Nice room, just what we needed as it was just me and a friend. You can get the bus from the end of the road straight into the city centre, 10 minutes 2 euros. Was slightly on the noisy as the floor boards above us...More

We've stayed here for 2 nights during a 3 day city trip to Dublin. We had the room on the ground floor which is surely the worst room that you can get. However the room + bathroom was very clean, the bed was nice and...More

Hi I would advise that ye cancel straight away, I had the worst experience ever and wouldn't like anyone else to go through the inconvenience that myself and my boyfriend did. I have posted my own review to fill you in on my experience;
Stay well away from this place! My boyfriend and I booked Abington House thinking it was a standard, lovely looking B&B, which was portrayed on the website. However when we arrived we instantly knew there was something very unsettling about the place. The estate was very run-down and the outside of the B&B looked like it had not been maintained in months. However been the optimist that I am I was willing to wait before I made my final judgment. A young women barley opened the door and asked us what it was that we wanted. She seemed very uneasy and confused to see us at the door. I explained that I had a booking which I had booked on Booking website. Eventually she told us to come in after and told us to sit in the hallway. The place had an unnerving feel to it and we did not feel comfortable there. A man shortly after arrived. He was not English and tried to explain as best he could that the toilet in our room that we booked was broken and we could not stay in the room. I explained to him that the week before including the day before & that morning I Rang continuously to just make sure that the booking was secure but there was no answer and no one called me back. I was a bit annoyed at this stage after it taking awhile to get to the B&B and we had plans that day. He explained to us that there was another hotel (The Glen) owned by the same owner Martin, that we could stay in which was located on Gardier St. He told us that we needed to go to the Maple Hotel before we went to the Glen Hotel to be given the parking direction and then to proceed to check in at the Glen. To be honest we were happy to leave Abbington House at it was not a pleasant place by any means. We finally arrived to the Maple and I explained to the man at the reception who I was. He had no idea of who I was. At this point I was getting very annoyed. He told me to go up to The Glen and to check in as he could not ‘let us park until we checked in’. Luckily enough the Glen Hotel was only a couple of yards from the Maple Hotel. When I arrived at The Glen I explained who I was to the man at the reception. He knew who I was and explained to me that I would have to go back down to the Maple to get parking before I checked in. After all my trips up and down from hotel to hotel ( unfortunately there were many) I was at the end of my thread. We finally found the car park and it was full of old toilets, sinks and whatnot. My boyfriend and I both agreed that this wasn't a safe place to leave the car overnight. The hotel wasn’t great looking by any means and there was a lot of work been done. The cost for 1 night was €169. I wouldn’t even pay €40 to stay. It was a kip!! I rang the manager to explain the inconvenience and terrible service that we received. I was very polite on the phone to him. I explained that we have been dragged all through Dublin for the duration of the day and it was unacceptable. He basically told me I can go F*** off if I don’t pay the full amount. He said that it was BOOKING websites fault as they have over booked. He never once said sorry. I was utterly shocked by the way he spoke to me. We decided that under no circumstance would we give our money to this man. We left straight away and never looked back!! My boyfriend and I are easy-going people. All we expected was a decent B&B for the price we were paying, nothing fancy. We both work in the Customer Service Sector and I know that if I ever spoke to a person the way that Martin (the manager) spoke to me I would be fired at the very least. He is a disgrace and I really really hope that no one ever has the experience that I had. Do not stay here. Their website makes them look like a lovely family run B&B,(which I wish it was ) but unfortunately it was the worst place I have ever stepped into!!
