I found the hotel to be absolutely charming with warm friendly staff, idyllic setting and good food. Looking forward to stay here again. The bedroom had a sea view. The bed was comfortable and a good nights sleep was had. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
We had a lovely stay here, the rooms downstairs are beautiful with open fires and traditional wood panelling. Very well set out, the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean, bed large and comfy with beautiful views. The restaurant is simply outstanding, some of the best food you could eat!
We stayed for 5 nights together with our dog. And we had a splendid time here at Bunchrew House. If I could I would give them 6 stars. First of all, dogs are really welcome here. There's only one small exception, the main dining hall. However this is no issue at all since you're more than welcome do take your furballs with you for breakfast and dinner into the adjacent MacKenzie room. The staff is just marvellous. A shout-out to our wonderful waitress with the pony-tail. At last but not least, you have to eat dinner at the Bunchrew House. The chefs are wizards and what they create is just absolutely astonishing. That we had dinner 5 out of 5 nights there is just logical and needs no further explanation.
The location is beautiful, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the common areas of the hotel were comfortable and pretty. Our room, however, was outdated, threadbare, and not very clean in some areas. The bed was the exception -- it was very nice and comfortable.
The building is beautiful and the view pleasant. The bar is also nice for a break. Unfortunately we were disappointed by our room, large but located apart on the ground floor, in front of the air conditioning and backed by the kitchens. Child's bed (payed in extra) in the entrance is not usable because the day light passes through the doors of the entrance ; and at night there are lights in front of the offices, laundry etc at 2 meters. We paid an expensive price for a premium room that was not at all a the level expected.
This is a really nice historical building, and one can clearly feel it. The garden and the view over the river are really beautiful, and the position in quite good to visit both Inverness and to have a tour of the region. Rooms are a bit dated, and need a serious upgrade. It was also very warm and difficult to breath inside our room, despite not being so warm outside and we kept the windows open all night. Food is very good, better than I expected, but the system is a bit weird. They force you to book even if there is nobody, and then the bar food needs to be served outside of the restaurant on small uncomfortable tables, while they could just have the entire menu at the restaurant. They are dog friendly that is a big plus? And the car chargers worked really well and easy to use. In general we enjoyed our two days there, but I feel the price was slightly too high due to the low quality of the rooms , and especially the bathrooms.…
stayed here for one night 13 july 22,great location room tired, breakfast great, evening meal absolute rip off paid &110 for 2 starters 2 main course 1 cheese biscuits, starters we both ordered scallops subsidy of £3 per person we received 2 tiny queen scallops each, main course one cod loin grey in colour size about 3 oz ,one venison saddle nice but again tiny portions, won’t be going back.
The furniture in our room was very used and in need of some TLC. The bed was very comfortable but the bedside lights have about 7 watt bulbs and are useless for reading. One of the down-lights nearest the window was out. The carpets are passed their best from the front door and up the stairs. Breakfast was, we thought included as it says on the website, but on arrival we were advised it was £30.00 extra. This hotel has a fabulous location and has all the basics to be a Grand Hotel again but it needs someone to do the pushing. Disappointing.
Spent a wonderful night having a meal for our 45th Anniversary. Staff very attentive, polite and professional. Food outstanding, window table views are something special. Wish we could of stayed until dark to see the evening sky.
We traveled with 3 children and the Bunschrew staff and accommodations were perfect. Our rooms were charming and the grounds were beautiful. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the Bunschrew. The food was wonderful. (Try all the desserts!) The property is located just outside downtown Inverness and is minutes from Culloden Battlefield Museum and Loch Ness.
