Radisson RED Glasgow garners accolades for its spotless environment, with many guests commending the impeccable cleanliness of both the rooms and common spaces. The rooms are celebrated for their spaciousness and comfort, with the occasional mention of maintenance needs. Its location earns high marks for being close to the Hydro and other Glasgow attractions. While opinions on value vary, the hotel's amenities, including the Sky Bar and dining options, are a hit. Service is generally praised, though not without some reports of delays. The vibrant atmosphere is a draw, though it comes with a caveat of occasional loud music.

I stayed one night here recently in order to go to a concert in the hydro. Good choice! The hydro is about a three minute walk from the front door of the hotel.
The check in was cheery and friendly and gave a good impression of the hotel standard. The hotel lifts to the bedroom floors are protected by room card access on the card reader inside the lift. The hotel corridors and bedroom were spotlessly clean. The bedroom was a good comfortable size and had a quirky decoration based on the history of the old Glasgow shipbuilding industry. The style is similar to IBIS styles brand. The bathroom was well appointed and had a good amount of body wash and shampoo of quite a good standard. Our room had a great view towards the hydro and also the old shipbuilding crane at the side of the river.
The breakfast in the morning was buffet style and was a very good quality with something to suit most people. Check out was quick and efficient.
The parking situation was tricky when we first arrived. The car park was full as it is not very big. I asked inside and was guided towards the multi storey parking round the corner which is marked for the SECC and Hydro. It is next door to the Marriot Courtyard hotel and is a 5 minute, or less, walk to the Radisson Red hotel door. When you check out, present your ticket to the hotel front desk and they will code the card which means you pay £12 for the night instead of the full rate of £24!
The hotel is famous for its Red Sky bar on the top floor. There is one lift access from the ground floor to the bar and, prior to 9.00pm, is open for everyone. It is recommended to reserve a seat if you go early. After 9.00pm the bar is only open for residents and is a first come, first seated, basis.
I would say (I may be wrong) that access to the city from the hotel is a far walk and probably requires public transport, but for access to the Hydro and SECC it is absolutely first class.
We enjoyed it so much we can’t wait to stay there again.

My husband and I had a fantastic stay here when we booked the hotel for the night when seeing The Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer gig at the Hydro on 12/6/2024 Such a great location next to the venue and the hotel did not did disappoint! Our room was amazing with a front and side view overlooking the Clyde and Hydro. The reception staff - Julie and Shaun were so friendly and welcoming which made our first time staying at the hotel a fantastic experience! We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and a few cocktails in the Sky Bar (fab views) and again the staff were so attentive. We have recommended this hotel
to our family and friends and look forward to returning back to stay again! Thank you x

Booked an overnight in a river view room to celebrate my partners birthday and loved the vibe throughout the hotel. The room was spacious, fantastically decorated and the view out of the window on the 7th floor was phenomenal. The bed was huge and very comfortable and the rainfall shower in the quirky bathroom was the best hotel shower I have ever used. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was due to a little bit of damage to bathroom door frame (looked like water damage) and a little mouldy silicone at the shower tray..
We also spent a good part of our evening in the Red Sky bar which we loved. Great Live music, friendly staff, a vibrant vibe and more of the smashing view of the Clyde, the hydro and beyond - made for a fantastic evening.
Breakfast was okay, but after selecting food from the buffet, wished we had seen the menu for alternate breakfasts, as the eggs benedict that went out to another table looked fabulous (definitely what I will order next time). Slight negative at breakfast was that only one coffee machine was working, meaning a long queue for that much needed morning after caffeine fix.
Reception staff were also amazing - friendly, efficient and professional. I had ordered a birthday package consisting of cocktails and beer in the room on arrival. Unfortunately they had run out of beer. As soon as I highlighted this to reception, the package fee was refunded, and vouchers for 2 free pints at the sky bar were given to us. They also refunded our overnight parking to compensate our disappointment. Honestly couldn't have asked for any more. Thank you Radisson Red we will definitely be visiting again

We chose the Radisson Red as we were attending a multi-day event at the SEC. In retrospect, we should have stayed elsewhere. We actually tried to switch hotels midstay but could not find an available room on short notice. To be fair, my expectations were low. I dislike the RED vibe. All the red and graffiti-like artwork feels very angry and unpleasant. I prefer a classy hotel with tasteful decor & real furniture rather than wobbly ottomans in the lobby.

Overall, it felt like a half step up from a Youth Hostel. Would be an okay place if you just wanted a clean/safe place to spend the night after a concert, albeit overpriced for what you get.

Hard bed, inadequate pillows. Plastic carpet, cheap furnishings. I got the sense that they specifically chose room furnishings and finishings so the rooms could be hosed down in case of drunken guests who partied a little too hard and vomited everywhere.

The shower floor has been installed so that it slopes towards the bathroom floor. Turn the shower on to anything more than a trickle and you get a flood. Standing water on the bathroom floor. Every day we had to use towels to mop up the floor for our own safety.

The air in the rooms was VERY stuffy, we found it difficult to sleep. Windows don’t open, the inability to get fresh air in the room was a problem. Carbon dioxide levels in the room got to unhealthy levels overnight, causing us to wake up with headaches.

