On arrival , check in was ok . Guy on desk was very pleasant , gave us clear information about hotel. We had booked room only , so can't comment on food/ breakfast. Our room was on 6th floor, which is the top floor. Reached by 2 lifts , which are room card activated to call the lift to ground floor. The room was basic , but clean ....towels , soap and shampoo provided . Thankfully only stayed 1 night though, as from 230am to 5am , there were continual doors being slammed , and guys shouting in the corridor! If staying longer ,would have asked for a move !
My wife and I stayed here the other day. The location of the hotel is very good. Check in was at 3pm. We arrived at 5pm and our room wasn’t ready. We waited for a while and then asked and they said that our room only needed towels. They said that we could take the room and that towels would be dropped off later. Surely towels should be easily accessible so that the receptionist could quickly grab some? Anyway, for the inconvenience the receptionist kindly gave us 2 free drinks at the bar and a free breakfast which was very nice of them. Our room was specious, pretty basic, but clean and all we needed. We left the hotel for our meal out, expecting towels to be in our room on our return but unfortunately they still weren’t there. How difficult is it to get some towels? Anyway we messaged ibis on WhatsApp and when we returned from the gig the towels were there (hoora!). The bed was fairly comfortable. We didn’t sleep too great as we got hot and the cooling system in the room didn’t work too well. We were also woken by the building site which was opposite. The shower was alright, not very powerful but very roomy. It was an all you can eat breakfast which was nice enough but don’t expect high quality grub. Although it was satisfying knowing that we got it for free. It was the first hotel I’ve stayed at which had a pancake maker. Pancakes were not the best but you could have as many as you wanted which satisfied my inner greed. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We’ve been to better but there are certainly worse hotels to stay at. 3 stars is fair.…
While the rooms are well designed and are comfortable and clean, unfortunately ‘the smell’ (that others have mentioned) premeates the ground floor, the building site across the road is very noisy and many of the other guests don’t show much consideration for others when they return drunk at various times during the night and make a lot of noise. Not had much sleep in the 3 nights I stayed. Next time I visit Glasgow I will choose a quiet ‘guest house’ that doesn’t attract weekend revellers.
The smell that welcomes you is awful. Similar to a sewer. This meant we couldn’t use the reception and bar area. The room was too hot with no air con. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom wasn’t the best. The door didn’t close. The shower wasn’t the cleanest therefore we didn’t use it. There’s a step into and out and we tripped a few times! Room 534. The breakfast is served in neighbouring Novotel! Was delicious!
Stayed here for one night whilst attending a conference and dinner in the city. Was disappointed it wasn't the one in Waterloo Street which for me is much better. Its not a bad hotel just very average. Its close to the Kings Theatre for anyone wanting a cheap option close-by when catching a show. On the plus side breakfast was good.
Great hotel! Super clean, comfortable bed! We were initially apprehensive about the location but that turned out to be one of our favorite aspects of the hotel. It’s closer to the West End of the city plus it is near a train station which is a plus. During both nights of our stay we were woken up by people shouting in the hallway which was annoying but the hotel management has only so much control over it. Overall you get what ibis represents which is exactly what you need to be comfortable, not more or less.
This is a great hotel and I’ve stayed before and it’s clean, staff are nice and breakfasts (In Novotel) are fresh. One bad point to note which I’ve never experienced…make sure you don’t get first floor above entrance as noise from outside smokers when drunk is LOUD and constant and went onto 04:00 on both nights
For family reasons we had to cancel a one night stay in May 2022 , which we booked through booking . Com last august and Ibis took full payment in August last year as well …. I have asked for a refund and they refuse , will never us again on business on private use
Faultless service, at a brilliant price. Cannot say a single bad word about our overnight stay - great room, clean and modern, comfy beds, and a few lovely extras placed in the room to mark my friend’s birthday. Friendly receptionist, Raff made sure we had everything we needed, and was so personable and professional. No hesitation in recommending this great budget hotel - breakfast was fab as well. What’s not to like!
I stayed two nights in this nice city centre hotel. Check in was efficient and friendly and I was given information about the hotel's COVID-19 measures. My room was on the top floor next to the lift but I didn't hear it. The room was spacious and clean with nice refreshments - including a Tunnock's wafer bar which was a nice touch - (although I had to ask for some tea as there wasn't any in the room). The bathroom was clean and had nice toiletries, but it did have a noisy toilet cistern. There were enough towels on the first day but these were reduced down to a single towel during the housekeeping round. Environmental controls were good. The location is great for access to the city centre shopping, restaurants and bars, and the Clyde Walkway through to the OVO Hydro and Riverside Museum. It's situated at the west end of the city so you do need to climb a gradient if you're thinking of walking with your luggage from the rail station. There was also filming taking place in the surrounding streets so access was reduced at night and I had to walk a longer route to access the hotel.…
