The Campanile Hotel garners praise for its clean rooms and prime location near the OVO arena, a highlight for concert-goers. However, guests have called out inconsistencies in cleanliness and the need for refurbishment. While the parking is convenient, many travelers find the hotel's amenities, including food service and room facilities, lacking.
The atmosphere is marred by outdated elements and a sometimes chaotic dining experience. Critical opinions are common regarding the value and service, with reports of unresponsive staff, poor management, and substandard accommodations affecting overall satisfaction.

We used to use this hotel all the time for attending concerts in Glasgow and always enjoyed the cheap and cheerful nature of it. Unfortunately, we've found that the hotel has gone downhill a little and have all of a sudden found another way of raising money at customers expense through parking charges. The parking had always been free for guests before now, but they've now introduced charges. Disappointed as this was a great selling point for the hotel. Furthermore, the rooms are starting to looks bit tired and grubby with things such as plug sockets not working or being repaired. After our next stay there, we will be finding accommodation elsewhere for our concerts.

Stayed for 1 night while attending a concert at the hydro. Location for this is great! Communication before we checked in was good. Staff at reception were nice. Parking is a bit confusing and not many spaces. Bed was comfortable and clean pillows also good. No pillow or mattress protectors on them though. 3 of us sharing one room and only 2 towels provided and 2 mugs also. Few marks on the walls. The bathroom was disgusting. There is no other words for it. The following morning we went for breakfast which I had paid for on arrival to be questioned by the breakfast person and when I said yes I paid the night before I heard her ask the receptionist loudly to check. Not very professional or nice to be made out to be a liar. Continental breakfast was simple but nice. The hot selection for me wasn't great. Husband and sons said it was fine the sausage was a bit strange. Coffee not the best either. Overall if it wasn't for the concert I wouldn't have chosen to stay here as nothing around it for food or shopping.

We book this hotel to attend a concert in the hydro as it was so near The hotel had a bar and restaurant so we arrived at 6pm as concert started at 8pm. We went to reception to order food to be told the restaurant was full and we asked if we could order food to our room to be told no. We went to concert came back in at 10.30 went to the bar 1 barmaid servicing and a queue.the bar closed at 11 pm even for residents.morning time went for out breakfast the tables were full even though we had booked bed and breakfast. One toaster that keep tripping the electric s. 2 hot drink machine that also tripped out electric s. Had to wait for eggs. This place knew how many bookings they had taken but not enough staff to cover there guests. So don’t be going to expect some thing to eat for dinner. We were told we could order a takeaway to be delivered in. The whole point of booking a hotel that advertises food in the bar was to use the facilities not go on to order food in. . Very disappointed

I rated this hotel a 2 out of 5, which is generous considering the overall experience. The hotel’s location was convenient for the event we were attending, and the beds were comfortable with clean bedding, which made for a decent night’s sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the dining staff who provided us with cutlery and clean glasses when we ordered takeout.
However, the positives end there. Our room was in a shocking state of disrepair and cleanliness. The floors were covered in dust and crumbs, the walls were stained with various marks, and the lampshades were cracked and broken. There was even a hole in the tiled ceiling. The cups provided in the room were stained, and the shower had brown marks. To top it off, the window didn’t close properly, and the radiator was non-functional, making it difficult to block out noise from outside, especially after a concert nearby. The parking situation was confusing and costly, with no discount provided by the hotel despite most hotels offering discounts for nearby parking it’s strange why they wouldn’t have an arrangement with the app since it does offer discounts on the payment page.
For the first half hour, we seriously considered leaving and finding another hotel, but since the booking was non-refundable and everywhere else was fully booked, we reluctantly stayed. While we made the best of the situation, the state of the room was a huge disappointment and not at all what was depicted in the hotel’s online photos. Next time, we’ll pay a bit more for a hotel that meets basic standards of cleanliness and maintenance.

The location of the hotel is great and situated extremely close to the OVO arena across the road which was ideal as the purpose of our stay was to watch a concert that was there that night. There is also free parking on a first come first serve basis which is ideal to take advantage of.
The overall vibe of the hotel from walking into the reception, to the room, to the restaurant and bar and back to leaving was rundown. Whilst you could tell that cleaning took place, everywhere you went felt as though it either needed an extra deep clean or to be updated and re-done. The window in the room was surrounded by black mold, the duvet under the sheet had questionable brown stains to which we didn't want to know the origin and the carpet felt too dirty to not wear shoes. Thankfully for us we only needed to stay the one night after a concert as we don't think we could have stayed any longer.
The staff whilst polite, seemed distant and were not very informative throughout the multiple interactions we had in our stay. For example, when booking into the room, there was no mention of needing to book a table in the restaurant in which we had decided to have our evening meal. This led to us being initially turned away from the restaurant when we first went in having to go back to the main reception in order to book one of the many free tables there (which by the way stayed free).
Whilst being served our food, someone I can only assume was the manager of the restaurant area decided it was appropriate to charge over to our table in order to talk to the gentleman who was putting our food down rather than wait an extra 15 seconds or so for him to be finished to which we found this quite uncomfortable and rude.
Whilst I understand that it's not a 5 star hotel, me and my partner have a combined 15+ years of experience within customer facing roles and understand the basic requirements of good customer service. The problem was not any big red flag, but lots of little small changes could make a major difference to the overall experience and satisfaction of the visit

Breakfast payment part of booking reservation went “missing “ & staff did nothing to locate it. Room smelt of weed & bathroom extractor fan on whole time, no way of switching off. Very noisy. Room not cleaned entire 3 night stay, daughter asked for more milk & coffee and was met with utter disgust from staff, also only one bed was made up & took almost 2 hours for staff to bring requested duvet & pillow. Half hearted apology, meant nothing really.

