We visited this hotel recently and it was in an ideal location for our holiday. First impressions were more like a motel which catered for coach parties. Room was clean but very dated, dark and smelt of damp , it was also a bit of a trek from the main part of the hotel through long corridors which were either...

The hotel is in handy place for travelling around and if you like a walk there is a lovely walk behind the hotel into Aberfoyle. Our first impression of the hotel were that it looks more like a motel than hotel also it requires updating, The receptionist are very pleasant, The room again needs updating but were disappointed that the...

Great budget hotel, bit dated but rooms spacious clean and comfy. Food value for money, good buffet style breakfast provided but staff need to be a bit more cheery !! Granted there was a staff shortage and a massive leak from one of the water tanks but customer service was lacking slightly. However, great place to stay for a stopover...

Having read some of the previous reviews I sometimes wonder what people expect. This is a very good budget hotel with good amenities, clean rooms, friendly staff, mostly from Eastern Europe, (the only crabby one was the Scottish bar Manager who kept getting orders wrong, but it was amusing). The hotel itself is well situated and a short walk from...

Although we were only staying for the one night on the way back from the north. The room we were given was a disability room as requested as my husband has mobility issues and it was a really nice room and the bathroom was immaculate, it was spotlessly clean and the bedding which was all white was again spotless The breakfast...

This was our 3rd visit to the robroy for their tribute night. Firstly I love the area very scenic and some lovely walks. This being our 3rd visit, we were lucky to have the sun shining again The hotel looks quite dated from the outside, however the rooms seem to have been modernised, brand new bathroom with great power shower....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Rob Roy Hotel is situated at the gateway to the Trossachs in beautiful countryside where one of Scotland's most famous rogue's "Rob Roy McGregor" once roamed. The Hotel is an ideal centre for touring the Trossachs, Perthshire and the Highlands. The little picturesque village of Aberfoyle is just 1 mile from the Hotel and is host to three visitor centres, The Scottish Wool Centre, The David Marshall Lodge and the Scottish Tourist Board's very own Discovery Centre. The historic city of Stirling is only 18 miles away, and here you can find our sister hotel The King Robert, situated next door to The Bannockburn Centre, on the site of the famous battle. ... more   less
