There is no doubt there is a sense of occasion when one stays at the Ackergill Tower. It can trace its origins back to medieval times and the furnishings of the bedrooms and public rooms contribute to a very traditional feel. Rooms can be found as high as the 5th floor but be warned there are no lifts ! (although willing...

We stayed here for 2 nights. The setting is fantastic - more like a country house than a hotel. The room was lovely and the views amazing. We had dinner and breakfast and both meals were beautiful both days. The only surprising let down is the service. There is no bar per se but a handful of public rooms than...

We have just returned from a three night luxury stay at Ackergill Tower which we planned whilst completeing the North Coast 500. The tower is beautiful, you are encouraged to make yourself at home by relaxing in one of the sitting rooms, playing croquet on the lawn or having a game of snooker. Marcell and his team will do all...

When my husband first booked a night here, I was excited -- but I worried that we'd run out of things to do. Wick isn't exactly known for having a lot of attractions. Little did I know Ackergill Tower, alone, would provide so much entertainment for someone like me. My favourite feature is that there are a bunch of rooms...

1 night stopover on the NC500 but a welcomed treat! The location and property were fantastic and there was a nice walk round the back of the property that had some good sunset views. The room was cosy - we had a four poster bed and a huge flatscreen TV which topped the stay off. Bathroom facilities were nice too...

In terms of a dream getaway Ackergill has it all. The location, setting, tower and rooms were fantastic. I booked Ackergill as a treat on a trip around the Highlands and stayed 2 nights. We were delighted with the majority of our stay. A few issues that we would have slighty took away from our experience of staying at Ackergill....

We stayed here one night on our driving tour of Scotland, greeting was great and our bags were immediately taken to our room for us - up many stairs. I think we were on 3rd or fourth floor, I lost count. The ground floor consists of reception office and sitting rooms, the first floor has restaurant and sitting rooms and...

My partner and I stayed here while driving the NC500. He booked this as a treat for our 2nd last night and what a treat it was. From the minute we walked through the door, the tower oozes history. Beautifully furnished and immaculately clean, I loved the atmosphere from the start. The staff were great, faultless in service but very...

Very well situated for exploring far NE Scotland. Amazing and unique building/location. Staff all super helpful. Whole place fully of character and interest. Our room was on 3rd floor and called Nun's: very spacious with side seview looking south, a wee bit shabby chic perhaps but ok, en-suite was "compact" with only a shower and no bath. Public lounge areas...
