Would just like to say a big thank you to everyone at loch ness country house hotel for all you are doing during these difficult times due to covid19.
The food hamper that I purchased is absolutely full of so much food, quality food that is, and most I couldn't even get in a shop as a result of panic buying but you have nailed that on the head by offering a fantastic service and allowing us to access to the quality foods that you serve at your hotel and at a great price. £95 may sound a lot of money, and will be for many, but well worth it for the amount of food in it and spread the cost between 4 people and you will certainly still get value for money.
Great service too. Came to collect the hamper and didn't even have to get out of the car.
Hats off to you all and thank you all once again. If covid19 is around for a while, we'll be coming again for another hamper.

Stay safe

Regards
Steve MacLennan

I had ordered a food hamper from Loch Ness Country House Hotel, and what a hamper it was, you get a great deal of products of the highest value produce and we made an fantastic Chicken Balmoral with the ingredients. We are looking forward to creating so much more with the ingedients.

The service was fantastic from the inital phone call and ordering process, with a friendly receptionist, to the instructions indicated to get the food hamper collected. Social distancing was adheard to with the staff popping the hamper boxes into the boot of the car.

This initative is helping the community and helping their staff stay in work. Fantastic job and would highly reccommend this service to anyone looking to get the essentials.

Whilst having stayed at the Columbina in Venice the Waldorf in New York and Ceasers Palace in Vegas remains great memories of amazing hotels for me I can honestly say this hotel gripped my heart strings and will be up there for a very long time. The level of service is by far the best Ive ever experienced. From Arran & Chris to Debbie & Cara - to Callum in the restaurant to the hopusekeeping support and finally the great Chef's behind the excellent food during a wonderful week in a suite. The grounds & decor is typical country home style with views across the hills, just a 3 min drive into Inverness and 5 mins drive to the start of the beautiful Loch Ness the location is just perfect to explore the Highlands and enjoy real Scottish hospitality.
Our week flew by, with walks, boat trips, whiskey adventures and amazing views I could not recommend in all of my reviews a better relaxing week to switch off. Once again we know the food and service is really important and the staff and whole work ethic by this hotel is way more than any 5 star - we were asked if we wnated anything different from the menu due to our long stay and Scottish Oysters were added to the menu the following day - my wife just couldn't get enough of the fillet steak and the lobster's were perfect. Having a long drive on our morning of check out sandwhiches were provided without even a request which just made the good bye's even harder, to go that extra mile deserves a big big thank you and all the Team should be proud. I just wish we lived closer otherwise I think we would be asking for a job there... Without hestitation if your considering a visit in the area this is the place.. well done to everyone and thank you again and hopefully see you soon

I am sure this is a superb venue for weddings; lovely grounds, Georgian building, etc. Maybe also for an overnight stay after a meal, our room was a good size. We arrived on a Monday afternoon and departed on a Thursday morning; at best it was a weird experience. Check-in was probably the root cause of our problems. We were taken to our room by a member of staff who was looking for a restaurant reservation from us and a tip for carrying luggage. We were told to fill out forms for breakfast each day and leave them at reception; (tick the top of the form for drinks and the bottom for food) and that our room key was on a table in the room. It wasn't. We needed to call reception to confirm they actually had the key. There was a second form with tick boxes for replacement items for the room, clean towels, toilet rolls, shampoo, etc. In the room there was no information at all about the hotel, its grounds, facilities, etc. no menu for the restaurant, nothing. After check-in the only staff we saw were in the breakfast rooms. During our visit the bedroom was not serviced at all, the bed not made up. On Wednesday we asked for replacement towels. They were left in a plastic bag outside the room. The simple message this conveyed was 'do it yourself!' As you will see from the photos below the double bed consisted of two single bed frames laid side by side so they met across the middle of the bed. That left a ridge which was in my ribs as the mattress was so thin, (see photo). The only way I could get comfortable was lying on top of the duvet, outside the bed. You will also see from the photos there was a hygiene issue with the bathroom. As a big man I also had problems with the shower; a fixed shower head meant I had to crouch to stand beneath it. As we had been told to tick one drink and one meal we assumed some element of breakfast buffet for cereals and toast. This was not the case. What was delivered was what was ticked. Whilst quality of food and service were good it was a small breakfast and a learning experience. The second morning I had some porridge with honey. The porridge was good but I think I got a honeypot used by an earlier breakfaster as there was little more than a trace of honey in the bottom of the pot. When we checked out we had to leave our key with the staff who were serving breakfast as there was no one else available. I suspect our treatment may have something to do with staff concerns around Covid. However we left feeling we had been completely ignored, poorly treated and unwanted.

