Hotel's Favourite
Well what can I say about the Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow. 5 stars just isn't enough, purely thanks to it's staff!
After spending 5 nights a week here away from my family for the past four and a half weeks on business I cannot thank the kind and caring staff enough.
I have truly been made to feel like one of the family, from meeting Geo in reception, to Allan at breakfast and George in the evening on the first few day's their hosting skills have been amazing and an 11/10 experience throughout, after spending 6-7 hours in the car each week every single member of staff have made my stay an enjoyable one, these three have been superb.
Normally you will remember the name of a single person at a hotel if you are lucky, however there are lots of dedicated and hardworking staff whom have made my stay what it is, the GM should be proud of all of his staff, I honestly could not write about every experience with each person so here is a list of everyone (that I can remember) whom I have met and from where:
Geo, Lisa, Irene, Gabriella on the front of house.
Alan, Stuart, Tammy & Ana from breakfast.
George, Vaiga, Suzi, Phillip, Savanah, Saskia and Dean from the bar and restaurant and not forgetting Dennis, from the night shift.
Of course, spending 20+ nights in 5 different rooms in any hotel in short succession will uncover the odd issue here and there with the quality of the rooms etc, but I believe overall the quality of the hotel is above average, but as previously mentioned the staff have done everything in their powers to accommodate every guest that I've witnessed them dealing with, which is incredible considering the nature and diversity of the guests that utilise this hotel, from all corners of the world.
It's not often that I write a review but it's important for me to highlight the extent that these incredible people have gone to, especially when they appear to be pretty understaffed on a regular basis, GM please take note, especially during busy gigs and breakfast with bus tours on.
On a final note I've just learnt that the haggis and mushrooms have been taken off the breakfast menu, I have personally enjoyed the haggis as I'm sure many of the overseas visitors have enjoyed tasting a famous Scottish tradition, it also allows a taster prior to ordering the haggis fritters off of the restaurant menu.
Overall a very enjoyable stay and I will absolutely be returning, for both business and pleasure in the future.

On arrival and departure staff were professional, amicable and efficient and can't complain about the (less than a £10) upgrade to breakfast for the morning on check in.
Cannot stress how close the premises are to the SSE Hydro. No more than a two minute walk from door to door - was especially handy for escaping the madness at the end of the gig. This is ideal for any concert goers.
The room was larger than expected, more than enough space to lay out your clothes, wash gear, etc. Nice sized TV and warm shower.
Breakfast was between 6:30am and 10:30am, suited myself as an early riser. Food choice was varied and tasted great, looked fresh, with nice coffee.
Would highly recommend this hotel to solo, or even duo, travellers. Great value for money and a MUST if you have a concert at the Hydro.

We stayed only one night and the room was very nice and comfortable with a lovely view across the river. The bed was comfortable and as the room was accessible in a wheelchair the bathroom was a good size and well equipped.
Really a good stay at a reasonable price.

Hotel was very media orientated by that I mean you had to order everything by an app! Food and alcohol even soft drinks, Personally didn’t like that and it made me feel very uncomfortable and the waiting staff seemed very reluctant to take your order unless you did it this particular way, thus I feel customer service was severely lacking in that area! Also noticed staff dress was jeans and tee shirt I would suggest very non hotel like, the person in who appeared to be in charge of the restaurant was very untidy, jeans, white blouse with midriff showing bare skin, wearing trainers which could do with a good clean, presentation is half the battle of a good customer relationship and in my opinion staff need to dress appropriately for their work
Also felt totally disconnected as a resident and by that I mean customers walking in off the street and getting served before you!
Ok maybe they were more up to date with the ordering procedure however hotel staff should be trained to accept not all customers prefer this method of ordering, and for me someone staying at the hotel should be a priority for the staff we didn’t feel that.
We booked Queen sized room our room 508 most certainly wasn’t what we paid for, two chairs double bed wardrobe sideboard all crammed in to a very small room as we were only there for one night stay we just decided to grin and bear it, will I book this particular Hilton hotel and probably not!
We also ate at the hotel menu was very limited menu selection at what was called the Recess bar/ restaurant, I would suggest menu was more based on a bar type menu in my opinion, however what we ate was well presented and tasty.
Plenty of sanitiser in all areas of the hotel, also wipes and various other hygiene product to protect again virus.

I had a couple of trips staying at this hotel this month, and as a guest, you feel very safe with the Covid precautions that the hotel has taken. The rooms are all stickered shut so you know that no one has entered them since they were cleaned. They're super clean as well, which is especially nice as I spent a lot of time in my room working etc. You can ask for Housekeeping to clean your room as you wish, and if you just want clean towels then they leave them in a laundry bag hanging outside on the door for you, unless you give prior permission for the staff to enter your room and take away the used towels at the same time.
Breakfast is great and the omlettes are a must. At the time of writing this, no alcohol can be served in the bar or restaurant area, but you can take a bottle of wine up to your room - all the rooms have 'fridges, so there's no problem. You can still eat in the restaurant, but if you choose not to, then you can order your food from there or the bar and take it upstairs to your room.
All the staff are incredibly polite, well turned out and helpful. Would happily stay there again.

