Have stayed here three times and can't wait for my next visit. The hostel is superbly run by Richie and Sinead, it is meticulously clean and is more like a guesthouse than a hostel. Excellent facilities and excellent host.Hope to see you again soon!

Great accommodation, exceptionally clean. Had a weekend break away here recently and couldn't have asked for more. Peaceful and accommodating atmosphere. Very suitable for a relaxing break. I'm looking forward to returning to the island and when I do I hope to stay here again.

Stayed for three nights in October this year again. The accommodation is kept immaculate and Ritchie ensures it is a tight ship. The setting is beautiful and the build is really well kept. It also has to be said that it is fantatastic value for money. Highly recommneded.

Superbly located, right on a pebble beach, our room was as near the sea as you can get without sleeping on a boat. Going to bed at night, cosy under the duvet,  with the window open and the sound of the waves breaking was a memory to treasure. And the air felt so clean, in the morning you could sniff...

I was on Cape Clear a few years back, and it's amazing the job Richie has done with this hostel that feels just like a home faraway from home, complete with comfty rooms, well-equiped kitchen, cozy fireplace, internet access, and plenty of opportunities to meet the other hostelers. It's both relaxed and with the rules needed for everyone to live...

Thank you for your kind review - I thought the dynamic throughout the hostel was lovely and we did enjoy your company too. The Storytelling was a great success again and rounds the season off nicely. Arghh!! Snoring men in the male dorm! - You were in the small male dorm and the hostel was full for the festival, which...

Greetings Travellor:-) This was my second year to visit Cape Clear Island, and my first year staying in Cape Clear Island Holiday Hostel. It is a very comfortable hostel, with good showers / bathroom facilities. It has some really interesting books for all to browse in the sitting area, which in the evening had a real fire to warm the...

Everything about the place is welcoming - so beautiful to wake up in the moring and hearing the sound of the waves tickling the seashore. Richard and Sinead turn their hostel into a home and shelter for travellers with a cosy fireplace and a cup of tea to welcome you. We have returned to the hostel for many years and...

The word is that this was the best Storytelling Festival ever! Next year's festival is already half planned and might just include something a little different from previous...

I run a summer program for teens, and during our excursion to Cork we always spend a night at Cape Clear Hostel. In my travels throughout Ireland I have yet to come across a better hostel, and in my experience Cape Clear hostel surpasses most B&B accommodation as well. Ritchie and Sinead are wonderful hosts who always make our students...

A friend and I went to Cape Clear for the International Story Tellying Festival. We recieved a warm welcome from Richie and Sinead. The hostel is very clean, kitchen very well stocked. There was a lovely fire lighting in the sitting room every year. It was like a home from home. There is no curfew in the hostel. The view...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cape Clear Island Holiday Hostel is stunningly situated in the South Harbour of Cape Clear Island within a few steps of the pebble beach. The view from all of the rooms is breathtaking; awaken in the morning, after a great night’s sleep, to the sound of the lapping waves with the freshest of air to breathe and, if you are lucky, your stay might coincide with the annual arrival of Basking Sharks to the waters directly outside the bedroom windows. ... more   less
