Of course, this is a personal review. Reading other reviewers I wondered if I stayed in the same hotel. Positives were that there were plenty of car parking spaces. The room was a good size and very clean, warm too. The shower room was modern and a good size. The shower was also large. The negatives were the wooden sticks instead of tea spoons in the room. I nearly scalded my fingers trying to get the tea bag out of the mug. Why not spoons. We only had warm water at shower time, not a pleasant experience. Also, my husband's shaving water in the morning was only warm. The breakfast was decimated by the time we arrived at 8.30 am. The lack of healthy items was noted, only quick oat porridge in plastic tubs, limited cereals, and the ones available were all ladened with sugar, no muesli except for gluten free. The omelettes looked unappetising (the only eggs available), and I was told that the bacon and sausage were mediocre. Then the wooden sticks again, think there must be an embargo on teaspoons. Not for us, would never return. Premier Inn does it so much better, freshly cooked breakfast, and porridge. They have teaspoons too.

6th multi day visit to the Hampton at Hamilton, great service and fantastic friendly staff. The manager Connie remembered us, which was very impressive due to the visitors she must see. This hotel is great value and good quality with free parking WiFi and Breakfast, just on the edge of Glasgow its handy for Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports.

Really impressed with the hotel. Free parking, electric car charging, good little gym and breakfast was fab. Stayed with family, but meet up with friends as our kids were playing football in Glasgow. Great base to stay. All staff we met were vert polite. Highly recommend.

Breakfast is advertised as fabulous but this is the case only if you like an English style (but no tomatoes nor mushrooms) or a sweet breakfast, with waffles and croissants. If you expect a continental savoury breakfast, with boiled eggs, a selection of cheese and cured meat, milk alternatives, breads, interesting vegetables or even plain rice, you will be disappointed. Few cooked or packaged items are dairy free also (e.g. scrambled eggs contain butter) and very limited vegan options. In the room, like most chain hotels, the window cannot be opened and sadly the fan in the bathroom is a bit noisy and on 24/7. Overall it's a nice place where to stay but limit your expectations

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your overall positive review and I apologise that our breakfast options did not meet your expectations. As a Hampton by Hilton, we are a limited service hotel, which means we have restrictions on what we can offer for breakfast. Larger Hilton hotels may have a wider variety of options, such as fruits, vegetables, or cheese selections, as well as more facilities available. We will take your comments into consideration to see how we can improve in the future. Thank you for staying with us. Best regards, Agata Tecmer Guest service manager

I use a mobility scooter, the hotel is very handicap friendly. The hotel is easy to find, simply type in Hamilton Racecourse into the sat nav. Staff were outstanding. Room immaculate and well appointed with walk in shower. A limited menu but food good with a free breakfast.

Have stayed here 3 times now, rooms are comfortable, clean and very quiet, ample parking with EV charging points provided by Park & Charge. No issues with the bays and getting 22kw charge. Staff are always friendly which makes for the great atmosphere, kids loving staying here and the adjoining rooms. Food is great and OMG the chips are simply tasty. Easy to get to Glasgow by train or driving and only 20 minutes to the Braehead shopping centre. Breakfast is as you would expect from the Hilton chain. Highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel. Staff pleasant and friendly. We weren't to happy with the pillows, and this was easily rectified. We had a sea view room , which is spacious and very comfortable. The food available although not extensive menu, was of good quality and fairly priced for a hotel. Breakfast is good. A bit more fresh fruit on offer would be great though. Tinned peaches was all that's on offer, along with apples and oranges. Blueberries and banana would be great. We don't all want high calorie waffles. That said the hot selection is very good. We had a lovely meal in the evening at the hotel. Salmon was cooked to perfection. There is limited parking and to be honest it's a real bug of mine to have to pay to park when you're already paying to stay !! Think this should be looked at. All in all we would definitely book again to stay here.

My partner and I use this hotel on our return to England from the Highlands and we have used it as a base when exploring Lanarkshire. It has always been exceptional and in so many ways it was again, the staff as friendly as ever, the service second to none and the place as immaculately clean as always. The low mark is for the lack of sleep caused by the flashing fire alarm in the bedroom, even when your eyes were closed you could see the flash it was so bright and that really did cause an issue to try and relax. We raised it with staff and they said they had had a number of issues with the fire alarms over the week so you can kind of accept the explanation but the knee about the issue when we booked in, so why offer complimentary drinks as an apology. Yes we are coming back but probably around September.

Both on our way up to Skye and our way south, we stayed at the Hampton by Hilton in Hamilton, just south of Glasgow. I am glad to say that this was a happy experience and we would certainly stay at any of these hotels in the future. They are pet-friendly and do what they do very well. Nothing grand, but absolutely spotless with good food and friendly staff. This particular one has plenty of green space to walk your dog although we weren’t able to access it on the way home because of the heavy rain.

Stayed here with my children for a treat for their birthday and it was a very average experience, neither bad or exceptional. Check in was a bit muddled and I paid extra for a view of the racecourse ( which actually ended up being mostly of what looked like a tarmac overflow carpark. i was given absolutely no information regarding where my room was( which I actually don't mind as I can feel a bit vulnerable if travelling alone and they do that) but I was also given NO information regarding breakfast or checkout or about the meals available nothing...I thought it might be on the app but that was equally unhelpful, in the end I had to muddle along and ended up phoning reception to find out about check out. I had specified a quiet room as my kids are light sleepers and to be fair we heard no noise. Room was cosy( had to fight with the heating to turn it down but managed and spotlessly clean. I would have expected more towels for 3 ppl( only one bath, hand and mat towel) and only 2 glasses cups and 2 sachets of coffee and 2 of decaf and 2 teabags..I could've asked for more at reception but didn't need to as only here one night. Meal was ok, waited a bit and there was several things not available, understandable as it was a public holiday here in Scotland and they were awaiting food delivery. All staff seemed a bit new and awkward as if they didn't have a lot of hospitality experience, not in a bad way just didn't seem very used to dealing with the public, with the exception of the housekeeping person who chatted and was very friendly when setting up our room. Nice big TV, clean room with all amenities needed hairdryer kettle safe tissues shampoo conditioner body wash , adequate lighting and charging points. Bed was a little hard but had enough comfy pillows. We were on the same floor as the gym which looked good. Free parking and nice area . Breakfast was ok, the waffles were a little novelty and tasty. Children enjoyed the beans and toast. I felt I've seen better hotel breakfasts and they had ran out of apple juice/cranberry juice /rolls by the time we went down about 8.30. I was only greeted by the breakfast chef. I liked the extra door lock which made me feel safe, the shower was good but water a little temperamental. Overall an average stay but probably could've expected more for the price, I think it's important for staff to get a good balance of being welcoming and present and I think there may still be some room for improvement.
