At the ibis Styles Glasgow Central, guests often praise its prime location near Glasgow's heart and its music-themed atmosphere that provides a distinctive charm, despite some signs of wear. The rooms are lauded for their cleanliness and generous size, yet some travelers report noise disturbances and a need for updated furniture and decor.
While many guests find the hotel to be a good value with commendable amenities and cleanliness, others have felt the prices steep considering their experiences. The staff's friendliness is frequently acknowledged, though service can be hit or miss.

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed there on two different visits. Liked very much! Centrally located, to the train station and the bus-stop to/from Glasgow Airport. Very nice breakfast in the morning and a nice and small bar with a delicious pizza in the evening meal. Retro music ambiance includes Vinyls, CDs and radios. Nice Pool table to play with a glass of drink. Rooms are spacious and well lit. Umbrella can be borrowed from the reception during the rainy day. I like goodies/sweets at the reception! Nice staff with service oriented including the Manager himself.

It’s what I’d call a high-end budget hotel. Modern standard rooms with everything you need for a short stay. You get coffee and tea making facilities, a decent hair drier, clothes iron and ironing board and a large TV with terrestrial channels hanging on the wall. Not a lot of storage space and only about four clothes hangers in the cupboard but enough for a short stay.
You can easily replenish coffee and tea and milk from the lounge area, which has tables and settees, a hot drinks machine (free to use) and a billiard table. There’s a bar, a coffee bar and you can order food too. The menu is limited but there are plenty of restaurants a stone’s throw from the hotel. Likewise, Glasgow Central station is also about a five minute walk from the hotel.
The staff are absolutely lovely and extremely helpful. Plus there are nice little touches such as Tunnock’s tea cakes and a couple of cans of Irn Bru in your room when you arrive. On Fridays they leave a box of Crunchie bars in the lounge area, which are free to take. Naughty but nice.
The beds are comfortable, the blackout curtains work well and I couldn’t hear any noise from anywhere at night. The rooms are air conditioned. You can’t open the windows as it has a modern ducted (and I assume filtered) air system. So even if the air conditioning is off you always hear a gentle whooshing from the ducted air system but you really don’t notice it. These are really common now and mean that when you turn the lights on in the toilet and shower room you don’t have the grinding noise of a fan, for which I am extremely grateful. The shower is really excellent!
This is not the sort of hotel where you would want to spend a lot of time in your room. Not sure it would be entirely suitable for someone doing serious work on their laptop. You get a small table with a comfortable relaxing chair plus footstool and that’s it. So if you are a couple only one person gets to sit on the chair. There were people working downstairs in the lounge at the tables (though as there’s always music in playing that might be difficult for some). There are no fixed phones in your room. You can use WhatsApp to contact the staff. WiFi is good here.
So it’s the sort of hotel which you would use as a base from which to explore the delights of Glasgow (and it is a delightful city), rather than a luxury experience or someone working away from home where you need a decent office plus meeting rooms. And it does this really well.
As ever, it’s the staff who make it and I have to say they were really friendly and helpful.
We were met by Elli who realised that we weren’t a part of the large party of Dutch visitors who had arrived at the same time as we did. She very quickly checked us in and made sure that we weren’t kept waiting. Very impressive.

Great basic hotel in a very central location, within easy walking distance of everything we needed - sightseeing, restaurants & shops! The staff are so nice and welcoming, the room was spotless and really comfy and very quiet. The decor is modern and funky and we loved the fun welcome message on the TV. The shower was excellent, possibly the best shower I've had in a hotel room so far, with good big towels! We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food, we had a few drinks at the bar and again found the staff to be very nice & helpful. Check in and check out were quick & easy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Glasgow.

The hotel is in a good location, on a fairly quiet road (pub and bar wise) but an easy walk to the centre and the train station.
The staff were very friendly, check-in quick and easy. The bar area was nice. We didn’t have breakfast as we were visiting family.
Sadly the room was in a noisy spot, at one point I thought the windows were single glazed as the traffic noise (from an A road or the M8?) was very loud. I’m usually a good sleeper but the beds were so uncomfortable and lumpy / rubbish pillows didn’t help.
The shower / bathroom was very clean and modern, unfortunately the shampoo/soap dispenser had been installed in a way that you couldn’t alter the shower temperature…(room 307). I’d say the carpet in the room needed a good hoover / clean.
Room was plenty big enough for a city break and had iron/hairdryer/kettle

Hello k8ej1! That you for leaving a review for us. It is great that you found the location convenient! I am delighted that you found out staff friendly and that the check in process was easy for you. I am disappointed to hear that you felt that there was a lot of noise and that the bed was not to your liking. I am glad that you found the bathroom clean and modern. I will have a look into the placement of the soap dispenser and the carpet as these are unusual remarks for us. Kind regards, Reception Team

Good location, short walk 5-10 minutes, to Central train station, many restaurants in the area. Just past the train station, George Square, Art museum and the infamous Duke of Wellington statue and the ever present traffic cone on his head.
Our room was quiet as the building is located in an area of office buildings. Inside no slamming doors etc at night. Our room was very small, opening 3 suitcases fully on the floor used up valuable space, had to walk over them. Room was clean.
Breakfast was an extra 11 pounds each, buffet style all you can eat.

