What: 64 apartments sit within a beautiful Edwardian building that was formerly the headquarters of the Anchor Line Shipping Company (a transatlantic passenger service founded in 1855). Our design takes inspiration from this and the opulence of a 1920s ocean liner. Best bits: 24-hour reception, two on-site restaurants, and George Square on your doorstep. In the rooms, we’ve kept original features intact – with terrazzo flooring, timber wall panelling, stunning fireplaces, and original safes sitting pretty. Why stay: This is the perfect base to explore Glasgow from. Packed with history. Updated with stylish design. Getting here: Glasgow Central Station, Queen Street station, and Buchanan Street subway and bus station are all a 5-minute walk away. Glasgow airport is a short 20-minute taxi ride. If you’re driving then there’s plenty of space at the nearby NCP car park.

I stayed here for a couple of nights in a luxury studio whilst in town visiting family. Very comfortable, especially the beds and the apartment had brilliant fast WiFi. The little kitchen had everything I needed and the bathroom was big and spotless with an amazing shower.

It was a relief to see the steps in place for cleanliness especially during the current COVID situation. When I arrived I was asked to sanitise my hands on entry and was given a little bottle of COVID killing hand gel to use when in the building. The receptionist gave me a bit of info about what they are doing to battle the virus in the hotel which was comforting. I came back one night at 2am and there was a member of staff cleaning the corridor and lift. We felt very very safe and secure.

We were also given a useful tip about using booking.com to search for availability and then book on Native’s one website as it tend to be cheaper - noted!

Will definitely stay here again when in Glasgow.

Stayed in Native Glasgow in a Premium Studio for a couple of nights and it provided so much more than any hotel. The room was spacious with an extremely comfortable bed, full kitchen including a large dishwasher, high breakfast table perfect to work from and the view was spectacular over looking Royal Exchange Square. The staff were brilliant too, knowledgable of the local area, extremely friendly and went that the extra mile. Cleanliness was outstanding throughout the aparthotel and sanitation stations available at every touch point which made me feel safe.

Special thanks to Grant, but overall a cracking team.

This was our third stay (second under COVID rules) at Native Glasgow and this time we were left ever so slightly disappointed. We spent five nights there in one of their one bedroom balcony apartments at the start of an extended holiday in Scotland. This time there was no welcome milk in the fridge and the containers for shower gel / shampoo were empty. Fortunately had our own and popped out to buy milk but it was the attention to detail. There was a cork in the corner of the living room which had obviously been missed when cleaning after the previous guests and there was only one placemat in the cupboard. We ordered a delivery from a local restaurant as didn’t want to eat in due to the current situation. Part of the meal included ice cream and when I went to put it in the freezer compartment until we were ready for it, it was so full of ice it was impossible - clearly not been defrosted in a long time. Finally whilst sitting enjoying the views over the Glasgow skyline one evening, the occupants of the neighbouring apartment decided to help themselves to the chairs on our balcony and wander back and forward past our rooms. This made me feel uneasy that they could enter our private space so easily. I know this sounds like a negative review but it really isn’t. Everything else was perfect. Previous stays have been 5/5 and I will have no hesitation in staying there again next time I’m back home. I just feel the attention to detail was not quite there this time. Hopefully just a blip!

Hello there Thank you for your review about your stay. I'm deeply disappointed that our Housekeeping team have missed all of the basics. We had a bit of an issue back then with the wee basics that you have mentioned but we have really worked hard on these and service has resumed as normal... I'm sorry also to hear about your neighbours stealing your patio furniture, i hope you managed to speak with our team and that they sorted it out? We hope to see you again when coming up to Glasgow. Give us a wee shout before you come and we'll look after you. Stay safe Gary White Regional General Manager, Scotland NATIVE

Had an event planned in Glasgow but with the whole COVID-19 issue, this was cancelled. We decided to go ahead with our trip anyway. Scott on reception greeted us and promptly upgraded us from our pre-booked studio apartment to a one-bed open plan apartment.

This was a fantasic space to spend a little more time over our 3 night stay as we had no real plans for the weekend. In room facilities were perfect with plenty of room for relaxing and watching tv or having meals (we used a fair bit of deliveroo/uber eats).

Great location, car park nearby which can be discounted by 50% with a pass from reception (I was £37.50 for 3 days).

Would happily stay here again... as long as we weren't put on the neighbouring side to Wetherspoons. This was the one downside to our stay, with the associated noise getting pretty annoying. This morning (Monday) we have no idea what was being done, but there was a pretty heavy amount of noise at 5:30am which went on for some time. As I said in the header, not specifically an issue with the hotel but something to be weary of.

