I could not have been more pleased with my stay at Burnside Guesthouse. I was travelling alone and so booked the smallest room there, but it was immaculate and very well appointed. Liz, my host, was possibly the most friendly, helpful, and personable B&B host I've ever had, breakfast was generous and tasty, and the location is wonderful. Overall, a...

Liz has a great guest house. Largest bedroom we've ever had in a UK B&B. Large, comfortable bed. Great breakfast. Perfect location walking the beach or explore castle ruins. She assisted us with local information and pointed us to some great restaurants. This is now our place to stay in Ayrshire.

Thank you for your beautiful description, I wanted to fill it with traditional furniture, as it is more in keeping with the age of the building. Glad you enjoyed your stay and the breakfasts!

I had to smile when I read your comment about hotels. The guest houses want to offer more individuality and more of a personal welcome. Glad you enjoyed your stay. It is our home after all.

Liz and the Burnside were simply brilliant. A large, spacious double room complete with en-suite, plenty of wardrobe space, free wi-fi and a TV for just 65 pounds was extremely good value. The large choice of breakfasts were all lovely and Ayr itself is a wonderful town, with everything you want in a holiday within a half an hour drive....
