The first thing to say is a massive thank you to Lorraine & Harvey who did everything to make our afternoon tea amazing. The customer service was above and beyond.

Our afternoon tea for 6 was simply stunning. More than enough for everyone and the such quality of presentation and tastes.

We arrived for afternoon tea and my mother had a hip replacement surgery only 3 weeks ago so Lorraine and Harvey set up our table outside in the glorious sunshine. The food came out so quickly with wonderful sausage rolls, lots of wonderful sandwiches. The scones were soft and delicious with more than enough clotted cream and jam for everyone. Then the sweet treats were plentiful and amazingly tasty (diet out the window again 😊).

Lots of teas available and my dad had his own pot of hot chocolate even though it was blue skies and 20c lol.

Tea was refilled without question and very hot and fresh.

We all left very full, very happy and so pleased we chose Culloden house for this family occasion. Many many thanks.

After some disappointing experiences elsewhere, often due to inexperienced and uninterested staff, it was delight to stay here.

From the moment we arrived, we had very personal and caring service, especially from Kyle, a long standing member of staff, who is an absolute card. He proposed to my wife on the hotel steps after I had agreed a deal for 3 Shetland Ponies! His response to a guest asking how the air-conditioning works was to prop open a window.... but done in such a way as to not make the guest feel foolish... this is a very old country house after all.

No requests were too much trouble. The room was large, with 2 double beds and a luxury bath with jacuzzi style jets.

The location is beautiful, and at 7pm, the bagpiper arrives outside the front door... a great experience. A walk around the Walled Garden is recommended - full of alliums in bloom when we visited.

The dinner and breakfast on both nights was excellent, and we will certainly stay here again.

It is not cheap, but a country mile above so called 4 star hotels we came across in Scotland

A real luxury country house hotel experience. Thank you Kyle, also the Food and Beverage Manager and all his staff for making our stay so pleasant.

I recently posted a poor review highlighting the jaded nature of our room including photographs as evidence. I made a point that the staff service was excellent and the standard of our evening meal was very high. The issue was that as we had paid over £300 per night we did not think that the accommodation was value for money.
Since writing the review I have received a personal email from Stephen Davies the General Manager and he completely accepted the review as accurate and apologised without reservation. He gave a full account of the experience of the Hotel throughout COVID and included further information concerning the health of the owner over the period in question. He has immediately launched a refurbishment of the room fixing all the issues that I identified, providing written evidence.
In agreeing that we had paid a high rate for the substandard accommodation he has agreed a more suitable tariff for our stay.
So often you read defensive responses from the owners, it is pleasing to see an example of excellent service matching that the we received whilst staying at the hotel.

We stayed here for one night as a treat - and it certainly was. The service is friendly and efficient but relaxed. Our room was spacious and comfortable (the large bed was one of the best we have slept on). The bathroom was a little dated, but everything worked well so it wasn't a big deal. Dinner was served in a very pleasant room and, again, the staff went out of their way to ensure all our needs were met. Our meal was extremely well-prepared and delicious. Breakfast too was most enjoyable.

We realised as we were leaving that there was a walled garden which we could have visited and were surprised that this was not mentioned when we checked in.

All in all, we had a great experience here and would return.

We stayed here with friends for one night in October 2020
It was during the alcohol sales restrictions so we had drinks in our room before and after dinner
The rooms were fabulous, some of the best we have ever stayed in. The grounds and walled garden in particular make for a very pleasant walk
The evening meal and breakfast were exceptional, the best we have ever had in a hotel. Staff could not have been more helpful. We hope to go back when rules make it easier to enjoy yourselves

Our 3rd visit to this beautiful hotel. This was a champagne lunch given as a birthday gift from colleagues and was a wonderful experience. From the warm welcome from the lady on reception on arrival to the excellent shortbread with coffee everything was first class. The two gentlemen looking after us were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was excellent and our request for a different potato dish was readily supplied without fuss. Great care was taken to ensure guests and staff were well protected during the current covid conditions. We look forward to returning.

A group of us stayed at Culloden House over the bank holiday weekend. The hotel rooms were immaculate and very clean, with all the amenities you would expect as well as comfortable beds and both bath and shower. The breakfast each morning was fantastic, a huge selection all freshly cooked with the kitchen staff making sure every request was met! (We had some fussy ones in the group!)
The staff were however the highlight; each of them let their personalities shine with their own mannerisms and stories, they were engaging, accommodating and very attentive.
I intend to visit the highlands again, and I would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you!

This hotel catches your heart from the moment you enter the gates! Our welcome was warm and we were shown to the most amazing suite. Newly refurbished with fluffy towels, dressing gowns and loads of space. The lounge, dining room and breakfast rooms have beautiful cornices and charm ... can just see Bonnie Prince Charlie walking the corridors! Now to the Hogmanay. The Ghost from Culloden well he was so knowledgable and the presentation with kilts, claymores very engaging. Followed by a yummy taster dinner then back to the lounge for the dancing! Heard a good few Scottish bands in my travels but this was the best. The evening went well and gave to say a big thank you to all the staff ... this was a true house party. All the guests mixed and albeit we were just a small group it turned out to be one of the best Hogmanays we had had.

This 40-acre estate houses a splendid manor house bed and breakfast. We had a “princess suite” which was very large and beautifully appointed (antiques, chandelier, very comfortable beds, etc, and a big, modern bathroom) with views across the magnificent front lawn. The public spaces and rooms are all lovely…but what makes this property extra special is the staff. They’re warm, fun, exceedingly polite and they bent over backwards to accommodate every need. Don’t miss the beautiful private garden. FANTASTIC stay.

I went for afternoon tea which I had booked in advance. Having been asked for any likes and dislikes I pointed out that I did not like sweet tasting food - which ruled out cakes and normally makes afternoon tea a bit of a challenge.

I was stunned to find when I arrived that the chef had made a special completely savoury afternoon tea for me. And what a variety - I even had a special menu printed for me which I have attached to this post.

The staff were brilliant and pointed out some historical parts of the hotel including a special door which opened onto the former exterior wall of the original building which was destroyed by Government forces after Culloden.

Bonnie Prince Charlie used the place as his base just before Culloden and some of the hangings from his bed were displayed in the hall. There is a lovely walled garden which is open for guests to enjoy.

Leena and Kyle were so welcoming and obviously loved the hotel enhancing the experience further.

I only went for afternoon tea but intend to return to stay and enjoy dinner here!!

We had a car so we drove to Inverness. In my opinion it isn’t walkable because it took approx 20 minutes (if not more) to get to the city center

we had a car rental so we were able to come and go as we wanted. The hotel does have a concierge and I'm sure they would be happy to help you arrange transportation. Depending on what you plan to see, can also book through tour groups that will pick you up at the hotel.