Thanks again for the upgrade Scott, the whole stay was pretty much spot on.

Stayed here on 8th August for anniversary, unfortunately all the penthouse suites were fully booked.

Check in was really easy with the assistant telling us everything we needed to know and told us where the room was. 4th Floor.

The apartment was really great, they had everything you could need for a short stay, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, kitchenette and all the kitchen essentials you would need. The only thing I would say is they should include coffee sachets, there is some that you need in a cafetiere, if there was one I didn't see it.

The bedroom was a good size and bed was really comfy.

There is also a dishwasher and washing machine.

The location couldn't be better, right beside George Square.

Overall it was a great stay and I will definitely be back to stay in the penthouse suites.

Tip* Pre-book NCP car park on Ingram Street as it's only £8 per night and is above a 7 min walk from the hotel.

Hello there Thank you for the brilliant review. We're delighted that you enjoyed staying with us and appreciated the apartment. Parking with NCP can be pre-booked via our website. There are two options and both are close by. The discount price is amazing considering it's usually £22-24 for 24 hours. We hope to see you again when next staying over in Glasgow. Gary

The value can't be beat. The price was inexpensive compared to other options. And Native is close to the train station.

A few things caught my attention as a business traveler who primarily goes from Washington, DC to LA, San Francisco, Seattle, NY, and Toronto. None of the hotels I stayed at in the UK, including Native Glasgow, have wash cloths in the shower. I just used my hands, but it took much longer. I never felt like my skin had been cleansed. Additionally, it was so cold outside that the heat exchanger for the air conditioning unit in the room never worked properly. I mentioned this to the management upon checkout, and they noted that it was a known problem and they had contacted the manufacturer for guidance and a fix.

On the good side again, I thought the provisioning of the Native beat all others. I especially enjoyed the laundry facilities in the unit. I did a load of colors and a load of whites on separate days using the Hotpoint washer/dryer combo unit. There was a kitchenette with a working half size refrigerator, a dish washer, dishes to use and wash, and a sink. The WiFi was more than adequate.

I felt safe in the hotel. A series of security doors must be got through in order to get to the room I stayed in, and the chance that a stranger would have been able to get all the way in is very remote. The elevator had security, the elevator lobby on the room floor was secure, the door leading to the room hallway was secure, and the room itself was secure. So, 4 locks must be got through to get to the room I stayed in. Also, I ordered a food delivery one night, and the desk staff brought it up to my room when it arrived. Very nice. Room service across most hotel chains seems to have taken it's death-notice from the pandemic, and this added service seems to be a nice compromise.

I highly recommend this hotel for all of the reasons above.

Our recent stay at Native Glasgow for a special occasion was fantastic. The location is perfect for accessing what Glasgow City Centre has to offer (a lot!) and the views from the room were stunning. The room itself was clean, brilliantly laid out, easy to make great use of, beautifully presented and everyone (on the Native team) we met was helpful and very friendly. If there were any "notes" (tiny suggestions for marginal improvement) it would be making sure there was some salt & pepper available (we did make use of the kitchen facilities) and that there were just a couple more teabags......apart from that, really excellent.😁👏👏👏 10/10

Booked a penthouse apartment with beautiful views across George Square. Any concerns about COVID-19 were allayed as soon as you walk in. Sanitising station just inside the entrance and at reception. The room had a seal on the door to state it was cleaned and no one else had entered .

Highly recommend staying here whether it's for one night or a week!

We stayed for one night in a penthouse room and had a lovely stay. We had a couple of housekeeping niggles but these were sorted out really quickly by reception and we returned to a lovely little note and some sweet treats left in the room for us. The weather was so good and we enjoyed time on the balcony before heading down to the Anchor line below for some amazing cocktails. The soundproofing in the room was excellent and despite Glasgow still bustling below we heard nothing in the apartment. The bed was super comfy and we had a great nights sleep. We would definitely stay again and look forward to returning.

Had a great stay at the Native Glasgow. It is in a fantastic location, close to train stations, amenities, restaurants, shopping etc.
Staff we encountered on our stay were all wonderful and helpful. The rooms and kitchen were well stocked with crockery, cutlery etc. It was great having access to a washing machine and dryer on our floor, and a drying rack in our room. Room was very quiet, we barely heard any noise from other guests when we were in our room.
We had a great stay, and would definitely stay here again if were come back to Glasgow.
