This guest house is in a pretty, quiet neighbourhood within walking distance of Byers Rd., botanic gardens, Kelvingrove museaum, the university.....amoung others. Clean, with friendly staff and owners. Nice breakfast delivered to your room each morning. There is a nice lounge with lots of travel books etc... to help plan your stay. The West End is the location you want in Glasgow! The Edwardian townhouse built in the early 1900s is being maintained as an historic place: expensive pictures on the walls, books, big rich old furniture, big potted plants inside and outside beautiful window boxes. The place feels like a step back in time with all the modern conveniences: breakfast brought...

We chose this location, because we wanted quiet, yet convenient hotel. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Douglas. He gave us a map to help us get around. We had no difficulty in finding restaurants or a food store to buy wine. The bus [#6 or #6A] were close by and took us to central Glasgow. We also used...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. We had a lovely stay here. A very quiet and peaceful location but also in very convenient walking distance to shops and the train station. This lovely guest house is very warm and cosy. The room was nice and spotless. Breakfast was brought to your room on a tray and was...

We loved staying here as the access to the town was easy by train or by car. The host Doulas and Rosemary are very welcoming and the place has a special feel about it. The breakfast in your room is perfectly cooked and delivered on time to the minute!

We stayed during the Commonwealth Games. The Kirklee is in a good West End location, 10 minutes walk from the University (and a specialist ice cream parlour on Byers Road that we frequented regularly!) The owners are very friendly and the hotel is well run. We had a big room with a nice view; breakfast by the windows was delightful....

Kirklee Hotel is a wonderful B&B in the west side of Glasgow. It is walking distance to Byers Road, a great shopping and eating destination in the city. Also, one of the highlights of our trip was the Glasgow Botanic Gardens which included a wonderful Victorian greenhouse as well as a more recently built greenhouse. The host and staff were...

The Kirklee is a fantastic place to stay. This was my third visit there and the first time I have brought my family. We had a large family room on the second floor that overlooked the gardens. As others have mentioned, Doug and company cannot do enough to help make your stay in Glasgow a pleasant one. Byres Road (a...

This was a wonderful hotel in a great part of Glasgow...the West End. It's close to the Botanical Gardens and the University. It's also walking distance from Byres Rd, a veritable feast of great restaurants (The Ubiquitous Chip is a place you must go for delicious food and great service). Breakfast was served in our room at the Kirklee, brought...

Hyndland is an architecturally fascinating area of Glasgow to visit and the Kirklee creates a perfect base and atmosphere to enable this. Slightly disappointed not to get some balck pudding in my 'traditional scottish breakfast' but it's the sort of place they would have added if I had asked.
