First time staying last week, and I was a little worried that there might be excessive train noise due to the proximity to Central station, but I should not have worried. My room on 7th floor was very clean and comfortable and I slept very well. Staff at check in were also welcoming and chatty. Would recommend and stay here again when on business in the area.
On the plus side - the hotel is spotless, the staff are very friendly, informative and obliging. The location is great. The lobby bar is pleasant and the overall decoration is lovely On the downside - check in was very busy and, although it is rated at £84, which was our charge, everyone else that checked in at the same time were being charged £69. There is no "in room" phone, so if you need to contact reception you have to use your mobile. Hospitality supplies in the room were basic and the dispensers in the bathroom were nearly empty. What really let it down was the abysmal breakfast - £19 for 2 people for a badly stocked and laid out, limited choice continental - nearly everything was down to the last couple of pieces and not being topped up regularly with ourselves and other guests hunting for stuff (and this was mid breakfast service, not end). The juice glasses are tiny - not much bigger than a shot glass. I have stayed in better hotels in Glasgow for less.…
So cold. Wish I had packed for a long winter I know the fuel crisis is bad but this is igloo level. The staff are lovely but i go to reception to be shown a picture of how to set the thermos. I may not be the brightest little bunny but I will NEVER stay with this chain again. Also they keep turning the tv on. 1984? I am just typing stuff now because this wonderful app has set a word limit Yours Victor Meldrew lives.
We've previously stayed at MotelOne in Edinburgh and always loved it so we tried MotelOne in Glasgow. Great location, central. Superb quality rooms and a great lobby and bar. For the room charge there is no better value that we've found! Best of all were the staff however, from the maintenance man who helped us out with a tricky sunglasses problem to the delightful reception team and the bar staff who knew their stuff and demonstrated good humour ! THANK YOU can't wait to come back
Very friendly lovely hotel staff very pleasant room was lovely near to everything breakfast lovely the cleaners very polite train station near by and close to the main airport plenty of buses to get around
We have stayed at MotelOne in Newcastle and Manchester, so when we planned a night in Glasgow we just had to try MotelOne here! We were NOT disappointed!! We had a great room with a fantastic view on the top floor. The room was clean and well looked after with plenty of storage space and a super comfy bed. Darren who checked us in was fab!! So friendly and attentive. We plan to return to MotelOne everytime we stay in Glasgow!!
great stay for those on a budget, the turquoise colour throughout was lovely, room a decent size, no iron or board, asked at reception and were given them to take up to our room, not had to do that before. No glasses or cups in the room, I don't like using cardboard cups but while waiting fr some water at the bar heard someone ask for a couple of cups so did the same. T.V had a brilliant picture but not many channels. Bedside area not much room, I like to put a glass of water and small clock and torch by side of bed. The room had a safe which was a bonus. Most of the staff were very pleasant, one bar server never seemd very happy! Very good price for city centre hotel.
Hotel room was spotless and we had a great view. Staff could not be more helpful and were incredibly friendly! It was a great stay we cant wait to come back. Had a great time in the hotel bar and the bartender was lovely. Bed and pillows are incredibly comfy we found it difficult to get out of it!
Loved our stay here! The hotel looks brand new and is extremely modern. Check in was a breeze and they even offer 12pm check out. It was amazing! The beds are really comfy and the rooms are spacious. The bathroom was clean and the shower was also spacious. 10/10 would recommend staying here!
Motel One in Glasgow is such a surprising gem because for such small prices you are guaranteed a clean, well-presented room with all the amenities you need. The hotel features a gorgeous lounge with an array of seating areas and Scandinavian style design. The beds are memory foam and sooooo comfortable! The shower was very warm and very clean, and we never had any problems with our room. It even included a modern style hairdryer and lots of charging points, including European charging points. The only thing that let down this amazing hotel was the breakfast. We felt it was slightly steep at £9 for a very limited selection of food- a small variety of cheeses and hams, various cereals and a basket of pastries. The drink glasses were very small, just a bit bigger than a shot glass. We weren’t surprised by breakfast though, as we were informed that it would be a small continental buffet. The staff were incredibly helpful and always on hand to help throughout our stay. I particularly want to thank the staff member Emma, who I witnessed handle a particularly challenging customer with an incredible amount of grace, customer care and delicacy. Emma listened to the customer, made sure to alleviate the issue and never once lost her sense of professionalism. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!…