Breakfast was disappointing - items in the hot buffet were greasy and lukewarm. After one attempt to eat the hotel breakfast, we decided to go elsewhere for breakfast for the rest of our trip. Unfortunately, there were no conveniently nearby options, so a taxi ride to/from breakfast was needed. We ate dinner in OuiBar one night. It was okay, pizza was a little undercooked but not bad for the price.

SkyBar was okay. Fun to pop up and see the view but it’s not THAT amazing. A minute or too to take in the view if more than enough. The music in the SkyBar was relentlessly loud & headache inducing, even if you’re not in the SkyBar. Lack of table service in SkyBar is unacceptable, especially given the price of drinks.

Inadequate storage space in the room. Only a few hangers. Shelves were horribly dusty, I don’t think they’d ever been cleaned.

I also thought it was inappropriate & tacky, the number of times hotel staff asked us to leave a positive review on Trip Advisor.

We’ve just stayed here for 2 nights in river view rooms 703 and 704. I wish we didn’t have to leave! Check in was swift and friendly. Rooms are huge with the biggest, comfiest beds I’ve seen in a long time. The hotel is extremely quiet and you hear no traffic noise from these rooms. Air con and Wi-Fi both super efficient.
It’s an easy river walk or train ride (Exhibition station) into the city centre. We would definitely stay here again.

A quirky, trendy hotel that on the whole works well! Located on the river and overlooking the Finnieston Crane, Ovo and SEC and a 25 minute walk or 10 minute taxi ride from the station. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and my room was spacious and clean, apart from a rather less than spotless toilet! Views from the room were great although the location of the Nespresso coffee machine (see picture) was odd to say the least. It was located in a cupboard with no plug socket nearby. The whole machine had to be taken out of the cupboard and placed by a plug socket. Surely it would be better to place it by a socket to start with.
Breakast was very good. There was a wide selection including fruit, porridge and a Scottish Bteakfast including haggis, although the haggis was a little stodgy! The less said about my evening pizza the better! Horrible!
Overall, a very good stay at a reasonable price.

We visited Radisson RED to stay overnight for a gig at the SECC. Parking on arrival was easy access and we found a space no problem. I felt confident leaving my car as there are security cameras and barriers in operation. Only thing I'd say is better signs at the back of the hotel to direct you to the front door as we ended up walking in a bit of a circle! :'D On entering the hotel there was a party going on in the restaurant but after collecting our key cards the very helpful receptionist assured us it would be finished by 5pm. We've never stayed at the Radisson RED before, usually choosing the Premier Inn over the river, however the price was very competitive for 1 nights stay so we opted for the RED, and are glad we did! The rooms are lovely, impeccably clean, modern, and with all the mod cons (a fridge even! Definitely don't get that at the Premier Inn!). There was tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer, iron and ironing board (not that we used it) and you can order pizza to your room between certain times as well, which we didn't take advantage of on this occasion but rest assured when we're back we will :)
The room was a little noisy because of the party going on downstairs (we usually like to take a nap before we go out to a gig, cos yeah, millennials lol) but we did manage a nap as we were pretty exhausted! We went out at about quarter past five and it had quietened down by then. Afterwards we came back and were pleasantly surprised the bar was still open with entertainment - Jason taking requests for songs, and we were pleased to be able to get a drink and unwind. The bonus of this was we met another couple who had been to the gig and got chatting, good company found by the bar still being open! :) When last orders were called at 11.30 we headed upstairs to the Sky Bar to continue our social evening, which was really nice. The Sky Bar was comfy with booths free to use and we were served fast although the Heineken was just out (but we were there at like 1 in the morning so fair do's lol). After a drink in the Sky Bar we said cheerio to our new friends and went back to our room. The room was now nice and quiet and we managed a lovely nights sleep til about 8am when people started getting up and about for breakfast. You can definitely hear people moving around the hotel which is probably the only down side I'd say.
In short, a comfy hotel, good price, clean, and relatively quiet with great facilities. We'd definitely stay again! :)

Nice hotel with on-site parking (big plus), but a few dodgy elements. Firstly, check whether they’re having one of their Sky Bar events…they hold them fortnightly…relentless bass thumping out until 02:00 - we complained, and the receptionist told us lots of others did too.

Room 611 is nice, with a decent view over the river, but make sure you don’t get given it! The shower tray has been installed so that it slopes not towards the drain, but towards the bathroom floor. Turn the shower on to anything more than a trickle and you get a flood. Putting towels down as a barricade helps, but that hardly helps to save the planet!

Overall I thought the Radisson Red was OK, but my wife hated it - too much relentless red everywhere.

All I ask of a hotel is a comfy bed (10 out of 10), cleanliness (10 out of 10), and a decent shower (3 out of 10). I’d happily stay there again, but wild horses wouldn’t get my wife back. P.S. the hairdryer just blew up which didn’t improve her mood,

Have been to events at the Radisson Red on many occasions and had the best day / nights out in a very long time. But this is the first time I’ve stayed at the hotel. Couldn’t have been happier with the room! The view was incredible, such a comfy huge bed! Service was fantastic, we got adjoining rooms as we were a small group of friends and the staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They provided lovely little touches for my friends birthday that were so thoughtful and made our stay even more special. It was so comfortable that we actually missed breakfast but ended up getting small plates from the sky bar as we didn’t want to leave the view! Food was lovely in the skybar as it was also in the restaurant downstairs where the pizzas are out of this world and great value. Overall I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone as the location itself is also perfect and great value as an all round package when visiting Glasgow.
