Alamo Guest House is well located with helpful and pleasant owners. However, although it aspires to elegance it has a number of issues that need work. The room was large but had limited lighting so that reading in the two chairs was impossible. There was an inviting bathtub but not enough hot water. Breakfast was in a beautiful room but...

I stayed here for my first visit to Scotland and it was amazing! The place is very well cared for and my room was very comfortable. It had a teapot, soft down pillows a sink and tv with built-in dvd player. Shared bathroom and showers very well maintained and no problem with waiting. Very close to downtown Glasgow, about 15...

We were at Alamo (funny name - never asked its origin) and had intended for a standard room. But due to a clerical error, we were offered an incredible room (#12!) for a lower cost - simply to accommodate us. The floodlights around the very large tub didn't work that evening but we weren't fussed about it. We were pleased...

My husband and I recently stayed for one night at Alamo Guest House. We were so impressed with both the place and the people who run it that we actually discussed coming back to Glasgow just to stay there and explore the city. We booked only for one night because we were unable to make connections to get out to...

We were in Glasgow for our daughters graduation from the university. We spent 7 days at the Alamo. This was our third visit to the Alamo. Emma and Steve are the best hosts you could ask for, the serv ice they provide is excellent. The same can be said for the staff working there, everyone was always friendly and willing...

We had a very nice time at the Alamo--it didn't disappoint. Be aware that the rooms are mostly on a "ground floor" which feels partly like a basement, and partly on the back like ground level. Wonderful hosts, very welcoming, and a nice locations--very quiet! Across from the large parks of Kelvingrove, near museums, easily walkable to the Mackintosh sites...

This was my second visit to the Alamo and it was just as good as I remembered. Nothing is too much trouble - Steve even popped round with toothpaste for me at 10.30 at night! It's tastefully decorated and really homely. It's also in the perfect location. Lastly I have to mention Flash - what a cutie :)

Dear Steve and Emma, Thanks so much for making our stay in Glasgow so wonderful! John and I so enjoyed your lovely guesthouse and you made us feel like family. Our room was beautiful as well as comfortable, we were especially happy to find your king sized bed to accommodate John's height! The wi-fi was a plus in keeping up...

We really enjoyed our stay here. Firstly our bed was extremely comfortable, a good quality mattress and good linens. Our room was large and clean and very quiet, even though it was at the front overlooking the park. The bathroom was very clean with an excellent shower. The linens and towels were of good quality. Breakfast was good, with lots...

We stayed at the Alamo Guest House for two nights. The Victorian-era Alamo clearly reflects the personality of its owner Steve, who spent five months (much of the time on his back ala Michaelango) decorating the ceiling of the breakfast room. There is great attention to the specific details of the decor, most especially in the deluxe first-floor room with...
