Stayed here solo this weekend for one night - tacked onto the beginning of a work trip elsewhere. Pros - Fairly convenient location - Quick check-in and helpful staff - Overall pleasant enough - Frozen daiquiri was very good - Adequate room facilities - Comfy bed (although I wish they would offer non-feather pillows) Cons - Not great from the outside - round the corner the entrance to the Hilton ballroom absolutely littered with cigarette butts etc. - Room facilities while adequate weren’t great considering the price. Standard coffee sachets in a wardrobe, not so much as a biscuit with them. Have stayed in hotels 1/3 the price with nespresso machines in the room. No fridge, no water. - THE NOISE. The door had to be the most poorly fitting hotel room door I have ever encountered. Slept terribly after being woken up at 1am by a group of men coming back to their rooms, not being able to find one of them, in and out of the others leaving the doors to bang. Could hear absolutely everything and same again with normal conversations happening in the corridor at 7.30am. Do not expect to sleep well here - you will hear EVERYTHING gonna on outside your room. Have included pic of the gap round the door. - The indoor pool was far from relaxing - swelteringly hot room and absolutely full of kids. I booked this hotel over others with the intention of a couple of hours chilling out but it is impossible here. Couldn’t even swim up and down as there were so many children (7pm) and there are only 2 loungers and 2 chairs. The steam room and sauna are also on a high mezzanine up a spiral staircase..?? Very odd Wish I had just booked one of the other cheaper hotels and not bothered. They had also run out of locker padlocks so couldn’t offer me one. - Despite the extensive panelling on the wall with tv & mirror incorporated, they still somehow couldn’t manage to conceal all the tv cables which is just weird. - The ceiling in the entrance part of my room was made of filthy metal panelling. No idea what was going on there. Have added photos. Looked like it wasn’t finished, yet there was coving. - Many of the rooms, mine included, overlook just a grubby industrial looking roof in the middle of of the higher levels.…
We visited Glasgow as a family. Two adults, two teenagers. The hotel was really busy, though the service was excellent and the breakfasts fab. My son is coeliac and this is the best place he's ever stayed for gluten free breakfast. We chose the hotel due to having a car park, gym and pool. My son said the gym was very small - bit of a shame the leisure club is on the ground floor and you have to walk slightly through reception. It was a bit odd, that there wasn't any soap at all in the bathrooms - we had two rooms. When I asked at reception, they gave us body wash. I think it was a covid issue, but we've stayed elsewhere and had soap. As we arrived late one night, we had limited early breakfast option the following day, despite being Honours member. It would be great if you could book your breakfast slot online beforehand, like you can your rooms. We booked later for the following days though. The bar was lovely and the prices weren't that expensive either, which surprised me.…
To start with very disappointed , our checking was smooth though. When asked for assistance with the luggage they just told us to take the trolly and help our selves When in room there is not a single bottle of water , and upon asked they said only some rewards members or other type of rooms will be given but not standard room . Which hotel does that ? That too HILTON .
