Stayed at the Ivory Hotel on 20th May as the location was convenient for an event we were attending in the area. First impressions were that the hotel looked a little shabby from the outside. Our room on the first floor was spacious, clean overlooked the park. Positives - Two large windows Two comfortable double beds Modern bathroom (shower only)...

The potential for this place is great. Unfortunately the service lets it down. A number one for a successful hotel restaurants is that proprietors have to have their eye on the ball. Unfortunately this wee place is greatly let down by it's obvious lack of management..

If you like the type of hotel where fellow guests are eating their breakfast with a pint then this is the hotel for you. To be honest, I didn’t mind that so much as paying over £160 a night for two rooms that definitely hadn’t been ‘recently decorated’. There wasn’t even any toilet roll in the bathroom! Then again, maybe...

We visited the ivory hotel on the 8th of April for my sons 18th . There was a group of 31 with adults and children, the hotel gave us the conservatory to ourselves which was great , we all opted for the two course set menu which was varied and reasonably priced .the food was good and everyone enjoyed it....

Hotel room was clean and spacious. Staff were lovely. This is a very popular restaurant and bar and is very busy over the weekend. Maybe not the best if you have children with you. Shower seemed to lack hot water. ..Beds could do with been replaced. But place is fairly central and prices are quite low

Went here for a pre Mother's Day meal, with our 84 year old mother. The restaurant was not full, food was lovely and an ok serving size. The chairs that sit at the back of some tables are needing washed. Staff very polite and eager to help. Ordered tea at end of meal and had a lengthy wait. Before heading...

We went to the ivory hotel for a meal on st. Patricks day with my family. We found it good value and the food was excellent. I recommend the chicken and haggis. We will definitely be going back next time we visit glasgow. Thank you for a good evening

We enjoyed a meal here while staying at the hotel. All of the food was delicious and the service was great. I was given a free glass of wine as my first choice of starter was unavailable. Can recommend the sea bass and chocolate brownie in particular. Good atmosphere on a Friday night with live music.

Dont bother. Overpriced room dirty shower. Manager didnt even reply when I spoke to her. No breakfast. Room cold. Restaurant shut at 9 on a Friday night as not busy enough. Then I get a message saying that I am being charged 50 for smoking in my room which is a complete con. Told there was a late bar was...

Management response:

This revue is defamatory and based on the charge made against his card for smoking in a room that he was warned was a no smoking area. The Hotel is completely Non smoking , it has 30 odd signs detailing the rules and charges that apply to those who choose to break the rules. Lots of stock etc is easily...

We stay at this hotel whilst visiting my mum in a care home nearby so the location, for us, is ideal. The main road of Shawlands is about 500+ yds away so well within walking distance to the shops, cafes and restaurants but far enough away not to be disturbed at night. We normally book mid week but on this...
