I arrived at the Bru hostel in need of a drink and some relaxation upon arrival they where short staffed on an extremely busy day, one girl behind the bar and booking all in (a lot due to gigs) We made our way to our 3 bed room/cell with no air, tiny beds and although their was a bathroom with...

Of the 4 nights me and my 2 friends stayed at the hostel I could sleep through none of them. That was mostly due to the horrible insulation of the window. You could hear the noise from the pub downstairs until 1am and the traffic from the big street below from 5am as if there was a hole in the...

I stayed at the bru with 2 friends in a tiny little room for 3 people, with a double bed (it clearly wasnt a double bed, more like 1 1/3). On the website it said free highspeed Internet everywhere , but we didn't have wifi at all, only in the kitchen. The most annoying thing was the bad Insolation, so...

I've done a lot is hosteling, and this was one of the worst I've stayed in (barring one terrible experience in Eastern Europe). It's the site of a popular dive bar and the locals/patrons/employees there were very unfriendly to outsiders. The towels were kept on the dirty bar floor and smelled of cigarettes and had cigarette burns in them. The...

Hi Hensolo88, Thanks for taking the time for writing a review of Bru Bar & Hostel. We take a lot of care in making sure the local public and the Guests in our Hostel mix well in our bar. We have been doing this for eleven years now with very few complaints of unfriendlyness and yes it is popular as...

Novice to hostel bookings, I checked out trip advisor and then decided to stay 3 nights at Bru hostel. From the Parnell bus station it is a straight walk...easy to find and popular among locals. I only had the option of a coed room with 4 beds room 305. I guess I was traveling on a budget and it wasn't...

Sharing room with other people was a fine experience. There is a good bar in the hostel, young enviroment and good service too. I had a great experience there and I would repeat if I have to visit Cork.

I love nightlife and partying. I also enjoy a good night's sleep when i'm done drinking and need to be awake for a full day of touring - which is why I booked a top floor room in this bar/hostel. I could still hear the noise and music clearly despite rooming as far as possible from the street. This would...

A combination of bar and hostel, go to the ground floor and enjoy live music with a pint of beer. U can even get 10% off by showing your key card. It's also 5 minutes always from the bus station across the river. Also, it's only 5 minutes away to the trustable and reasonable hertz car rental agency.

The reception was nice but getting their attention was difficult because the main focus is clearly on the bar. Most of the residents when we were there were drunks spending the night. Rooms were cramped. Kitchen was poorly stocked. Would not go back.

The only great thing is that the hostel is only five minutes walk from the bus station. I did’t like my stay at the hostel mostly because of roommates, two girls who work in Cork and who already have had their routine with sleeping time and bathroom (and didn’t like fresh air). If we ignore the lack of air in...
