The hotel was OK but not particularly good value. We booked two twin loch view rooms. Had no trouble parking. The rooms were quite small, with panel heating. Furniture, apart from the two beds, comprised an open single wardrobe (ie no door), a dressing table and stool, and a chair, with a single bedside table between the beds. There was also...

I've stayed here a couple of times now (so it can't be that bad !!) and it has certain charms, I've never had a problem parking unlike some other reviews. The rooms are OK ..not the largest..but have had slightly noisy plumbing. Also the walls aren't the most sound proof so you could wake up to your neighbours mobile phone...

Stayed for a night with the family. The location is great as it is on the loch with Ben Nevis at a close distance. But the room was nothing great with kids bed being very uncomfortable. The breakfast selection was limited and the exact ordered breakfast was delivered in the fourth attempt with some burnt toast. Wifi wasn't great either....

This was the perfect place to recover after hiking the West Highland Way. The amenities are nice, the breakfast was good and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were updated in the room we were in and we had a great view of the bay.

We stayed at the Cruachan Hotel which we booked directly. When in our room in the late afternoon, a lady came bundling in expecting it to be hers having been given a keycard. We felt very vulnerable and actually lucky that we were in. This protected our belongings. The room was not soundproof at all and we suffered from creaking...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, and what a mistake this was. Firstly the parking is a joke, even the receptionist said that after 4pm its like a pantomime. The first night we parked up about 3pm and made the mistake of taking the car out in the evening and on returning there were no...

We stayed at the Cruachan Hotel last month for 1 night and while our actual room was in the back and didn't have a view, the front view from the hotel was beautiful. The common area looks like it was recently redone and is very modern. The breakfast was generous and gives plenty of choices. The staff was friendly. The...

Much money has been spent on this hotel recently and it shows everywhere except the soundproofing between rooms! This is a shame as all other aspects are very good and would have rated top marks if this had not been the case. Room was in attached annex . Good food and staff and minutes away from town center (seen better...

Hotel's location is lovely; right on Loch Linnhe. We were staying here overnight to travel to Mallaig on The Jacobite Steam Railway. Check in was swift and staff polite. The room, however was dated and damp smelling. The bathroom was tiny and not very clean. Beds were uncomfortable - springs sticking out and the noise from rooms either side was...

The location of this hotel was good, and while the front of the building and the lobby/bar/restaurant were beautiful, the rooms left something to be desired. There is a second building that is added on at the back of the older beautiful property, and was clearly done on a budget. Bathroom is barely wide enough for the toilet and the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Cruachan is designed with a traditional Scottish Highland façade and whilst the hotel has been, continues to be, sympathetically upgraded and modernised internally to provide all modern comforts, it has not lost its original character. The hotel has an enviable location overlooking Loch Linnhe and beyond the loch to the Morvern Hills. Guests can sit on the terrace outside the hotel in the summer, watching the boats on the loch and enjoying a quiet drink. ... more   less
