Stayed here for 2 nights, friendly staff, clean room, everything you need, central location to bars, shops, restaurants, public transport. Highly recommend, the price for location was very reasonable, would definitely stay here again & recommend to family & friends.

Nice hotel, the room had everything you'd want, en suite, tv, tea / coffee. The big selling point is that it could not be more convenient for Glasgow city centre, Merchant City and old town, and it's inexpensive. We booked for 2 nights but went back for a third.

Room Tip: No elevators. Night club across the road gets a bit noisy at kicking out time. Get brunch at one...

We stayed two nights as we had a wedding nearby. The location for us was ideal, walking distance to shopping, food and bars. The hotel was warm and welcoming. A good security system is in place so felt safe and secure also. Room was clean and a fair size. The bed was comfortable but we felt the pillows a little too hard for our liking but that is me seriously nit picking. Great deal with parking. Will definitely use this as a base in Glasgow next time we visit.

The pictures of this hotel are from 2015. The rooms are horrific and smell stale. Signs of damp. We complained our room was dirty and asked to change rooms, we were told we could but when asked if the other room would be cleaner we were told “probably not”. We left within 30 minutes of arriving, room was not habitable. Hairs all over the bathroom, mess on the curtains and up the walls. I’ve stayed in cleaner hostels. Across the road is an adult shop, would be fine if the privacy curtains covered the whole window but they did not. The customers from the shop across and everyone in the street could see into our room. False advertising is illegal. This won’t be the last you hear from us.

Just to make all aware this is not part of a hotel chain but an independant hotel. Booking made Friday 21st October for 28/29th Oct weekend which we were looking forward to. unfortunately my wife broke her arm on the Tuesday rendering her unable to travel. Unfortunately we did not take out the cancellation option and after failed attempts to contact the property by phone and e-mail through Booking .com and direct Wednesday /Thursday we eventually contacted them on Friday morning confirming we were not looking for a refund but asking if they could move our booking to a later date in January 2023 to which we were told under no circumstances is this allowed and the best they could do was to offer a discount on any future bookings. This is the first time i have been refused by any hotel that my booking be moved to alternative dates due to unforseen circumstances and would just like to make all that read this review aware of the poor attitude at this establishment. .

I booked this hotel and unfortunately could not go due to illness. As I paid on a non refundable basis with Booking.com the hotel would not allow me to change the dates or even the name of the booking. My friend could not go to this hotel on her own or take anyone else as not booked in her name and had to pay to stay elsewhere. Please be aware when booking this hotel.

This was a basic hotel that gave us everything we needed. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful, and the room was comfortable and bright. Location in Merchant City wasn't very glamorous but was near everything we needed. The Cup Tea Room across the street was excellent for brunch. Great value for the money, but no frills. We don't need frills and would definitely stay again.

This was our second stay at the merchant city inn. Staff are excellent pleasant and very helpful. Rooms are spotlessly clean and the location is perfect for a wander through the city centre. Highly recommend we will stay there again.
