Took my daughter away for the night here last week and had a wonderful stay. I upgraded to the Executive Suite with 2 bedrooms on the 15th floor and the views were amazing. This also gave us access to the Executive Club Room which provided a continental breakfast, soft drinks and tea, coffee etc during the day and free wine or beer in the evening. My bed in the room was big and comfortable though the tv could have been bigger. Had dinner at night which was tasty and plenty of it and in fact I couldn't finish it. Breakfast was lovely too with plenty of choice in the buffet. All in all a great stay and worth every penny, will definitely stay again.
Supposed to be a premium room, TV was tiny compared with other 4 ihg group hotels we have stayed in recently.Club lounge was unmanned and a guest came in and sat there with bare feet.We were not offered the breakfast as an amenity for Diamond status. This hotel rooms are becoming dated which is a shame as most of the staff are excellent.Been here a number of times but will struggle to come back.
My friend and I have just had thee most amazing massages from JAC and JETMIRA at the Riverside Beauty at the Riverside Crown Plaza in Glasgow. The girls are very professional but also friendly enough to make you feel very much at ease. The beauty rooms are spotless and the oils and treatments are second to none. I would recommend either of the girls, all in all a great experience. Thank you so much, JAC and JETMIRA.
We went to use the spa facilities. Firstly we stood for ages waiting for someone to come to the spa reception to help us. A good ten minutes standing there. Once we got into the spa the entire place was dirty and covered in dust and hairs! We didn’t bother to shower after the swim and quickly got dressed and just had showers at home. Changing rooms(pictured) were just boggin. Had I been a guest in the hotel this would’ve been a massive disappointment and it did put me off staying in the hotel. Cleanliness of a spa facility seems like a major priority for hygiene. We also received a £100 parking ticket from the hotel which we had to phone them directly to cancel as we were guests! Unnecessary stress. Won’t return.
The hotel is ideally positioned for gigs at Ovo Hydro just a two minute walk away. The hotel is clean, the bedrooms spotless, nice shower room, and good breakfast. What lets it down (and this is the second time its happened in 2 months), is that the Hotel must and do know when gigs are finishing, and yet they again fail to put enough people behind the bar to cope. Queues of up to 20 people at each side of the bar, and only two bar staff, and eventually a third. Still not enough by a long shot. Half an hour wait to get a drink is just sloppy management. Will it effect my decision to stay there the next time? Yes probably.
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza this past Monday night for a show at the Hydro. We booked a twin room which was well equipped and a good size, with comfy single beds, and a nice size bathroom. We were on the first floor and still had a great view of the riverside. I would imagine the views higher up are very impressive of the city. My only issues with the room was firstly the shower pressure, this was very poor compared to even budget hotels such as the Premier Inn and Travelodge, for a Crowne Plaza in a such an ideal location I do think this should be looked into. Also the TV in the room was very small and in need of an upgrade, maybe one mounted to the wall to make the room feel that bit more modern. The hotel is in an ideal location for the Hydro and SECC, only around a 2-3 min walk which is perfect for after a gig, and a 25 min walk down the river to Central Station. The reception area, bar and restaurant are particular impressive looking and created a nice atmosphere in the lobby area. We didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening so can’t comment on the food but the breakfast in the morning was outstanding and well worth the money. The bar is well stocked although very pricey, the pints were more expensive than in the arena, but it was fine for a late drink after the show. We used the leisure facilities at the hotel which are free to use including a gym , swimming pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. The pool is a good size and everything was nice and clean and in good working order, however the gym is a bit small and outdated, they could do with upgrading the running machines specifically which were very rattily. There is a huge car park at the hotel with plenty of spaces, it is advertised on the website at £7.50 per night however the hotel staff said this was free to use, so I’m not sure if this has changed recently. I did phone the hotel yesterday to double check this as I didn’t want to get a parking fine, and they informed me that as long as the car is registered on the reception, the parking is overridden and free to use. I would just like to thank the reception team for reassuring me of this and they were incredibly helpful. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are going to a show at the Hydro, and we will no doubt be back next time we have a night away in this area.…
Very friendly staff, lovely stay. We stayed here for a couple of nights. Having upgraded to the King Suite we loved the amazing views and comfort of the hotel. All the staff were very friendly, and we enjoyed the comfortable stay. Great breakfast, too. Would gladly stay here again.
We arrived at a busy time for checking and our room wasn't yet ready, but staff were exceptionally polite and helpful, given free drinks at bar for the duration of our wait, room was lovely and exceptionally clean, nice view, beds were comfortable. Staff were always polite and attentive, will definitely stay here again.
Booked this hotel 2 years to stay for a two night trip, due to COVID of course, it was pushed back twice. Finally arrived on Saturday 28 May for a two night stay. Check in was a bit of a pickle, due to a "mix up" IHG had my booking for 30 May to 2 June ! Upon seeing my frustration, our check in lady Irene, handled the situation perfectly, she was calm, good humoured and very helpful. She found an executive room for me, same as I'd originally booked. Irene is a real credit to the Crowne Plaza, my friend and I had plenty of chats with her and she gave excellent advice on where to go in Glasgow. Big shout out please to her, hopefully her manager reads this. Rest of the stay was very nice, Room 1507 was directly opposite the Executive Lounge and could be a little noisy with doors banging, (that's people for you), the room had fabulous views of Glasgow waterside and overlooked the OVO Energy Arena. The room was a little tired and did have a few nasty stains on the carpet, bathroom was clean and had an excellent rain shower. Bed was comfortable however. Check out was smooth and efficient.…
Been wanting to try this hotel for ages. My daughter and I visited for a concert at the OVO. Check in was quick and easy. The hotel is the largest hotel I have ever visited it has a nice open and bright feel on entry. Our room was very basic for a 4/5 star hotel but the view was absolutely spectacular. Could have done with a slightly more comfy bed as ours was quite lumpy. Also some questionable on the carpet. None of these minor issues made our stay any less worse. We had a glorious view and lived the swimming pool(the main reason we booked). Will definitely use this hotel again