Hotel is very basic not very clean beds not comfortable pillows weren’t good either we noticed a strong odour from carpet as soon as we walked in to room considered going somewhere else but we had drove for 4 hours it was 12 pm at night . so suffered it and tried to sleep ignoring the smell could not stand on carpet with bare feet or socks for that matter used towel after showering . window wasn’t closed properly on entering the room ( can only imagine what the room might have snelled of lwith it closed maybe why it was open ) at near12 o’clock at night realised window wouldn’t close properly this the room was chilly put heater on made no difference due to it not working. We’re woken early from noise outside traffic etc due to not being able to close window very small room we needed extra bed really room wasn’t suitable for this couldn’t swing a cat .corridor’s were very bleak need upgraded. Reception seen us arrive watched us go outside to take our registration and come back in and seen us pay £12 at parking machine In reception .at no time ever were we told that we had parked in wrong carpark there must surely be cctv of carpark at hotel must be aware of the error that can be made when parking in which looks like part of hotel carpark right in front of hotel reception.the carpark all looks the same but apparently some of the carpark is private. because of this we got £60 fine through no fault of our own when we had paid £12 to park in a carpel we never used 😂 ridiculous not very helpful at all one member of staff hung up on me after trying for 3 days to get through have sent 3 emails about parking ticket have had no reply very bad customer skills 😡 We paid about £100 but on a concert night it’s between £250 to £300 pay good attention to the parking terrible hotel Avoid avoid avoid would have been better in hostel rooms

Stayed here for 3 nights to attend an event at the hydro. I thought the hotel was lovely. I was travelling with a friend and we had booked separate rooms but we wanted to be next to each other so I rang the hotel a few days before arrival and they assigned our rooms there and then. I thought that was a lovely touch when I have made the same request at other hotels I get we will do what we can answer. The room itself was clean, bed was very comfortable, duvet cover was a little thin for my own personal taste but I still had a great nights sleep every night because it was so quiet. Staff were so friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was beautiful lots of choice good selection on the hot food station. We had dinner one of the nights here the menu was very basic but delicious and plentiful we didn’t leave the table hungry. The room was cleaned throughout my stay and I was given fresh towels. This hotel deserves the 3 stars that it has. It’s met all my requirements and more. I don’t drive but car parking is available. Advice to other people don’t come to a 3 star hotel and expect 5 star luxury but if you need a comfortable place to stay near the hydro stay here

Overpriced, outdated hotel. Poor check in with little welcome . Charged for blue badge disabled parking. Did not accept cash . Were not notified of this when booking. Place smelled fousty. Had to have QR scanner on fone to download any info. Asked at check-in if needed to book for dinner and was told to just come round they opened at 5pm. Three staff were manning reception, bar , food orders and waitressing ..... flitting about from one task to another. Had no system in place for dining , repeatedly told we couldn't even order our food yet , despite going to a concert . Very basic food choices , had to pay ( by card) before order would go through. Room very small and cold with a very definite " No frills approach ". Struggled to open our door and had to be shown the " hard shoulder push" to gain access. Room ( like rest of hotel) definitely needed a bit of TLC . Returned from our concert that ended at 10.30 to a bar with an enormous queue that was closing at 11 pm , so no hope of a nightcap drink. Very few seats available in bar anyway .No Room service option . Highly disappointed with stay . It was supposed to be a treat to finish off a lovely evening. Only plus I can mention is the location is handy for shows and concerts . However I will never return or recommend to anyone. Need to overhaul the place , employ more staff to cover different areas in hotel and staff definitely need some basic training in customer care .

I had stayed at this hotel before, some years ago so booked it again based on my experience from that time. Oh dear, time has not been good and my experience this time now means I will never stay here again. The rooms are tired and need a good deep clean and redecorating.
We certainly did not expect to find mould stains on the wall and ceiling of the bathroom! My wife took one look at the shower cubicle and announced that "we are not showering in that". I had to agree - it was not inviting. There was also mould around the window of the bedroom.
I have to question how the standard of the room we stayed in is allowed to be part of the Campanile brand. For the price we paid for the room we could have gone to a Premier Inn for less money and enjoyed a better level of room.
We cannot comment on the food offering here, as based on our experience of the room we decided not to venture into the restaurant and instead got food elsewhere.
Needless to say we will not be back, and will never look at a Campanile hotel again.

Dear Guest, our check-in time is 3pm onwards. The cost of an early check in is £10 an hour, every hour prior to 3pm. Early check-in enquires are also subject to availability, and would need to be confirmed ahead of time by contacting the hotel.

If I remember correctly it is free if you request it when you make your booking, other ways I think it is something like £7.
It wasn’t very clear when booking.
