go far in any direction to get anywhere you would need to go for shopping, bars and the main attractions.
The staff were the best I've ever seen of any hotel or other business for that matter. Informative, cordial, and always ready to help. All staff from reception, breakfast and the bar were outstanding and really made us feel like valued guests.
The room and especially the bathroom were superb. The boutique style really makes a difference and makes it feel more like a Spa than your usual hotel room.
Will definitely be back when staying in Dublin, on our checkout we also were given a voucher for 10% off our next stay! I usually take a branded pen from hotels where I had an amazing experience, unfortunately forgot this time so can't wait to get back and also take home a pen!!

My friend and I had a fabulous stay at The Morgan.. location is fantastic in Temple Bar but it’s the staff that made it special. From the minute we went in everyone was so friendly and helpful especially Dezirae, the front of house manager. Room were spotless and modern with everything you could wish for, including a variety of herbal teas and a nespresso machine. The shower was fantastic. We had a complimentary cocktail on the Saturday and the bar was full of life. We opted not to have breakfast but had the newly launched brunch deal on Sunday with a main, desert and cocktail for €25 with vegan / vegetarian options. Great value and delicious food and drinks. Planning another trip and this will be our first choice for accommodation. Highly recommended. Staff really make a place!

Spent a lovely weekend in The Morgan Hotel. You cannot beat the location, walking distance to loads of bars and restaurants. The staff were 10/10. Friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was a good one. Their cocktails are some of the best I've had. Loads of choice and each one made with amazing detail and flavours! The room we stayed in was spotless and the aircon was much appreciated in this current heatwave! Their Irish breakfast was gorgeous. Each element cooked to perfection! The whole decor of the hotel is stunning. Can't wait to go back:)

I recently stayed here for 5 nights. We wanted to stay somewhere central and this couldn't be better for this, located in the heart of Temple Bar.
We stayed in a Deluxe room, which although not huge, was big enough for us, I would certainly recommend paying the extra for this room as I am guessing the standard rooms are pretty small. We also requested a room at the back of the hotel as it probably gets pretty noisy in the lower room at the front of the hotel, given it's right in the heart of Temple Bar.
The staff couldn't be nicer, everyone from the receptionists, the restaurant and the bar staff were so friendly and helpful.
The only small issue we had was with breakfast, we were there 5 days and each day either our order was slightly wrong or toast would arrive after you'd finished eating. Only a little issue, but the staff were great and it wasn't a problem overall.
We would definitely stay again when we visit Dublin.

Good hotel, good location albeit lively at night, but to be expected where it is located in Temple Bar. Great location for grafton street and shops. Fabulous staff, especially Michael on the front desk, could not do enough to help with finding us a quiet room and always polite. If I had to pick, the reason for 4 stars is twofold. 1) there is no designated bar area for residents who want just a quiet drink and a chat. The bar area is nice but the music is way too loud in the evenings, impossible to sit and just chat. A few of us left the area and sat in the little area near the lifts, which is also a walkway. I wouldn't have wanted to eat in the restaurant in the eve for the same reason, far too much loud music. 2) breakfast is mediocre, far too cramped and had run out of several things before 10am. Needs improvement. Such a shame as the rest of our stay was fine.

We requested a room on a high floor at the back of the hotel and had absolutely no issues with noise at anytime, despite being in Temple Bar area on NYE.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone, stylish, friendly and good value for money. We will be back!

I do recall seeing a couple of small dogs on leashes going to and from the elevators while I was there, but I would check with the hotel’s website or concierge to be sure of the rules.
