The reception area and dinning area was good. Sadly the hotel menu was very limited . Breakfast was good! was really disappointed with how outdated the rooms were. Rickety wardrobe and cabinets. The carpets were appalling and floorboards creaked. Did not have a plea sent nights sleep. I literally wanted to check out and book at a Premier Inn around the corner but I persevered as I was only there for 2 days. Wouldn’t definitely not stay here again :(

Hotel's Favourite
Excellent five star service from Rachel on reception. She arranged my room to be changed as I requested a view of the beautiful George Square, really great service. Also she signed me up to the loyalty programme which demonstrates her commitment to the future income generation and return business for the company.

Whilst I agree that the foyer and bar arrangement is excellent, particularly as it’s right next door to the station… if you have a choice, do not venture further! The lift key had to be reconfigured three times. Our room was really dark, overlooking walls.. Extremely hot even with the windows as wide as they could go.. Bed was comfy and the bathroom was excellent except it took 20 minutes for any hot water to come through… Because it was so hot we got fooled and did not wear enough clothes when we went out for the evening and as a result got very chilled. Breakfast was old fashioned, even the coffee came from a machine… It was a relief to get to the station the next morning and start our trip!

I met my friend here for a drink as she was coming to Glasgow by train and this hotel is right next to the station. The foyer and bar are lovely, nicely decorated and a good place to meet up. There is also a conservatory area which overlooks George Square, also used for drinks and meals. Fine building.

Sadly the location is about all it has going for it, which is brilliant. We visit Glasgow a lot and have stayed in a few hotels, whilst we had a great time, it wasn't due to the hotel. The rooms haven't been updated for many years, other than a grey lick of paint, which is on the furniture as well as the walls. Staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast quality was not good, produce you might expect in a low budget hotel. Given how nice the building is and it's location, I sincerely hope there is some investment made to bring this hotel to life. At present, I would not reccommend and won't revisit until it has been refurbished.
