Hotel's Favourite
We were so fortunate to find the Aberdeen Lodge for our visit to Dublin. The lodge is located outside of Dublin central in a quiet little community where families go about their business and lives. The adventurous can walk to Dublin central area if desired, but we purchased the local “leap” cards that can be used on DART train, the local Dublin Bus, and the LUAS rail. The DART station is about a 10 min walk from the lodge. The Dublin Bus stops just a couple of minutes away from the lodge. We used both the DART and Dublin Bus (we tried our trip without a car) and the public transportation system was excellent. You can also us FREENOW app or UBER to get a local taxi if needed. I tried both. FREENOW was a little less expensive (ask driver to avoid tolls if not in a hurry). Very easy to get around without a car from the Aberdeen lodge.
As for accommodations...you would be hard pressed to find a more comfortable, relaxing, cleaner and better run inn or lodge in Dublin. Pat and his family (and their exceptional staff!) make their guests feel at home. They are attentive but never intrusive. Pat greeted us upon arrival, asked us to relax in the waiting room/library while staff made us a fresh pot of coffee (with homemade cookies!). He gave us some great details on the area, transportation, local dining options, and more. Very personable attention. And I noticed he took that time with each guest. Our room was on the first level, up one flight of stairs (there is no lift so hopefully your bags are not too heavy). We had very nice room on the back of the house overlooking the garden. Our bathroom had a step in shower which proved very useful for my mother. The staff does a wonderful job of giving the rooms a freshening up each day with clean towels, made beds, coffee and water replenishing, etc., I must say that I am not usually a breakfast eater, but..I would eat breakfast everyday if I had the staff at Aberdeen lodge preparing it. It was simply the best! They offer granola with yogurt and fresh berries..fresh porridge (I could eat the porridge everyday!..and did!) I asked for fruit and honey with my porridge and it was so tasty. They also have fresh pancakes with fruit, poached eggs on toast, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and chives..an authentic Irish Breakfast of bacon, sausage, Black and White pudding, fried egg, I think I tried most of their offerings..start your day off right with their breakfast…you’ll be glad you did. Make certain you include breakfast in your stay…you will be so glad you did. Again, the staff is very attentive and breakfast is so relaxing.
There are multiple local restaurants, stores, and bars within a very short 10 to 15 minute walk from the lodge. We enjoyed Indian food, Italian, and an afternoon at the local pub in Sandymount. All very friendly staff and proprietors at these locations. Also, a very nice and relaxing beach path is just about 10 minutes from the lodge. Pat will advise you on all of these locations and activities.
Pat and his family and their wonderful staff are doing the hospitality business the correct way…they make you feel welcome and at home and provide all of the comforts to make the best stay possible... ..many in the hospitality business could use some lessons from the Aberdeen Lodge. I am looking forward to our return.

I can’t say enough great things about Aberdeen Lodge, her host Ann, all of Ann’s staff, the breakfast and coffee, the location - easy to get to and within walking distance of a unique beach where locals seem to be constantly about walking their pups! After our stay, I sent my in-laws to book there and after that my son will stay, and eventually when my husband gets to visit our daughter who is studying nearby at UCD this semester, he, too, will stay … repeat customers for a reason: this place really is a gem. The beds were comfortable, the showers hot and full pressure, small details like a carafe of water at our bedside every night and a coffee spot full of cream and sugar in the room AND in the lounge; the whole place was spotless. The price was beyond right. The neighborhood felt utterly safe. Highly recommend.

I'm a solo female traveller and stayed here in April 2022. I spent a full week at the Lodge and would happily stay again. The neighbourhood feels very safe, I walked around by myself and felt comfortable walking between the DART and the Lodge when I got back late in the evening. It is about a 10 minute walk to the DART station in order to get travel to downtown Dublin. The Lodge is in Sandymount, a beautiful and peaceful area just outside the main attractions of Dublin. It is very easy to get into Dublin's main touristic areas from the Lodge, either by DART or the bus stop right outside the Lodge. The Dublin Bay is gorgeous and is a short 3-5 minute walk from the Lodge. This family owned and operated hotel is quiet and relaxing, and the family was extremely nice and accommodating. They showed me the hottest tourists spots on a map, explained how the transit systems worked, and were always happy to engage in conversation. The breakfasts were very delicious and the rooms were clean. The bed was very cozy and comfortable after a long day of exploring. There is an outdoor laundromat next to an ice cream shop right next to Dublin Bay, or the Lodge can do laundry for a fee; I did both and they were both great options. If you want to feel safe, have easy access to Dublin's attractions while also seeing the beautiful Dublin Bay and a slower side of life, and stay with a lovely family with the cutest Golden Retrievers, this is the place for you. I also recommend going for a walk around Sandymount if you are there in the Spring and enjoying all the beautiful flowers around the neighbourhood.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night Dublin break staying at Aberdeen Lodge. It is a lovely old house in a very pleasant and clean neighbourhood. The welcome from Pat was excellent and much appreciated providing us with some great local tips, particularly regarding the nearby DART train service (5 minute walk, Dublin city centre journey 10 minutes) which is very efficient and easy to use (the tea and biscuits were also appreciated after a full morning’s travel). The lodge is immaculate, and the breakfasts are fantastic - watching Sandy and Robin (the dogs) play in the garden was very entertaining each morning. Our shower pressure and temperature were great (often a disappointment when staying away) and our room was serviced and replenished daily. Overall, we have no hesitation recommending Aberdeen Lodge as an ‘out of town’ place to stay when visiting Dublin - Ann and Pat (and their staff) couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. Thank you.

