Definite pros and cons to Lough Eske... I am giving them 4 stars because some of our cons were due to personal circumstances and probably in part because we did not have a reservation. In the pro column: - The castle is beautiful -- lovingly rebuilt/restored -- and with a fascinating history - The bellman who helped us to our...

We spent 3 nights here for our honeymoon. Our room was lovely, so comfortable and the most amazing bathroom. I love the way they give you natural soaps and body washes to use. We went to the bar for food and this did not go v.well. We sat for ages and eventually had to call soneone over. I asked if...

My girlfriend and I stayed at Lough Eske as part of a Castle hopping tour of Ireland. Lough Eske was by far the best stop. From the Forrest walk to the great food, we felt right at home in this beautiful Castle. I could talk for hours about why you should stay at this castle, and far and away the...

My partner and I stayed for one night in November for a birthday treat. We were greeted by really friendly reception staff who wished my partner happy birthday and offered us free refreshments (mulled wine, flavoured water) When we arrived to our room we were pleasantly surprised with a box of chocolates and a bottle of proscecco to mark my...

Spent a couple of nights and found it to be very relaxing. At first it appears to be a large Spa hotel, but we found it to be very friendly and intimate. The entire staff we encountered was friendly, courteous and helpful. The "pub" was much more pleasant and welcoming than the Cedars, which was billed as "fine dining". Gave...

Lough Eske Castle is located in the quiet Donegal countryside. The staff are attentive, helpful and welcoming! The grounds are well maintained with several formal gardens ideal for contemplative walks. There is a comprehensive spa, workout room and an indoor pool complete with a steam room nearby! Come and relax at Lough Eske Castle!

This stay of two nights was part of a "Castle Experience" trip offered through Groupon and put together by Great Value Vacations. Of the four castle in which we stayed, this was our favorite. We are told that this is the only 5 star hotel in Ireland (I'm skeptical) and it lived up to the hype. Check-in was very quick...

Excellent hotel. Had afternoon tea, dinner in restaurant and breakfast. All absolutely amazing. I think the breakfast was the best I've ever had at a hotel! Very comfy bed and lovely toiletries. We were in a courtyard room. But it's the staff that make the hotel really special.
