Reception and Front of House give the wrong impression of this Hotel. Step into you room and you are met with tired and drab decoration, tatty repairs and a bathroom from the 50's, stained and cracked grouting and sealant applied by a 5 years old. We are regular weekend visitors to Glasgow and normally stay in an IBIS Styles just around the corner but thought we would try this one for a change....big mistake.

Was very pleasant. I thought the hotel was very attractive and had nice staff.I didn’t have the pleasure of eating here but have had a drink here recently and thought it was fine. The room was spacious and had really everything I needed.

Came to visit Glasgow for a football event at weekend. The staff were brilliant, especially Nick who made sure our room was ready for an unexpected early arrival. Our room was spotless, and had everything we needed. A bit hot but Nick made sure we had a fan available for our room. Came down for breakfast in the morning and there was so much to choose from. Please thank Stacey and the chef for the ‘special eggs’. Nothing was too much trouble and I will definitely be visiting again on our next visit to Glasgow.

This is the first hotel I have visited in the UK with a sign in the bathroom warning me that the water was not safe to drink! On enquiring, I was offered a supply of water in jugs and reccomended to boil any tap water in the provided kettle! The hotel was pleasant if a little dates]d and in need of a bit of loving care, again in the bathroom where the grouting was somewhat broken. However, as usual, a pleasant experience in a very pleasant city. I recommend the refurbished Burrell Collection

Start with the positives. Great location, swift check in procedure, clean room, friendly staff and a 24 hour bar. Negative’s were the room was extremely hot and my room was very noisy due to the street and the businesses surrounding the hotel. It’s city center so can’t complain to much. We probably use again if the price was right.

Recently attended family wedding reception in this hotel. From the outset this was a shambles. There was no meet and greet on arrival, all guests were sent to the room where the reception was to take place and were here with no staff attending or serving at the bar. Eventually we were told to return back upstairs to receive our welcome drink. We were then sent back to downstairs where we were to have the wedding meal and reception When the first course of the wedding dinner arrived, the menu started this was supposed to be lentil soup, which I had selected from the choices offered. However the soup I received had not been within 100miles of a lentil, then the main course arrived and the least said about that the better. Well at least the pudding would be ok, I mean they couldn't mess up sticky toffee pudding and custard, wrong custard was presented about 15 mins after pudding plates had been cleared away. We were then told to return upstairs to allow room to be readied for reception. It was at this point we were informed that there was only bottled beer available costing £4.40 for 440ml bottle, when the groom complained he was informed by the lady in charge "nobody is going to leave because they couldn't get a pint" This in fact was not true as my wife and Iet several of the wedding guests in a bar around the corner from hotel. The final straw was the non appearance of the DJ, this cost had been included in the cost of the reception. All in all an extremely disappointing day for the wedding party, who were both embarrassed on what should have been an amazing day . Very bad show from management at Mercure.

Hi Eamonn Thankyou for taking the time to leave us a review. At Mercure Glasgow we pride ourselves in ensuring our events are run smoothly and providing our guests with a wonderful night to remember. This is shown by the number of previous great reviews that we have received over the years. Unfortunately on this occasion there were a few hiccups that were beyond our control. We all worked hard to resolve these issues as quickly as we could, to ensure that the night did not end too badly. We have been working with the Bride and Groom on these and we are sorry that this had a negative impact on everyone.

18 of us stayed here for a friends Hen party. When we arrived the receptionist had all our key cards ready and check in was really easy. We had an issue with none of our key cards working, however, reception apologised and sorted this quickly for us. We booked through a 3rd party event organisation who put 12pm check out on my confirmation, however, at check in we were told this was 11am. Once I explained what my confirmation had the hotel sorted this out for us no problem at all. The double rooms are quite small, however we were only using this to sleep anyway so wasn't a huge issue. The twin rooms had a bit more space. Room sizes aren't overly big. Rooms were fine for what we needed them for. I can't comment on what is included (i.e. tea, coffee etc), as we genuinely weren't in the room long enough need anything other than a bed to sleep in. We required an accessibility room which was on the 4th floor. This did confuse me (what if there were an evacuation) however didn't cause any issues as both lifts were working and there weren't' any evacuations. Hotel has 2 accessible lifts, toilet down stairs from reception and easy night time access thanks to the night porters. I had an issue on my return to the hotel where I had picked up a friends key card instead of my own. The night porters were lovely and sorted this out quickly for me (I then locked myself out my room and they helped with that too ha, they must have been wondering what the heck I was doing). Nothing was a hassle for them. Upon everyone's return from a club at 3am, we all sat in the reception having a giggle about our drunken day. The 2 night porters must have wondered what had hit them. Hat's off to them for putting up with us until 5am. Being able to sit in the warmth, all together and had a laugh with our kebabs really was the perfect ending to our night with our soon to be bride. Thank you to both the gentlemen on shift and thank you for putting up with our rubbish chatter (we found our missing friend ha). Breakfast was lovely. The restaurant definitely isn't big enough for the hotel, this section is really small and doesn't hold a lot of people. 17 of us all rocked up for breakfast and there were no seats. The staff were amazing and re arranged the furniture for us in the reception area and were were all able to sit together and have our breakfast. It is buffet style with your usual cereals, pastries, fruit juices, full English. Just what we all needed after a day/night out. Thank you to the chefs for sorting us right out after a day/night of drinking. We can't thank the hotel enough for our stay. You really went above and beyond to ensure we were all comfortable and had a great night. Location is perfect for a night out in the city. Definitely recommend.

We held my partner's 50th Birthday party in the Buchanan suite of the Hotel. The Hotel staff and Events staff were absolutely amazing and did everything to make the party a success. I can't thank them enough. Part of the deal was a nights stay in the hotel with a bottle of Prosecco for my partner and I which was a lovely touch. I would highly recommend this hotel for a special occassion and for a hotel stay. MERCURE HOTEL YOU ARE AMAZING! :) THANK YOU!