A group of us travelled from Devon to Dublin under the pretext of a cricket tour. Well, a little cricket was played and a great deal of hospitality was sampled, with Pat & his family team at the Aberdeen Lodge acting as genial hosts and high quality concierges. The hotel is elegant, calm and restful with discreet service. Rooms are clean and comfortable, the showers in the bathroom are a true torrent of water which was much appreciated after some light exercise. Breakfast however has to be the highlight, freshly prepared combinations of modern and traditonal ingredients to create a highly indulgent event. One of our party (me) stupidly left my wallet behind - 3 days later it was returned via courier safe and sound. True extra mile service. Recommend.

+1
A home away from home, situated in lovely Sandymount, Dublin Ireland. The Aberdeen Lodge hosts Pat and Anna, and their remarkable staff are gracious, accommodating, and beyond helpful. The Aberdeen is a very well kept manner situated walking distance from the dart, and bus. The town of Stonybrook is located blocks from the ocean in a quiet friendly neighborhood, where everyone is helpful, and friendly. The Lodge is close to restaurants like Crudo’s, and Brownes’.
Breakfast is offered inside the Aberdeen, and served in a beautiful dining room with fresh cut flowers, and a special menu for guests. There is a special room with a huge window, I called it “The reading room”, it’s a beautiful quiet space in the lodge, traditional and well maintained complete with sitting areas, a fireplace, and a coffee/tea table with cookies/biscuits, cream and sugar. The bedroom had two beds, and the beds were very comfortable, the full bath looked newly renovated, and white fluffy towels were always provided. If you have rented a car, there is plenty of on-site parking. I highly recommend staying here, Pat and Anna are gracious, kind, and extremely helpful.

We were using Dublin as a staging post for a visit to family further away and we're so glad we chose Aberdeen Lodge for the night for both our inbound and later outbound ferry crossings. The hotel is in a pleasant suburb not far from the charming Sandymount and very close to the promenade and the owners really pull out the stops to offer wonderful service and a great home made breakfast. A very personal touch makes such a difference! The room (two different ones in our case given two stays) was very comfortable with a super bed. We were given very helpful advice on where to visit/eat in the area. We dropped on a real gem here and will certainly visit again next time we visit Ireland.

The Aberdeen Lodge is an absolute gem and Pat and Ann are the most wonderful of hosts. The quiet and very beautiful neighborhood is within a very short walk to the DART train for a 10 minute ride into the heart of Dublin and an easy stroll to a beautiful beach on Dublin Bay. If you are tired after a long day, there is no need to travel into Dublin for dinner as the little town center is also just a short walk from the Lodge and there are plenty of nice restaurants to choose from. Our room was just beautiful and Ann's breakfasts were terrific and make sure that you try her homemade brown Irish soda bread. The backyard is a wonderful place to relax after spending the day touring all the sites of Dublin and for people who miss their dogs that were left at home, there are two beautiful and very friendly dogs to provide that oxytocin boost that you may be missing. I doubt that you could find a more welcoming place to stay and we will certainly look forward to a return visit.

Stayed here on a work visit, it was clearly once a large Victorian private house and has a cosy, welcoming and slightly idiosyncratic charm, a place to stay if you value the personal touch rather than a bland beige chain hotel.
My room was very clean, had bathrobes and slippers and a giant bed, some of the furniture was what could possibly be described as tending towards shabby chic but I spent a very comfortable night there and slept like a log.
Breakfast was tasty, plentiful and efficiently served and it felt more like being part of the family than staying in a hotel - you get the impression that if you revisit, they’ll remember you and I think that’s quite a good thing.

I booked the place at random because it had prices lower than the ones in the centre and most of all because it seemed to promise a more homey atmoshpere.
The place delivered everything it portrayed on their website and other sites.
A huge bonus for me: it is a place where the owners live as well with their children, the cat and two fabulous retrievers. My room was on the top floor and as there is no lift since the place is an old villa,I nicely worked off all the food I had on a particular day. They only offer breakfast but the choice is very good. Dining room and the sitting room feel like a bit of Downton Abbey on a smaller scale.
The owners were helpful with adapters and umbrellas, ready to chat and provide reliable info about everything a first time traveller would wan to know. There is a lovely terrace and the back garden to relax. The room was lovely and cosy, the only thing to work out is how to use the sink because there are two fossets and washing your face requires both of them to mix the temerature of the water in the sink but that is the charm of the isles. The person who expects everything to be as at home should stay at home.
The village is called Sandymount and has a few nice pubs to get good food. Local transport from the place to the city is easy and frequent and the area very safe. I walked well past midnight from the centre of the village on my last night ( because the taxi driver could not find the lodge) to my hotel and felt as safe as if I were in my hometown.
If you do not mind commuting to the centre everyday this is a lovely place to stay, heartily recommended. I will definity come back.

No this is not true
Yes definitely plenty options on that front
Theres a bus stop right outside the premises or the dart train half a mile away
I would recommend contacting the B&B. Send an email.
We made all of the dates we booked.
Also, Ryan Air had some problems we read about.
I would recommend verifying your reservation with them ASAP
