Former private estate, converted to a boutique hotel about 50 yrs ago. The staff are very welcoming and the rooms are large with en-suite bathrooms. The decor is like a country estate - the dining room is the old conservatory. The food is excellent - we had dinner and breakfast and can recommend both. If you’re looking for something other than the big chains, I highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely hotel/castle we stayed in 2 nights, chosen for us by Nordic Visitor. Nice, big room w king bed-our first in five nights, so it was good to stretch out. Food was okay, not super good, but nice atmosphere. Our room was extremely hot, heat was on with no way to adjust it. No one at desk we could ask. When we checked out there was a person while said we could open windows and use a fan, but no one pointed that out when we checked in.
Not only is this hotel beautiful, historical and comfortable but the staff is amazing- friendly, thoughtful, kind, flexible and helpful, and also went out of their way to work with our family of 25! The breakfast is abundant- there was live Scottish music one night- it had been private estate, and is tucked in a grove of trees with lovely, peaceful grounds. It is a ways from the city center, but only about a 10 min cab ride. Highly recommend for a group or just one!
We enjoyed our stay but know that it's a 25-min walk to the main part of town. Adam gave us great info on where to walk to and what tour company to book with for a tour of Loch Ness. Many thanks! The room does need better room darkening drapes as we had to wear eye shades since the curtains didn't block out the summer light. The bath could use some updating too. It was supposed to be a premium room but not real spacious; a fine hotel, just not fancy. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious and served well with caring staff. The best was the Black Isle Ceilidh Band that came to play in the bar after dinner our second night there! So much talent and fabulous music! Really made our stay there quite special!
Wow! We love this place so much. On our first trip to the Highlands, my wife and I traveled here with friends for several nights. The hospitality cannot be beat. From the front desk staff, to restaurant and bar team, everyone was very helpful and friendly. There are two buildings at this inn, the original and the annex. We stayed in the annex and the room was roomy and very comfortable. The food at the restaurant was fantastic and we enjoyed the bar as well. The town center is a lovely 1.5 mile walk down the hill and we enjoyed it many times. Great exercise! Taxis frequent the place as well. I highly recommend this inn and I am looking forward to returning. Bravo!
It was a pleasure to stay at the Lochardil House Hotel, it is maintained to the highest standards, all of the staff are extremely friendly and go above and beyond to look after their guests. They work as a great team. The complimentary platter at breakfast is a very nice idea which we haven’t seen before in a hotel, the food is excellent everything is freshly cooked and presented beautifully, definitely the place to stay if you visit Inverness we give it 5 stars, the rooms are immaculate and the bed was so comfortable, there’s a lovely we’ll kept garden and the Hotel has nice surroundings. We would like to say a huge Thank you to Adam, Michelle, Jess, James, Caroline all of the lovely staff who really looked after us and made us feel so welcome, we will definitely go back for another holiday.…
This was our second stay at the Lochardil. It was good to see Adam and Michele again. We stayed in a deluxe king room, with a patio onto the garden which was very pleasant. The room was spacious, very comfortable, and immaculate. The bathroom was correspondingly spacious, with a large shower cubicle. The breakfast, served in the large conservatory overlooking the garden, really does deserve the description 'fabulous'. We had dinner one evening, it was very good, although the choice is rather limited. We will certainly return !
We stayed at this lovely hotel at the start of out NC500 road trip. First impressions were excellent as the hotel is very impressive from the outside. There was ample parking in front of the hotel. The hotel is equally impressive once you enter and we were greeted warmly by the Adam on reception, who was very welcoming and recommended a lovely walk for us to take before dinner. Our room was very tastefully furnished and decorated, very spacious, extremely clean and very quiet . There were tea and coffee making facilities and Excellent WiFi. It should be noted that there isn’t a lift in this hotel so that could be a problem if you have mobility issues. We ate in the hotel restaurant, which is in a conservatory overlooking the lovely garden. The food was excellent, good quality, nicely presented and delicious. The waiter which was Adam again (the hotel was very quiet and he was covering reception, the bar and the restaurant) he was extremely helpful and the service was excellent. We also had breakfast in the same room the next morning, again this was very good. This hotel offers excellent value for money and we had a delightful stay there. I would highly recommend.…
Lovely location with excellent facilities for our overnight stay. Room was well appointed and very clean. Breakfast and dinner was also excellent. The staff were friendly and informative and suggested a great walk to a local park with views of the river Ness
We stayed for 2 nights whilst taking part in the Etape Loch Ness cycling sportive. The hotel put on a lovely breakfast at 5am for the cyclists. The lady serving couldn't have been more helpful. The room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. The evening meal was really good too. Would definitely recommend this hotel the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
