Very central for west end and city centre, bus stop right outside hotel to get to city centre number 3 or 77, don’t know about parking
Hotel extremely clean and staff work early for breakfast 7-8.30 then off to start hard work again but in rooms, lots of stairs so if you’ve health issues maybe email ahead to request aground floor room, also 1 flight down for the breakfast room.

Thank you to Mary & he team and fir Alex for her work on cooking the breakfast. Well done guys yiur doing an amazing job
Check in and out was easy, no where to story luggage but staff allowed us to check in when we arrived 11am and leave our bags in reception on day we left.
Lots of places nearby for visiting. Charing cross station is 20 min walk, definitely recommend a visit to Balloch and Loch Lomond, 6.30 return and 14 cruise worth it. If i ever find my self in glasgow again, i would probably come back here. Thanks for a lovely stay
Throughout our stays, staff were kind and thoughtful, and did their best for us. Rooms with problems were promptly swapped, and others cancelled or extended without fuss. i would go back, and recommend The Sandyford as a good place to stay, for whatever reason. There are many restaurants to choose from, and places of interest to visit, it is also well served by buses!
On the plus side, the bed linen was clean and fresh and so were the towels. The location is perfect for exploring the city. Although there is no dedicated parking, you can easily park very close on the street. The wifi was very good.
However, the negatives outweigh the positives. The hotel is incredibly dated. The carpets throughout are really, really grubby and stained. The carpet in our room was thick with (what I assume) is months of thick dust all over the carpet by the bed. The bathroom, although clean, was screaming for an upgrade (think 1970’s peach) and the shower cubicle was tiny. That said, the hot water was plentiful. In general, the room could do with a repaint and overall modernisation. Our room faced the main street and we could hear road noise throughout the night. The high ceilings in the stairwells must make cleaning a nightmare but they are literally hanging with dust. Incidentally, if you have mobility issues there are no lifts either.
We didn’t stay for breakfast so can’t comment on that.
I made the booking via booking.com and told the lady at the check in that I had paid. She insisted I had not and I ended up paying twice. She was very apologetic when she realised and rectified it quickly but this might be worth noting for other prospective guests.
I had contacted the hotel prior to arrival to ask about taxi fares and transport to the hotel-unfortunately I did not receive any replies to my emails. However, once at the hotel the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful.
The hotel is dated and in need of some TLC, however the bed linen was clean. Standards of housekeeping throughout our stay left something to be desired though!
As other contributors have said there is no lift.
Breakfast is servied until8.30a.m. weekedays and 9.15a.m. weekends. Continental is buffet style with hot food served to table.
There is a reasonable choice of cold and the hot food I had was always what I expected-good sized portions and served hot. Room is small and chaotic( not relaxing!)
Overall it is 3* and reasonable value for money.
They let us leave our bags in the morning then put them in our rooms for us.
Rooms were a good size, clean and cosy on arrival. en suite clean and sufficient.
The breakfast was amazing better than 4 * hotel.
Not far from City centre 30 min walk or £6 taxi.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. They even phoned to let me know i had left my glasses then posted them back to me for a small charge.
