Avoid room 309!! Firstly onto a very noisy street best if you stay get a view onto river. So half the lights not working in room, kettle only boils once and you have to fill it up in shower as sink to small, double bed stuck into a corner but it was clean enough. And then middle of the night fire alarm set off no staff making sure folks are out No roll call and once back in alarm kept going off for ages after and a false alarm. Terrible but we did get half our money back but if honest feel cheated as didn’t get a sleep all night.
Stayed here for the nite for girly nite away and it was fantastic. Highly recommend for anyone to stay here staff were great and rooms were very nice. Close to everything shops and pubs 😊. Would definitely come back with friends and stay again
Have been a guest at the Mercure Hotel many times, even before when it was the Caledonian Hotel. This 3 night stay was very disappointing, check in was slightly late, room 324 was a Riverview upgrade, strictly speaking it had a ‘ riverview ‘ however the domestics storage encroached the view significantly, the room was ok, bathroom small but clean, bed ok. The room as stated was beside the domestic storage and behind the lift shafts, noisy, the area directly above on floor 4 had furniture being noisily moved throughout our stay. We tried to access the hotel bar on our first night, bar was closed due to cashing up, we were offered a drink if we waited, worst was to come, Hogmany, I had phone a week in advance to ask if the hotel was holding a New Year’s event, I was informed that there would be no event however the bar would be open until 1 am, the bar was closed at 11pm, extremely disappointing and contrary to the advice I’d received, a New Year’s 3 night stay at a supposedly 4 star hotel without a bar at the bells 🤬. Left today with a £30 bill for parking in front of the hotel in the old residents car park, sold off to a private operator. Happy New Year 🥳 …
Excellent hotel in the centre of Inverness. We stayed in a privilege room on the 5th floor. The room was very spacious with two large windows looking onto the street. The shower room is quite small but was in a good condition with fantastic smelling products. The bed was large and very comfortable. Dressing gowns and slippers were available for us to use. We had breakfast both mornings. It was outstanding. The food was piping hot and although I don’t eat it I was told that the haggis was very good. The croissants were flaky and very tasty. We would definitely stay here again.
We have stayed at this Hotel numerous times in the past, as it’s right in the town centre. We normally just book a compact room as this keeps the price down, but this time we booked a Privilege room and requested the river side view, which we got. As usual, the staff were all excellent to deal with and check in was very easy. We were allocated room 304 and the room itself was huge with a large comfy bed. A coffee machine is provided in the Privilege rooms, which is a nice touch but the machine is tricky to work. If you didn’t tip it back when you insert the pod, it loaded incorrectly and just destroyed the pod. The toilet is generally fairly small, with a very small wash hand basin, in which the pop up plug didn’t work. The shower though is quite large and worked well. The worst part about the room was the lighting. It is totally inadequate. If you have clothes in the wardrobe / shelved area, for example, you could do with a torch to find your desired item of clothing. Lighting also poor at the large dressing table mirror. On the whole though, we enjoyed the stay in the larger room and will book again in the future.…
Stayed at the Mercure, checked out today. Hotel was all round great but the reception staff and breakfast staff were particularly amazing. Went down for breakfast this morning and had the warmest welcome from Kelsie. She explained things clearly (breakfasts can be confusing in hotels sometimes) and was smiling and happy the whole time. She asked all about our trip and made us feel incredibly welcome and we could see she was doing this with all of the guests she spoke to. She is a credit to your hotel. We will definitely stay at Mercure again if we're back in Inverness.
Amazing from the minute I walked in the front door up to the moment I left. Lovely welcome from a very bubbly staff member called Natalie. While checking us in she took the time to chat with us asking us how our journey was and what brought us to Inverness for the weekend and when we explained it was a last minute trip away with out the children she then went on to recommend things for us to see/do while in the city aswell as some lovely restaurants and lots of bars (sampled quite a few of them) and very glad she did because her suggestions were top notch. I have an accor membership however my partner made the reservation on booking.com and upon explaining this to Natalie she explained that in order to receive accor points the booking has to be done via the accor website however she honored the welcome drink and complimentary upgrade with my gold status and the room was absolutely amazing. Lovely spacious room on the 4th floor with a spectacular view of the river! Breakfast the next morning also lived up to par. Buffet style with plenty of choice if you don't feel like a fry up. Everything was kept well stocked up and the hot food was nice and fresh, especially the eggs that get fried there and then at the buffet area - can't get fresher than that. We have already made a reservation to return in the new year and can't wait to be back. …
This was my second stay with my husband at this hotel (19th Nov). We stayed in a prestige room on the first floor. The room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom had a massive shower with good water pressure. The air conditioning meant we could heat up or cool down to room to suit us. We had dinner and drinks in the restaurant down stairs. Kien and Bobbi were very welcoming and helpful in the restaurant. Good selection of drinks in the bar. I've not had a midori and lemonade in ages. Chloe on the front desk was also very polite and friendly. Breakfast was buffet style and very nice. Yes, you can hear the revelers outside during the evening, but as the hotel is so central to all of these bars/restaurants and nightspots, it's not going to ruin my stay. Once the TV was on I couldn't hear anything outside. …
Booked with some trepidation following reading previous reviews, all I can think is they somewhere else. We had a fantastic privilege room with riverside view and hills in the distance. Massive comfortable bed and space to hold a party in. Staff very helpful at checking and throughout our stay and would book again in a heartbeat. Parking was plentiful and spacious at the back of the hotel. Thank you.
Myself & teenage daughter had a twin room for a show at Eden Court, 10 mins walk max. Great location & housekeeping lady was very kind to us by getting us toothbrushes & toothpaste in morning as we hadn't packed ours! Highly recommend Comfort Foods across from hotel, huge breakfast! 😋
