Great location, great décor and design, good value for money with good breakfast, very clean with good amenities. High attention to detail with ever-present host. Be prepared to leave your shoes at the door!
Sorry Lorraine, but I don't think this was for us. At the outset, we found the "no-shoes" rule a bit of a faff and weren't fans of the breakfast. Granted, I didn't eat mine on the second morning (due to a self-inflicted hangover!), but I did on the first and we found it to be rather small. I don't drink coffee so asked for an extra fruit juice instead, an ask that seemed to irk Lorraine. I am not sure why, because I don't think that it is an unreasonable request when paying £150+ to say in a B&B. Anyway, she said yes, but it never arrived, so I am not sure if she forgot or just changed her mind! It all highlights the downside of having breakfast in the room, which means these things can't be resolved - similarly, we did not have enough ketchup for two of us so our bacon and eggs were without sauce. Again, these are small bugbears but they really shouldn't happen when paying such a premium price. In terms of service, breakfast was delivered to the room by (I guess) Lorraine's son who looked at us blankly and said nothing. It was all a bit surreal! On the plus side, everything else was superb so maybe it was just that our personalities didn't click. We are a young(ish!) gay couple and found Lorraine to be a bit like a school teacher, maybe she would have been more comfortable with an older couple. Finally, I also need to apologise for a mistake at our side - because we mixed up our dates and arrived 7 days early. Lorraine was frustrated, understandably so, but I tried to say sorry several times. Unfortunately these things happen, and it was frustrating for all of us. I hope that my mistake provided the opportunity for the room to be sold again the following weekend!…
We stayed for four nights. Perfect location for walking into the city centre and exploring Kelvingrove nd the west end. Easy links to both the subway and overground. The property is part of a classic Georgian terrace overlooking a shared garden. Inside it is immaculately clean and our host Lorraine was professional and discrete. The property gives you the privacy of a hotel, but with the comfort of home. Due to Covid, breakfast is room service, which needs to be booked the day before. Good quality produce and well presented. I would recommend this property and will be booking again for my next trip to Glasgow.
15 Glasgow totally deserves the excellent reviews it has been receiving. We stayed in July and stayed in a lovely large room overlooking the square. It was very well appointed and furnished. Lorraine is very welcoming and helpful and fastidious regarding hygiene and covid precautions. She was also very accommodating regarding our early departure on our last day. Breakfasts were excellent. The location of the hotel is central and great for walking around the city. No hesitation in recommmending and would definitely stay here again.
We loved everything about this stay! We booked last minute and managed to get the last remaining room, The Thistle Room. It was very well decorated, a huge space with a massive comfy bed, and 2 seperate en-suite rooms, one for the toilet and one for the shower. The room had original feature Georgian sash windows and wooden shutters. As well as this, the in room facilities were great; a range of teas & coffee, little chocolate snacks each day, hairdryer, mirrors etc. Lorraine was a lovely welcoming host, keen to give us all the info we’d need for the local area and a map. Breakfast was fabulous; we chose on check in from the menu. Everything was freshly prepared and brought to our room at the time we requested. Overall we couldn’t fault our stay, the only thing we’d hope for next time is for one of the fabulous suite rooms to be available so we can enjoy more of this amazing house! We’ll definitely be back 🙌🏻…
We enjoyed a three night stay in the Charles Rennie Mackintosh room at the front of this rather grand b&b. One of the biggest beds we have stayed in and almost certainly the biggest single room. Lots of nice CRM-themed features. The house overlooks a small park and is very quiet for such a central location. It's also very convenient for the Kelvingrove Museum. Lorraine is a very good host who has a warm welcome and serves an excellent breakfast. The breakfast is delivered to your room which works surprisingly well. Best of all, she is a great source of recommendations for excellent local restaurants. Ask her about the Italian round the corner.....superb!
Lovely B&B! Great period property with huge room and comfy bed. Good choice of well-cooked breakfasts, friendly host and great location in Glasgow’s Parks District. Free parking. Lovely few nights and would stay again. Would also recommend the nearby Drake pub for dinner or drinks
We stayed here for three nights in CRM room and our daughter was in Thistle room. Both are spacious and beautifully decorated, with good supplies. Our bathroom, also well supplied, had underfloor heating which was wonderful. The house is opposite private gardens, close to Kelvingrove Park, and within walking distance of Kelvingrove Museum, the Science Museum and Riverside Museum. We didn’t want to go shopping, so can’t discuss proximity to major shopping areas. There is private off road parking and overall it’s a lovely place to stay. Breakfast is served in your room, I’m not sure if that’s usual or just due to Covid and there’s a good choice on the menu. Supplies can also be found in the fridge in the sitting room. The owner is very helpful with local information and places to visit. We had a good stay here and would be happy to com back especially if something resembling normality ever returns!…
Despite the challenges presented by the Coronavirus, we had an excellent short stay, in lovely accommodation in a very convenient location. Lorraine couldn't have been more helpful and the porridge was top notch.
This was our first trip after lockdown and chosen because of the perfect location and previous excellent reviews. The house and room(CRM) were spotlessly clean and Lorrraine had made meticulous efforts to insure that there was minimal contact with her self and any other possible Covid contaminants. Hence we felt completely safe and relaxed during our stay and really appreciated all the lengths that Lorraine had gone to. Sadly there were no museums /galleries open yet but we enjoyed our walks through Glasgows beautiful parks and fascinating streets. Most of the top notch restaurants were open and we enjoyed some of the best food we had ever eaten and would recommend the neighborhood eatery Five March, just 2 minutes walk from 15 Glasgow. Thank you Lorraine
