I traveled to Dublin with my mother and booked The Holy Head Hostel before. It was one of many hostels I had checked. The location was the only good thing. We arrived and rang on the bell, some guy came and opened, he offered us coffee (from who knows what year) or water that has been out there for hours....

I'm used to staying in hostels but this place was terrible. There was poor communication from the staff, as they explained about teas and coffees he mumbled something and sat back into the office and I never saw anyone again after 3 nights sleep there. On Sunday when we checked out, it was explained to us by the cleaner that...

The only thing going for this place is the location but saying that I stayed in another place a few days up and that was amazing and similar price. Uncomfortable bed. Dirty bathroom and toilet. For what it is, overpriced.

I made the check-in and left the hostel immediately, going to my room only at night to sleep. When I laid on the bed, I realized it was soaked with piss, probably from a former guest. There was no one to complain, since the it has no 24h clerck. It was useless to turn the matress around; it was wet...

Could not sleep a wink with 80 (!) bites by bed bugs. (Actually found a bug so they are definitely in my bed). Double bed only 1,5 bed and very short (while I'm am only 1.70). Dirty floor in the room, shower tiny and not very clean, water sometimes cold, toilet ok. Very small room but for a hostel I...

Last minute on Booking.com and I paid over 100 euros for the most disturbing, horrible, dirty uncomfortable night. It was advertised as a B&B, not a hostel. I slept on an old mattress with visible springs. The shared bathroom was a health hazard and the open windows were a major safety issue if you were to have children staying with...

This was a last minute booking for me and one that I think I will regret forever. The hostel is little more than a tenement. People float through the place like ghosts and it's impossible to tell who is staff and who is just a guest. On a number of occasions I had guests actively go and fetch staff from...
