Lovely area of the West End near to all travel options please take advantage of the botanic gardens which are very close .Rooms are small but comfortable and quiet if you are driving plenty of parking breakfast good .
Central location to access central Glasgow with excellent links by bus or subway and two taxi ranks nearby. Byres Rd has a number of vibrant bars and restaurants within walking distance. The purpose of our visit was to visit family for a few days and again The Ambassador was a great location for access to them. We actually stayed in one of the adjacent Embassy apartments which was equipped with a fridge, cooker and a toaster which were a welcome surprise as we were able to chill drinks and food and make toast but you could cook a full meal if desired. There was plenty of room to hang clothes and store personal effects. The room was clean and serviced daily. The addition of a safe in the room would be beneficial. Sam was duty manager for the duration of our stay and was very friendly and particularly helpful regarding access to parking arrangements. He was also persistent in chasing the water board to fix a blocked drain outside the hotel. Overall great value!…
What a find! Absolutely beautiful! My family and I stayed here 2 nights while seeing Scotland and it was by far one of the biggest rooms. They offer free parking, and if you are lucky like us you will get a spot right in front. It's located right across the street from the Botanical Garden and is perfectly located close to all the hot spots.I would defiantly stay here again.
This is a good hotel run on minimum resources. We stayed in a large apartment room with a high ceiling, kitchen area as well as a sofa and bathroom. The man at reception also served breakfast and seemed to be stretched in terms of things to do. The breakfast in the morning was sufficient and tasty. The coffee came from a machine.
We stayed here as a couple as we were attending a family wedding. The location is perfect for the West End with on street parking and a car park around the back. It looks onto the Botanic Gardens and it does have a lovely quiet feel. We were welcomed by a very helpful man who was there to answer any questions. Our room was very comfortable with everything we could possibly need and I can honestly say we had one of the best nights sleep ever. Usually I sleep poorly in hotels as the beds aren’t comfy or it’s too hot but this was perfect. Breakfast was also delicious and freshly prepared to order. Another mention for the nice man on reception (wish I’d got his name!) who brought up an iron and ironing board for me whilst doing lots of other things. He truly is a credit to your hotel. We will definitely return and if anyone is in any doubt of booking her - just go for it and support a local business rather than a giant nameless chain.…
We stayed in a 3 person room, my daughter was auditioning at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the location was perfect for a quick drive or 20 min walk to the Conservatoire. It is also right on the doorstep of the botanical gardens which we enjoyed whilst she was auditioning. The room was large with comfortable beds and shower room. We even had a comfy sofa. There was a table and chairs which was perfect as we ate in to keep our budget down. We had tea and coffee which was replenished as soon as we requested. Breakfast was in ready supply and tasty. Absolutely fantastic value for money.
Great little hotel. Lovely staff. The electric shower more of a warm caress than a torrent, but the room and bed really nice! Because they were so busy and I booked my second night last minute I had to change rooms and both were really nice. The single room overlooked the river Kelvin with the botanical gardens and the West End the other side. They couldn’t have been more helpful and I’ll be staying there again.
Nice and clean room, good space to work at if needed (single room). Close to all the amenities in West End, so an ideal location. Quiet at night. Good bathroom/shower. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star is that due to being an old/rebuilt building, you can hear what’s going on in next door room (including muffled parts of conversation). I would stay again and I would recommend to others!
Having used the Ambassador over a number of years I can recommend it for it's location and it's continuing standard of cleanliness. The rooms we have stayed in have all had good basic facilities with comfortable beds.
Staff very pleasant .room was really big with comfy beds warm shower heating was cosy and warm will go back again handy for west end. lovely hotel with apartments also. we stayed in apartments as needed downstairs room due to mobility problem
