I’ve stayed here 3 times over the past 5 years. I really like the hotel and you can’t beat it for the price. Very good free breakfast buffet. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5, not all rooms are equal, some are very small although the last one we had was very nice. Nice staff. Convey to the city center and Kelvingrove park

We are regular visitors to the Argyll hotel but have been absent for 2.5 years because of covid. The manager took advantage of the situation and really made a few updates which are really good. The outside decking and seating area are absolutely amazing with beautiful plants and herbs to complement the delicious vegan and vegetarian options on offer. The buffet and full Scottish breakfast are hearty and tasty also plentiful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable also very clean. The staff are well trained and friendly. Here you get 5star service at 3star prices. Well done to Bobby and Linda your attention to our every whim is much appreciated. We will be back in October. Margaret and Paul

Had an overnight stay for a gig at the hydro. Walking distance from hydro and also not far from town and west end. Friendly reception, room was a bit worn but it was comfortable and clean. The restaurant is bright and there was relaxed friendly atmosphere at breakfast. You don't expect the restaurant to be what it is as it's in the basement. Staff willing to help go through gluten free options, they have porridge and bread.

We were there for our sons graduation, it was a perfect location for that. Our other son has special needs, the staff were lovely with him and made us all feel extremely welcome. Breakfast was second to none, food fantastic and lots on offer. There was even a decent option for gluten free needs, the staff were so accommodating and very attentive to everyone that came to eat. I would seriously recommend this hotel as it provides a very comfortable stay for a very competitive price. This hotel has a big heart and makes you feel valued.

Hi , So I would like to make a complaint about my stay, which I wasn’t very happy with and won’t be back . First of all let me say I will be sending this email then leaving a lengthy review for everyone to see . As we got into our room there was a stain on the double bed not the middle or bottom but at the top , highly Unhygienic , and not acceptable . No one answered the phones to deal with this situation. 2. We had PAID For breakfast included to which your server placed my child’s breakfast down to them and because it was the wrong egg I asked it to be changed to then be shouted at “that’s not what you ordered I’ll get your order and marched away . To which your server then came back to my table while my self partner and 3 children were sitting to shout again “. Your server didn’t ask what eggs he wanted so presumed yet that was my child’s fault I do not come to a hotel to be shouted at in a full restaurant of people or in-front of my family when im the paying customer. 3. I asked for scrambled eggs for my own breakfast to which they never came so I was left without one as my family had then finished to which they still never came so we left 4. The BINS out side your property at the back . Absolutely disgusting and I think you should have pest control out there with the amount or rats at them or get the bag put in the bins & then empty. Absolutely disgusted and unacceptable for a hotel to have rats floating about out side of it . Especially when your charging £134 per night . I will be requesting a full compliant be made and I will be calling the environment health too.

Comfortable and clean room close to amenities. Was able to leave our luggage securely until check-in time allowing us to explore the local Art Gallery and beautiful Kelvin Park and Botanic gardens. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast facilities and plenty of choice. Good value. Would definitely consider when next visiting Glasgow.

Just staged here for 3 nights during a 3 night music festival at the OVO Hydro, the staff were lovely, rooms were cosy and warm, the breakfast was amazing! Particularly the scrambled eggs. The hotel itself was clean, and all COVID protocols were followed. We had an amazing 3 days and this hotel did it’s part in assisting that! So much so that we’re booked for next year! Thank you Argyll Hotel

Stayed 2 nights in the Argyll Hotel and received a warm welcome for the lady on reception on the evening of Monday 29th November. I don't know her name but she was extremely pleasant and helpful. We had a nice room, with 4 poster bed, which we choose because it has and en suite bathroom rather than just a shower. The room was clean although the carpet could have done with a shampoo or being replaced. One thing that could be improved is having a mirror near a power point as I had to dry my hair without being able to look in the mirror. Another point is that there is not a full length wardrobe so my coat was crumpled up in the bottom. This would be the same if you had a long dress. There was some noise from traffic and a few late night revelers but on Sauchiehall Street that is to be expected. The hotel itself is nice with tartan decor throughout. On the whole our room was very comfortable but when we returned in the evening I discovered that my face cloth had disappeared! I had left it lying on the edge of the bath and I can only presume that the cleaner thought it was a cleaning cloth! The service at breakfast however could be improved. I wanted to order my porridge right away so I could eat it while my partner ate his fruit salad and then order our cooked breakfast. Unfortunately at the Argyll Hotel they seem unwilling to do this and want you to order everything together. The result was that the waitress brought my cooked breakfast,(eggs, tomato, mushrooms) at the same time as my porridge. I explained I wanted to eat my porridge first and the rest of my breakfast would get cold. She apologised and took the cooked breakfast away. We are trying to follow a reasonably low fat diet and asked if there was low fat flora margarine instead of butter. The waitress brought some margarine in a dish but we had no way of telling what it was. It is worth noting that they offer a vegan breakfast but only have butter on the tables. My porridge was so hot that by the time I had finished it my partner had finished his breakfast and had to wait while I ate the rest of mine. The staff were clearing away the breakfast things so we felt rushed. Breakfast is from 7am until 9.30am on a week day but you have to be there by 9am so you can finish by 9.30am. This was a little too early for us and we would have preferred if the breakfast time could have gone on a little later. On our second morning we arrived for breakfast in good time and I tried to order my porridge straight away but we were told to sit down and help ourselves to the cold buffet and they would come to take our order. I explained I would like my porridge before the rest of my cooked breakfast and asked for 2 tomatoes ie one whole tomato rather than half a tomato, mushrooms and one poached egg. My partner ordered the vegan breakfast with the addition of one egg. The waitress said "two eggs" and brought him 2 eggs with his breakfast. Both mornings he said the beans in his ramekin dish were cold. My porridge was served along with my partners cooked breakfast and was so hot I had to wait for it to cool down. By the time I finished my porridge the bowl was still hotter than the ramekin dish of beans had been immediately it was served! By the time I had finished my porridge my partner had finished his entire breakfast and once again had to wait for me to eat mine. When my breakfast arrived it was only barely warm and I was only given half a tomato and 2 eggs! What is it with the Argyll Hotel that they insist you have 2 eggs when you have only ordered one? I don't think a whole tomato is too much to expect when I was only having tomato mushrooms and a poached egg! Once again staff were clearing away the breakfast things and I felt a bit rushed which was disappointing as I had sat waiting for my order to be taken. We like the Argyll hotel and found all the staff friendly and pleasant. We would return when in Glasgow again but feel with a few improvements at breakfast it could be better.

Hi LotusBlossomreviews, thank you very much for this lovely review! I'm sorry to hear you felt rushed during breakfast. At the moment due to covid restrictions we run a half an hour breakfast schedule so all of our guests get the opportunity to enjoy breakfast without being cramped or in close proximity. This is for our staff and guests safety during these difficult times. This is why your porridge was served at the same time as your cooked breakfast. We're sorry this wasn't to your standard but we thought it better you get all your food rather than feeling unsatisfied, but please do accept my apologies. We also offer a vegan butter if requested. We love to see that you would stay again and hope we can welcome you to our hotel again soon!
