We stay in the NE of Scotland and last minute decided to go away for the evening. My partner chose Ackergill Tower as he happened to come across the property before. We set of and arrived a little later than expected around 10pm. Although we do not require to be waited on hand and foot, you are left to your...

Driving up to Ackergill we knew we were in for a splendid night. Our room called Totties after a family dog from the early 1900s was delightfully decorated in vintage grey and yellow with a luxurious bathroom in vintage style. Our dinner in the baronial hall dining room was as good as the surroundings. A delicate hot smoked salmon starter,...

Gorgeous grounds and castle to explore, and very friendly staff. Every room is beautiful, and it feels like a dream to be able to stay in such a historic place. The food is amazing, and the common rooms, drawing room, great hall are amazing and comfortable. The experience was truly incredible, highly recommend!

A wonderful stay in a lovely castle. Warm welcome on arrival. The Manager and all the staff were extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the Castle and provided excellent service throughout our stay. Our room on the fourth floor of the tower was beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable with great views. Access to the fourth floor was via a steep narrow...

Very friendly staff and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Loved the log fire! Scones and cakes fab couldn't eat it all, great selection. Had a browse around the hotel and would love to go back in the evening.

We always wanted to sleep a night at a castle, and so we were very happy this dream came finally true (ok, for us europeans it is rather a tower, but that dosent really matter). Our welcome was really friendly, and our suitcases were carried up (which we were really happy about, as there is no elevator), and we just...

Gorgeous location and castle. Difficulty to find staff to check us in. Staff mix up regarding poor room provision (small, cramped and smelly). When reported they kept talking about trying to find the same level of room and then attempted to move our room before realising they had another booking for the second room and then claimed it was at...

First visited about a decade ago as part of a corporate event, and happy to say that the return visit retains all of the charm is a little less of the 5-star slickness. At the wild top of Scotland, Ackergill Tower is not somewhere you are just going to drop in to because you are in the area, but make...
