This is one of the loveliest boutique hotels I have had the pleasure of visiting. The room was quite spacious and beautifully appointed. The staff was attentive and friendly and take great pride in this property. The breakfast buffet was extremely generous and the bar/sitting room was a perfect spot for quiet conversation, relaxation, and reflection. I hope to return... More

First of all the negatives..... Although we are fairly fit 60 somethings' climbing 2 flights of stairs several times a day can be a challenge and as the hotel has no lift there really is no other option. The room itself had everything to hand, a coffee machine, water, fridge/minibar and a basket of goodies all with a price list....... More

Had a weekend break in Glasgow and stayed in the truly wonderful hotel. The consierge in his resplendant Scottish attire welcomed us to the hotel and took us to our room and gave us a history lesson on the story of the buildings and rooms etc. Our room was lovely and warm, beautifully furnished (apart from the lighting which was... We booked months in advance for a Sunday night - and had a superior room that was cheaper than most B&Bs. Reception and bar staff really are exceptionally helpful. Our room was Clos Mogador which was quiet and very pleasant though needed a little TLC - as did some of the corridors. A couple of light bulbs weren't working in... More

Was surprised by my lovely friends and family and treated to a lunch in the private dining room "The whiskey room". From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. I have travelled the world and stayed in many five star hotels and eaten in Michelin star restaurants and the service here was equal to the best I have ever... More

Visited Hotel du Vin for a celebratory Champagne Lunch. Everything was perfect from our welcome to the opening glass of House Champagne to four splendid courses and on to the tea/coffee finish. Excellent unhurried service. Only minor point I could raise is that my wife left a little of the amuse bouche with the comment to the waitress that it... More

We gathered for a special occasion luncheon Menu was presented as a limited choice which was appropriate. Crème Brulee sweet was quite outstanding and as near perfection as is possible. Main course of Roast Beef was presented plated and beef, tender and flavoursome. I suspect that prior request for rare/medium etc., was not followed through as dishes seemed to be... More

I have been staying at this Hotel since it was simply known as 1 Devonshire. I completely love the atmosphere and the distinct differences between each room..... my favourite has to be the one with the bath in the middle of the bedroom...on a plinth! This time I was in one of the upper rooms on the far side with... More

So everyone from the cab driver to Glaswegian friends say that Rod Stewart and Robbie Williams like to stay here. If your bag is heavy, and you have many bags, this might not be the place for you. Granted, there will be strong men in kilts who will help carry your bags, but if you're like me, you'd first have... More
