Booked Z hotel based on the london hotels being very good and was really disappointed with being allocated a windowless accessible room. Heating was not working and tv remote did not work and generally the room was poorly lit. Hugely over priced for what the room was for a 3star hotel. Never again

Stayed here two nights earlier this week, windowless room was a tad claustrophobic, however I was generally only in the room for sleeping so it was fine. Only downside was the noise, primarily from the fan in the shower/loo, couldn't see how to switch it off until about 04:30 am, which involved standing on the loo & finding a ceiling switch, then it wouldn't go back on again in the morning, plus when the loo upstairs was flushed it was so loud I half expected to get a cold shower in my bed !. All in all an ok place, would stay again.

Hi seabedW, Thank you for a lovely review! Our rooms are compact as this allows us to offer very competitive rate while being so centrally located. I will have the fan in your bathroom checked as it should not be as noisy as you describe. Could you please email me directly at donald@thezhotels.com so that I may investigate this further, Thank You Donald

It was a good hotel wheelchair accessible via a side door, small lift you will get a wheelchair and one other person in it. I was down for the weekend to take part in remembrance Sunday parade, a good hotel but as I said very expensive I was there by myself and it cost me over £300 for the weekend, the staff where friendly room was clean, look at the photos and you will see that the shower and toilet is in your room. Separated by a glass wall and door, for me that was no problem, the hotel is advertised as £75 a night I know it was cop 26 but over £100 a night was a bit much, would I stay there again yes but not at £100+ a night.

Hi Sam A, Thank you for such a kind review. I am so pleased you found our team to be so friendly, and the room to be so clean. These are areas we really try to excel in. As you stayed with us over COP26 prices at Z and across the whole city were higher than usual, due to unprecedented demand. Please stay with us again very soon, we would love to welcome you back again, Donald

I knew when I booked the room that it would be small and have a glass bathroom, so that didn't bother me like some past reviewers! My main issues were that for the very high amount we paid to stay the weekend, the facilities were not up to standard - our shower door was dodgy and the 'clothes rail' was just five hooks on the wall! That being said, the bed was very comfy, the TV had Sky and there were free breakfast options for guests, plus complimentary wine and cheese on evenings if you're into that sort of thing. Overall a decent stay but far too expensive. Would only recommend if you're staying 1-2 nights.

Hi ZGodden, Thank You for taking the time to review your stay with us here at Z Glasgow. The Z concept is based around guests staying with us for around 1-2 nights, though we do often have guests staying for longer. As you stayed with us during COP26 all rates in the city were higher than usual due to unprecedented demand. All of our bedrooms have hooks/hangers on the wall, with no wardrobes as this allows us to remain competitively priced while maximising space in the room. I really agree that our beds are very comfortable and the Sky TV is a wonderful bonus, Please come back and join us again in the near future, Thank You Donald

Great boutique-vibe hotel. A cross between a stylish box room and boutique hotel features. It's an economy hotel, although, staying for COP, it was priced at a premium, as was everything from hotels to airbnb in Glasgow, the past few weeks. So in relative terms it was still good value. I thought the room was well appointed and laid out, and comfortable. Simple but stylish. Staff were friendly. The communal area was nicely set up with good design cues. There were a few free, Scottish themed amenities in the bedroom that go down well. Fudge and soft drinks. Nice massage from the manager. My slight bug bear, but I would still give this hotel 5 stars, based on value for money - combining style and price - was the communal area for breakfast wasn't cleaned up that often. I sat down at a large kitchen table that was strewn with left over plates and crumbs and staff were chatting in the open kitchen. I know they were also probably making coffees for people and managing check-ins, etc but it seemed like they had the time to scan the room, see a big breakfast room table of plates and crumbs, to clean and clear away. It's not much fun having breakfast and left over plates around. That said, it's mainly a self-serve environment so those details maybe get missed in the morning rush. Overall, a good hotel. If I was back in Glasgow or another cIty with a Z Hotel, I'd have no issue staying with them. My impression is, this hotel chain competes with a Premier Inn or Holiday Inn Express but bringing more unique designer cues and lifestyle to the experience. Whereas a Premier Inn or Holiday Inn Express all look alike (pretty dull) this hotel chain offers a more distinctive, original vibe, possibley tailored to the heritage of each city-location.
