We enjoyed a lovely quiet room, with a comfy bed, proactive and friendly staff, and a fantastic breakfast! So many hotels in Glasgow review badly because of noise from the street and from other guests, and we picked this place simply based on reviews mentioning it as being quiet. It was exactly this, an oasis of peace and calm and a joy to come back to after shopping, eating, drinking etc. our new go to place in town … thank you!

Fantastic located Boutique Hotel right across the street from Kelvingrove Park and the vivid neighbourhood of Fienneston with Pubs and restaurants. The Alamo Guesthouse is decorated with stylish scottish pieces and furniture. Tasty breakfast is served, both british and continental and thank God NO buffet! The staff is competent, the atmosphere warm and friendly.

We chose Alamo Guest House for our first visit to Glasgow based upon reviews we read. We are happy we did. Alamo is located in a quiet neighborhood, a short taxi ride (6-8 min) from Queen Street Station. The rooms were nice and ours (#2) was comfy and well-appointed. The included breakfast was fantastic. But the real jewel at Alamo is the young staff. Tamina and Lucy helped us immensely. They gave advice, they booked dinners and taxis, and they gave us tips to enjoy our stay. We loved feeling that they cared for our needs. We had two fabulous dinners at local venues during our stay (based on staff recommendations) because Alamo is located near the great restaurant scene along Argyll Street. Lebowskis (the dude abides) had great pub food and beer. Porter + Rye offered great (really, really great) steaks. Both were within a five-minute walk. Don't bring a car here - there's very limited parking. We understand there's a new owner in charge recently and we are pleased to say that they seem to "get it." They prioritize caring for their guests. That's a good thing.

This hotel is in an incredible location, on a quiet street across from a park and walking distance to the Kelvingrove Museum. The breakfasts are made to order and fantastic! The couple who own/run the hotel are super friendly and very accommodating. We stayed in room 10, which was roomy and very beautiful. The standing tub (large enough for 2) was very nice, but we really had to be careful of water that spilled as the tile got very slick. While the private toilet room was convenient, we did not like the automatic lighting, especially when you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. It wakes up the person trying to use the bathroom half-asleep and wakes up your traveling companions due to the glass panel between the toilet room and the main room. That is the only negative. I would suggest a nightlight instead.

Another delightful stay. Everyone very kind and helpful, the room was beautifully decorated with everything we could need. The breakfasts were, of course, stunning. Perfect as usual. The location is also great for the west end - so many good restaurants and coffee places within walking distance. Really recommend for a chilled break or if you are going to something at the SEC.

Everything about our Alamo Guest House stay was exceptional. From the location in the west end next to Kelvingrove Park; our spacious, comfortable, and well furnished room; the amazing breakfasts; and finally the very friendly and helpful owners and staff. We hope to be able to stay here again sometime when traveling to Glasgow. Thank you for a great stay!

"The Guest house is beautifully decorated and extremely cozy with great care given to detail but the best part is the wonderful owners and staff. My husband had a medical emergency that was very distressing and I couldn’t have been in better care. They went the extra mile to make sure I had everything I needed. We couldn’t have been more grateful. It felt like home away from home."

We felt immediately at home here - welcoming hosts and lovely rooms next to the stunning setting of Kelvingrove Park. We fell in love with our room and the whole of the West End. We also got spot-on tips on where to eat nearby...we'll definitely be back
