This place was recommended to us as somewhere that does good home cooked food. Did not disappoint. We ordered the fish and chips with mushy peas. Chips were home cooked chunky chips, delicious, ordered the fish in breadcrumbs which was undoubtedly the best fish we have had when eating out. Service was really good and the price was very reasonable.... More

The room was big and the bar in the pub is busy and well stocked. Staff behind the bar are good. However, the room was not clean and the place is in need of some TLC. The room was decorated well but the rest of the place is tired. Our car was parked down the side of the hotel and... More

A bit hard to fault this place for the price as it was the cheapest place I could find. Checked in without a fuss by very pleasant lady. Room was nicer than it looked in the pics, not huge but stylish clean and comfy bed. The home cooked food was OK for the price, real hand cut chips and a... More

We booked into The Albert Inn for one night as we were making the 3 hour drive up from Central Scotland to attend a funeral. The website looked good and we felt confident we would have a good stay. We weren't disappointed. Check in was easy and the bar was busy with pleasant locals having a quiet pint. Our room... More

Stayed at the Inn for one night. Arrived at about 4pm. We're quickly checked in by Robbie in the bar. Room was very large as was the bed, the photo on the booking site showed towels folded into the shape of an elephant , they weren't on the bed, in no towels at all. This was quickly sorted out, but... More

Lovely place for a short trip. Food was great at a fantastic price. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Lovely little beer garden outside. There were loads of people out with the inn coming in for food and drinks. Defo recommend 😊😊

Checked in for 1 night on business. My room was awful. There was a terrible smell and the toilet seat was loose so was a hazzard everytime you used it! Breakfast was waiting about 10 minutes before it finally opened late and was average.

We tried to go into this hotel for the steak night that is advertised outside . We arrived at 7.45 on Wednesday evening stood in there and had to asked the person behind the bar for a table for two, she looked across at the person who was clearing a table where two people were just leaving and shouted across... The breakfast at the hotel was excellent. The evening meal was passable although the fresh cut chips should be avoided as they were greasy and undercooked but very brown coloured, a weird combination. The room was tidy and clean but the décor needs updating. Comfy bed but the lock on the door needs to be replaced as it is very... More