As an Essiential Worker I've been stayed here on and off for at least 50 nights so far in 2021 due to Covid Restrictions, and can't praise the staff and accommodation ant higher.....
Firstly I must commend them on their Covid Safety measures, lots of Hans sanitiser and alcohol wipes throughout the hotel plus well signposted guidance and one way systems.
The rooms are compact but well laid out, comfy bed, good work station and all rooms have a fridge, which for me is a must when I stay away from home. Rooms have small compact bathrooms with a good walk in shower and free toiletries.
As a Hilton Diamond member am entitled to a free breakfast but would highly recommend spending a wee bit extra on it as it's still excellent value and good quality.
I should advise at this current time they are not servicing rooms every day due to Covid but they will service your room if you request at reception when you wish it done.
Finally this Hotel may lack the hip factor of other local hotels in the area but this is more than made up by the excellent and helpful staff there....
I cannot recommend this hotel high enough and it is indeed a home from home when I stay there, but I really look forward to staying in non restricted days....

We are just back from a fantastic 2 night stay in this hotel. We loved every moment of it.
The reception area is clean and bright with welcoming staff. The room we had, had a river view and it’s stunning. The restaurant has a great menu and breakfast was outstanding at £10.00 per head. We could have as much as we wanted and being both dairy free AND gluten free, this was heaven.
The staff toasted us gluten free bread both mornings ( very much appreciated)
The outside seating area by the river is a lovely place to sit and have a drink or just chill. Although it was March the sun shone and the glass screens protect you from the wind. Very well thought out.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we do intend to use this hotel again

My husband and I stayed here a Friday night in September just to get away from home for the night. We had a deal booked through my hotel break which included dinner, b&b and a bottle of wine with dinner.
Check in/out was fast and efficient with excellent social distance measures in place (all round the hotel). We had a queen river view room which had views along the Clyde.
Plenty of seating areas outside (we were lucky with the weather) with great views.
Dinner was lovely (2 courses) and breakfast also buffet style too (masks must be worn)
Great location for getting into Glasgow city or try the pubs in finnieston which is 5-10 mins walk
We thought parking was payable but turned out no charge 😊
Would definitely stay here for an overnight again!

All staff were very polite, extremely helpful and professional in every department. Special mention must be made for Allan in the breakfast team and Veronika in Housekeeping, both of whom went above and beyond the call of duty. The breakfast was exceptionally good, with great choices, including vegan and gluten-free options. The stay was marred at dinner one night when the two of us had steaks, one rump and one rib-eye, both of which were sent back due to grizzle, fat and being virtually inedible. The waitress was very apologetic and offered us desserts as compensation. The room was very cold and difficult to get warm with the A/C unit. The hotel is a good 40 minutes walk from the centre of Glasgow.

Good Afternoon Pascalejohn, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us here at the Hilton Garden Inn. I am pleased Allan and Veronika looked after your during your stay our team are our largest asset to us here at the hotel. I am sorry you had some issues with the steaks you ordered, but i am pleased our team dealt with this quickly and effectively. The hotel is a short walk from the city and depending on speed of walking this can take between 15-40 minutes. Due to the recent cold weather it can take slightly longer for the rooms to reach your desired temperature. We have adjusted our system to ensure this is effectively done as soon as possible. I do hope you decide to visit us again soon. Kind Regards Jason McGougan Operations Manager

+1
Stayed here for 2 nights, the hotel is in a good location for exploring Glasgow and if you are attending secc/hydro for concerts.
When we checked in, we were told we could have the car in the hotel car park for free as the room we have been allocated is a “scaffolding room” work is being done on the outside of the hotel - which we weren’t made aware of at the time of booking for 3 nights @ £400 odd.
9am the next morning we were woken to drills/hammers etc. So much for relaxing.
When I visited reception later that day, I was behind 2 other people checking in, they were told they could have complimentary breakfast due to the scaffolding….
The decor is tired in the rooms, stains on bedding/chair/dressing table/carpet. The hair dryer I pulled out of the drawer was an absolute hazard - how anyone thought this was safe in any way is beyond me. I called to get a replacement but had to go down myself later as no one had addressed my issue.
Breakfast buffet is standard
Dinner menu is very limited and over priced.
Hilton prices for weatherspoon / travel lodge standard.
The lift is a nightmare also so if you have mobility issues I would think again.
About £4.50 for a 25ml measure and £1.50 for a dash of juice in it.
Handy location but I won’t be returning.
