We'd booked to go and stay at the Argyll Western to attend the Celine Dion Concert in 2021! Unfortunately, due to covid it was re-scheduled, after contacting the hotel they moved our booking to the new dates (June 2022) with no extra fees etc, we were so grateful as it just saved so much hassle being able to do this. Only this week we were notified that, due to ill health this time, the concert is now postponed until April 2023! Gutted! We contacted the hotel, thinking our luck would be up this time! but AGAIN they've very kindly moved our booking to our new April concert dates, again with no fees occurred, we're thinking that there's probably not a lot of hotels that would do this, especially in this current climate! Will be keeping this hotel in mind for any other concert dates / stays in the future that's for sure as things can often change at the last minute and it's so much hassle to re-book accommodation! Well done to the Argyll Western for being SO flexible, accommodating and understanding! Thank you. Special thanks to Azam for being so helpful and excellent customer service!

Disclaimer: I am a housekeeper for high end vacation rentals. Great location, good breakfast. Traveling solo, the additional deadbolt lock does not fit in the doorframe, so I’m vulnerable. Housekeeping staff pulled towels and didn’t replace any linens. When I tried to get fresh linens at night desk staff didn’t have access to linens (WTF?). Staff seems unconcerned that I can’t lock my door. Men, clearly. Zero stars. UPDATE: After I posted this review and staff read it, management sent me multiple emails asking me not to be mad at them, staff entered my room the next day while I had the Do Not Disturb tag on the door. TL;DR: Staff laughed at me and said it didn’t matter when I pointed out the deadbolt on the door doesn’t fit in the frame and I can’t lock my room. The next day staff entered my room, despite a Do Not Disturb tag on the door. Both these things mean I do NOT recommend for solo female travelers.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review, however quite dissapointed at your claim that our staff "dont care". After a thorough investigation i have come to a few conclusions on your review. Firstly let me start by letting you know that our staff members have been trained extensivley on customer service, so to hear that they didnt seem to care about your safety is quite dissappointing. Having had a word with everyone involved, the only reason our housekeeper entered your room was to clean your room and to install fresh linen and bedding(which was done on your request). Now onto the issue with the lock. i have spoken to the night porter and he has confirmed with me that he did not find this funny at all, i struggle to understand why any staff member of any hotel would find a guests safety a funny matter. i have also checked CCTV footage from that day. (which checks out).. Upon checking CCTV i did come across footage of yourself coming down to the reception late at night in a towel and undergarments, i did find this very unappropriate, and normally not the behaviour of someone whos scared for their safety. Again i do appologise if this respoonse offends you in any way, that is not my intention, im just letting you know what i can see infront of me respectfully. I have taken your review onboard, and will fix that lock imminently, i hope this response is to your standards and we asure you next time you stay with us you will not be dissapointed one bit. If you have any other queries my name is shery and you can get in contact via email or telephone. hope you have a wonderful day. Kind Regards Shery HR Manager

Me & my husband booked a room here overnight after a wedding reception. We dropped our bag off before the wedding ceremony in afternoon at the hotel as room wasn’t ready till after 2. The room was nice & compact & clean, ideal for a night or 2, great power shower. The breakfast buffet was fantastic great choices & the staff were very nice & refilled any food trays as soon as they were empty, would definitely come back again sometime. Would recommend. I only stayed here one night, and it was a last minute stay that meant I needed to check in at 1.30am the night I was staying. The person on the desk was very understanding. The room was big, clean and comfortable and to top it all off the buffet breakfast in the morning was fantastic.

Needed a hotel, near Anniesland, in an emergency late at night. This one gave me what I needed. Reception helpful and pleasant. Room Clean as was shower/bathroom with a comfy bed with nice clean linen. Good breakfast with nice staff that early in the morning.Parking difficult but there is shared parking immediately behind building for a small fee and a voucher option for on street parking.

Unfortunately there was a very rude man at reception when we arrived. He was on his phone, we stood… and waited and eventually coughed. He finally stood up, looking exasperated that he’d had to stop the game he was playing! Clearly no idea that first impressions matter nor about basic hospitality. We had rung 2 days before to arrange early check in and had been led to believe that it would be fine. There had clearly been a misunderstanding that the room might/might not be ready early which was cleared up by a senior member of staff. We could accept this as it was inconvenient but not a dealbreaker. The attitude, however, of the man on the reception desk, was quite unbelievable, both on arrival and in sorting out the issue. The rest of the staff were pleasant and the hotel was warm, cosy and clean but a few suggestions: Duvet for double bed was way too thin and way too short. Cooking smell of breakfast in bedroom was overpowering. (There is a sign in bedroom to advise you to keep the bathroom door closed but the smell is very strong.) Long black hair in the tray of bacon at breakfast. Some fresh fruit at breakfast would be welcome rather than tinned fruit cocktail. This hotel is in a fantastic west end location and with a few tweaks it could be a whole lot better.

Room was clean, warm and comfortable. Very strong smell of air freshener. Great shower. Not a great bed but Ok for one night. Terrible sound proofing, we could hear pretty much all the conversation of guy next door on the phone. Poor rating because they cannot get basic security right. Having checked in earlier, we returned to our room around 10pm and my husband was in bed, and I was in the loo when a drunk man walked in. My husband convinced him he must have the wrong room although he was adamant he didn’t, and went out. I locked the door behind him and I think he tried next room, but then he was able to walk back in to ours! He said he’d stayed there the night before and that’s why his key card worked. We then had to convince him again to go to reception and my husband went down as well. The guy on reception was vaguely apologetic and eventually worked out where the man was supposed to be. If we hadn’t come back at that time he would have walked in and been through our stuff and then been in an argument to get him out. He literally could have been anyone. Why did his key work on our door? The doors also don’t deadlock properly. We left without bothering with breakfast as didn’t think they’d get that right either. No apology or check up as we left. Would not return.