Hello TrueNorth67, Thank you very much for taking your time to write a review. We are very happy to hear that you found the hotel location convenient and you also managed to have a quiet night in our hotel. It is fantastic that you were happy with the cleanliness of the room and you also found the breakfast a good value for money. We apologise if your room was rather on the smaller side, next time just give us a shout and we will try to give you a room with a different layout if we can. This hotel was Excellent the staff were friendly especially the young lad in the bar I can’t remember his name but it may have been Callum he was so welcoming and polite.
We had a quick bite to eat before hitting the town we just had burger and chips which was excellent, very generous portions and reasonably priced too. The bar has a free pool table which was a bonus. Breakfast was a buffet with lots of choice of hot and cold food which was great.
The room was perfect! very funky and well designed everything had been thought about for example I’ve stayed in rooms before where there’s no plug socket near a mirror, This one has a huge mirror with a plug socket in the right place.. The shower was extremely powerful the bed was sooooo comfy which I made full use of for an extra snooze after breakfast and we also had a late check out till 1pm for no extra cost.
Excellent thanks

I found checking in was easy, the restaurant/bar also does check ins and the 5 or so days I was there, they were always very fun and friendly.
The room was kind of basic, had lots of windows so that was nice, a big bed and a chair, with no table. There was a night table on the other side of the bed. The room was kind of elongated with a hall wall, and at the end near the door you had cupboard space for things, though not near the bed at all. Just a strange design, but could have been the rooms at the end of the halls facing Waterloo St that were like this.
There was outlets on either side of the bed as well for charging which was nice, in the wall itself and the bathroom also had a universal adapter for various voltages.
Bathroom wasn't big, but was fine and not cramped at all. Shower had good water pressure, though the door didn't always fit properly, and water sometimes tended to get out onto the floor.
You also need to use your keycard to power up the room.
One of the bonuses of this hotel is that if you keep your "Do Not Disturb" sign out over night and when the housekeeping comes by, you get a free drink coupon under your door. I ended up with 4 free pints of beer during my stay as I never used housekeeping at all as I had no need to bymyself. Save the environment, get beer, well you can also get other beverages as well.
The bar/restaurant was big and really kind of fun. Lots of different style chairs, tables and couches to sit in. You had individual chairs, ones for a few friends, ones you can sit at and meet new people and so on. There was also a game area in the back that had I think a coffee or drink machine for free and pool and other games as well that were all included.
Location is pretty good, a couple of blocks from Glasgow Central Station and not far from the nightlife along Sauchiehall St. There are a few buses, but best was the #500 Airport Express stop is just across the street pretty much.
I liked this place and was happy to get it after my other hotel ended up cancelling on me. I'd stay here again and really enjoyed the staff working there, they really made it fun.

The hotel is nice, really well decorated, hipster style and comfortable. We paid the higher rate to include breakfast. The breakfast was terrible! The continental style was ok, but the hot breakfast was really limited. Tinned baked beans and lots of different meats. I asked if I could have some tomatoes or mushrooms, but they just said no sorry we don’t do them. There were fresh tomatoes on the continental breakfast so it wouldn’t have been hard to grill some. I was offered some veggie sausages cooked to order they took ages and my partners had finished his food well before i got mine. The bread was cheap sliced loaf , I asked if they had brown but was offered a 50/50 type of bread.
I went to get scrambled eggs and someone had used a meaty spoon so I scooped that bit out into another dish before getting some, and then I watched a member of staff put the meaty eggs back in the main egg dish afterwards . It was all really Just really unhygienic and sparse

My reservation was for the George Square location, I was moved here due to some problem at the 1st. These folks had a send-out laundry service, which I used once. Theirs was cheaper than the Edinburgh service, as it was a price set for one bag full of clothes that could be washed together in one load. I got a lot in it! And washed underwear and socks in the room. The hotel was nice, clean, and staffed with helpful people. Breakfast was pretty much as lackluster as others, and there was no porridge. i had cereal and scrambled eggs each day. There was also a street-facing restaurant and bar which was busy most nights. The room was high up, with a view down into the street below, or across into the windows of an office building. On weekdays I could see people arriving for work, getting coffee, putting their lunches away. Comfortable room, plenty of outlets and charging ports, nice shower.

Interesting music themed hotel. Large bar, café and dining area on the ground floor. Check in was easy and welcoming. Room was a little tight, but usual Ibis size. Bathroom could have used some maintenance as the shower hose was damaged so if you moved it around the water would stop. The conditioning/heating made a lot of gurgling noises and stopped working overnight on our first night. This was sorted the next day after informing the reception staff. Breakfast was excellent, great buffet selection and although busy we could always find a seat. We had a couple of meals and drinks from the bar which were also excellent and the whole bar/dining area had a great atmosphere. The location is interesting in a very office block business part of Glasgow. We chose this location as we were leaving by train and Central station was only a few blocks along the street less than 10 minute walk. Very comfortable hotel and friendly staff.