This was for a 3 night stay as part of a 2 week tour of Scotland for my wife's 50th birthday.

This was by far the best hotel we stayed at throughout our whole two weeks and 8 hotels, and 2 of those were 5 star hotels.
From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Graeme the Operations Manager, we felt like not only like we were valued guests, but that our stay was going to be pretty special, and it was. All the staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming, the hotel has its customer service perfected, and we couldn't have asked for better.
We stayed in one of the 2 best rooms, which overlooked the gardens and surrounding countryside, and was very grand with everything we needed, including a very comfortable large bed.
The food in the restaurant was superb at each meal, and the choice was perfect. As mentioned earlier, this was as part of my wife 50th birthday trip, and although her birthday had yet to arrive, we were treated to a bottle of prosecco from the management, and the chef baked a birthday cake, complete with a giant sparkler. To say we were touched would be an understatement, and no other hotel did anything at all.

The hotel is ideally situated to explore the area and attractions, and we only managed a handful of activities, and could have done so much more. The choice and quality of things to do in the area, could keep you entertained for weeks.

The only negative we have about Lake County House Hotel was that we left when we did, as we we wished we had stayed for a full week, at least.
If we are ever thinking of heading this way again, we would definitely return, no question about it, and we wouldn't even look at alternatives.

I have written this review after the full 2 week break to allow me to compare all hotels with each other, and this is just our personal experience.

We stayed a family of 4 in the large of the two cottage in the grounds ( a 30 second walk to the main hotel). The cottage was over 2 floors had a spacious lounge with fire, dining area, shower room and 2 bedrooms. You can park right outside the door.

Due to Covid they had to erect an outdoor marque which enabled you to eat and or drink outside. The served meals at night there as well. Was a bit cold so we opted for a meal inside on the 1st night (but could not buy alcohol due to new regs from Scot Gov) - the meal we have the Tomahawk steak for two which was great, kids meal and scallops all very well cooked.

Staff were all Scottish and could not do enough for you. All Covid regulations in place so felt safe. Breakfasts were plentiful and ordered the night before.

Only one issue that I mentioned to hotel was the FreeView box in cottage only had 3 channels so either a new TV or box is required. Fastest Broadband i have ever seen in a hotel, Speeds of over 200M/Bit were regular.

Great location for a number of sight seeing opportunities. Could not fault and would 100% return.

Had a look into other cottage and it is nice but definitely not as big or as good as the larger one...

We were very pleasured with our 2 night stay here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Beautiful grounds but very close to Inverness town. Stunning views and tastefully decorated. The Reception staff were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. Nothing felt like too much trouble in order to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

The room was a generous size, with shower and bath in bathroom. Spectacular views of the countryside from our bedroom. Only complaint about our room is that although we had requested a double bed, we were given two twin beds pushed together and we could feel gap in middle - not so romantic for an anniversary weekend away!

The room is a lot of storage space, local guide book and a tv. No coffee machine though.

On the first night of our stay the bar was very noisy which we found surprised considering how remote the hotel is. However our second night was much quieter. If booking perhaps you would want to ask for a room in a quieter part of the hotel.

If tempted to buy the Lord and Lady package while there - make sure you do it in person in the hotel as via website they charge 10 pounds more!

We had both dinner and breakfast in the hotel. Both were delicious and very generous portion sizes. Scottish menu with lovely fresh ingredients. Would recommend the scallops for dinner and the pancakes for breakfast!

Picked up one of your food hampers yesterday. Absolutely delighted with it. There is a huge amount of produce for the price, so much so that I've split it with my parents who are self isolating. The quality of the things I've tried so far is great.
Your staff on the phone were very helpful when I had to change the vehicle I was collecting with and the pick up was very well organised.
Picking up a household hamper next week and will definitely offer another food hamper when we eventually get through what we have.

We were greeted by extremely friendly staff to this warm, charming hotel. Standing in its own grounds with a lovely view, it was hard to believe that we were so close to Inverness. Everything was clean, tidy & the food was so good that we ate in all but one night. Everything was Covid compliant, and although people couldn't come in and make up the room, this wasn't a problem as a list was provided to make requests. We used this base to explore the coast and the highlands, and the staff were on hand with local information. We plan to go back.
