Hotel's Favourite
Good relatively central location.
Our room was clean, had plenty of space, a comfy bed, central heating/air conditioning worked okay and had a bath and shower. Extra pillows were already provided. There was limited wardrobe or hanging space for a longer stay.
Extra tea, coffee, milk is readily available in reception without the need to ask.
All staff were helpful, pleasant, looked happy and attentive to me and my wife.
The restaurant is nice if basic looking and serves good food. The meal deal is the best value but for the price breakfasts are extensive. The bar/lounge area is inviting and comfortable with a good range of speciality drinks. Prices are very reasonable.
You definitely can’t check in before 3pm. Unless you've paid the extra £10 of course. There will be a decent queue on approach to 3pm.
There is a room to leave cases if you have more time on departure day.

I stayed at the Premier Inn George Street for 4 nights with my boyfriend this week. We came to Glasgow for the first time for a city break, and we love staying in Premier Inns so decided to book one. This one definitely did not disappoint.
To start with, the location is just perfect. We flew up from London and then took the airport express which took just 20 minutes to the centre of Glasgow. The bus stop was around a 7 minute walk to the hotel. We arrived really early in Glasgow but the Premier Inn very kindly stored our luggage for us so we could explore the city before checking in.
We came back around 3:30 and checked in which was a smooth experience.
Our room was on the fourth floor and was a perfect size. This Premier Inn hasn't been upgraded yet as others across the UK, but this wasn't an issue. It had a lovely big bath, powerful shower, large wardrobe and a decent sized TV.
The rooms are equipped with air con/heating and an opening window which was welcomed.
The rooms are not cleaned during your stay due to covid restrictions, but if you need anything (we asked for toilet roll) reception are very quick to respond.
We ate in the restaurant for breakfast once and dinner once and the food was very enjoyable and good value for money.
We also made use of the bar of an evening to take a drink up to our room and they again have a great selection and a great value for money.
The hotel is very busy, but isn't noisy at all and we had very undisturbed sleeps.
The location is right in the heart of Glasgow and is so close to shops, restaurants, bars and some of the sights.
Due to the international conference going on, lots of local attractions were closed for our visit but we still made the most of it and explored the Highlands and local area.
My only slight issue was on the last day, our luggage couldn't be stored due to conferences happening in the hotel, it meant we had to trek around the city with our suitcases until we were ready to go to the airport- some pre warning about this would have been nice as it is listed as a hotel facility.
Overall I would definitely stay in this hotel again if coming back to Glasgow.

Receptionist very friendly and informative at check-in and even checked that we had a quiet room looking over the back of the hotel. Usual clean rooms that you would expect at a Premier Inn on arrival although quite a pungent disinfectant smell due to the current covid requirements.
Usual noisy residents banging doors during the night - more the actual bedroom doors than the segregating doors in the corridor.
We paid for breakfast and had a table booked which was all fine but again due to Covid restrictions it was mostly table service so didn't feel like the normal Premier Inn breakfast. Had a full cooked breakfast which was 'ok' but it felt awkward getting other items as the staff are obviously not used to carrying out table service.
Great value for money but breakfast 'service' and noise during the night put a very slight dampner on the experience.

If staying in central Glasgow, we usually stay at this Premier Inn due to its location. Rooms are quiet and clean, and beds are usually comfortable. This time, the bed appeared quite soft, the aircon not working properly , and the whole place looking as if it needed a refresh.

This was our first staycation after lockdown and we decided to spend 3 nights here.
Check in was easy and there were automatic antibacterial hand sanitisers on entry.
Staff wore masks as did we inside the public areas.
Our room was a refurbished one and had been specially cleaned due to covid measures.
We chose not to have daily room cleaning and it was easy to obtain fresh towels etc off the reception staff.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt safe.

I've used this hotel on most of my visits to Glasgow as it offers a good location for exploring the city. This was first time in COVID19 times but felt safe the whole time.
Reception staff are behind screens, always wearing masks. Our room was fine, as per usual Premier Inn standard. (we'd read that some rooms had been redecorated but our room on the 1st floor hadn't)
We had to ask for additional towels and a replacement TV remote control, both requests handled with safely and in timely manner.
The car park for this hotel is opposite the front entrance at a discounted price. The lights come on as you walk around the car park, so would feel safe using in darker hours.

We stayed in the family room just above the main entrance and found the room to be very spacious. The room was clean even if a little dated and would benefit from having some moderation done to it’s fixtures. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the £10 all you can eat breakfast was well worth the price and was always well stocked with all the trimmings of a cooked or continental breakfast. Location wise it’s right in the city Center 5 min walk from George square away from the more noisier parts of the city.
Parking at this location is in a subsidised NCP parking across the road (£10 per 24hrs) which has a tight entrance for larger cars and be aware of the steep hill!!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and were totally happy with our stay.
It is situated in easy reach of lots of bars and the main shopping street.
We were welcomed by Kenneth on check in who explained that due to covid restrictions the room would only be serviced each day if we requested this the night before. We were quite happy with this and just asked for extra towels and tea and coffee making items so that we were left to enjoy our stay undisturbed.
Comfy bed and nice refreshing shower and air con.
We shall return.

Room dated and not up to the usual premier inn standards. The tv is a tiny portable size and there were no usb sockets at the bedside, in fact no socket near the bed. We asked at reception if we could change the room for another but were told they were all the same spec and offered an extension cable. Luckily my husband had taken a multi usb socket with him as if not we wouldn’t have been able to charge our phones as we don’t carry the plugs around now as usb sockets the norm! Later in the evening we tried to heat up the room as was getting really cold and the heater didn’t work. On asking about this at reception was told they could sort from there as was set for air con only. What was the point of leaving instructions on how to heat the room when cannot do so unless they switch the heat on at their control unit. Shower went hot and cold and after staying for one night we checked out early and got a refund for our other two nights. Thank goodness it was a flex booking as really not impressed with the standards at this hotel.

We stayed at the hotel for the weekend having stayed here many times before. The staff are super friendly and helpful. During these covid restricted times there are a few changes in the hotel such as daily housekeeping of your room, but you don't expect staff to clean up after you at this time. Other than that, again with restrictions for covid, the hotel has sanitiser stations everywhere and areas in the bar are screened from each other for safety. Despite the temporary change in the buffet breakfast, the staff couldn't do enough for you at table service breakfast and were always friendly and helpful.
