Point A Hotel Glasgow is lauded for its prime central location, making it a hit among guests looking to explore the city's offerings. While the rooms are often described as modern with a unique mood lighting touch, some visitors express concerns about their compact size and limited amenities. The service receives mixed reviews, with commendations for friendliness alongside critiques of inconsistent housekeeping.
Cleanliness stands out as a strong point, especially with the comfortable beds. However, noise levels are a common gripe, potentially disrupting sleep for many travelers. Despite these issues, the hotel is popular for providing good value for money.

Hotel near to the bus station which is why we like going here.
Greeted by friendly staff, self check-in service which was easy to use. Room was very quaint, but all you need. very clean and comfortable beds.
Breakfast was very good and a nice small restaurant, with a nice atmosphere.
This was our second visit here, will definitely be back.

Hotel has central location for transport, shops and restaurants, easy access to rooms that are clean a comfortable with little quirky areas i.e. the tv remote holder which indicates where to put as ' they tend to play hide and seek'...spotless toilet/shower room with easy to use shower control... plenty of choice at Continental breakfast, so all in all a very comfortable stay and hope to return...

Hi macmyra, Thanks for your 5* review. We love to hear from our guests and are delighted you had a pleasant stay with us. We do have an excellent location, don't we! You can easily reach many of Glasgow's major attractions on foot in addition to excellent public transport links close by if you choose to adventure outside of the city. I love the quirky designs and space-saving ideas throughout our hotel too. It's great you got the chance to try our "brekkie", we believe it's the best way to start the day! Have a lovely day Adele

Booked 5 rooms last weekend for a long weekend , visiting family and getting out and about . Booked the cheapest rooms (no window ) price came in at £50 per room for 2 nights stay great value for a city centre
Rooms were small but perfectly functional , modern , spotlessly clean. Great location for all pubs and restaurants , Railway and Bus station. minor thing was no wardrobe in room , just hangers on wall and a few little shelves by the bed , I imagine the more expensive rooms may well have ? Not a problem for us
100% recommend for a short stay

Stayed at Point A last weekend for two nights, in the double room with window.
On arrival the two staff on duty were friendly.
We really liked the bed, (it was comfy and so were the pillows)
The lighting is really fun to mess around with, the amount of times I switched this during stay. Especially rainbow rave mode!
The location is great, it's close to many shops, bars, food places etc
Being able to go on Youtube when Saturday night TV wasn't the best was also a plus point.
Really liked the shower, better than other hotels we've stayed at!
Good price
Staff really helpful
The only things that weren't too good but nothing major was the street noise, but the bonus is that it is in such a good location this is expected. I did ask if there was any other quiet rooms that could avoid this noise but unfortunately there is shops and roads surrounded.
The room was quite cold, no matter how high we turned the heating system on and even trying it with different settings. On the second night we contacted reception who managed to sort us out with a mini heater, the guy who brought this up was really helpful and we were glad they had something like this to solve that issue! Although it was a negative the hotel went out there way to sort that so we can't fault this.
Only one socket by the beside, we're so used to having two at each side (for charging phones) There is also one side with the socket and tables whereas the other side without the socket had nothing so if you like to sit your drinks or even phone beside your bed it didn't have this - We hope from this review that it's maybe something that could be added to the rooms, even a little table or something so both sides have :)
We would stay again, as any issue was small or easily fixed.

Hi OkCake, Thanks for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review, we love to hear from our guests and are delighted you had a fab stay with us here at Point A Glasgow. Your kind words about our staff and hotel were an absolute pleasure to read. We do have a great team and very much enjoy working at our hotel. Ah, we do apologize for the inconvenience with your heating, we are glad our team managed to find you a quick solution to the problem. However, we can assure you this won't happen again in the future! Sometimes the noise from the street can be a little unavoidable, although if you give us a call or pop us over an email prior to your arrival we can allocate you one of our internal rooms which faces our atrium as opposed to the busy streets of Glasgow. I will definitely pass your feedback to our maintenance manager Gavin and let's see what he thinks of the idea? We can't wait to welcome you on your next visit post lockdown pt.2! Thanks again Adele

This was my first time Staying at Point A. I was greeted very warmly by a lovely girl Named Jennifer (she was covering from the Edinburgh Point A Hotel) She checked my in really Quickly and asked my how my day was which is a nice touch. Explained where my room was told me that the hotel front desk was manned 24/7 should i need anything else. The room itself was lovely, very clean- very modern with the use of wall pockets for items like your phone or wallet ect. The room had a light colour wheel which allowed you to pick what colour you wanted for your chosen mood which i thought was a great idea- keeps it fun and you can choose what ever colour suits you. Lovely TV and no Fuss Wi-FI. Bathroom was small, but this is a budget hotel but it was spotless and the shower was lovely and hot with good pressure.

Hi hotelfinder007, Thanks for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review. We love to hear from our guests and are delighted you had a pleasant experience whilst staying at our hotel. Our lovely colleagues from Edinburgh came to cover for our (late) Christmas night out! I'm glad to hear they kept our standards high! I'll be sure to pass your kind words onto Jennifer and the rest of the team. Our hotel is super-clean, housekeeping here at Point A is amazing, we cannot thank the girls enough for their continuous hard work in keeping our hotel in tip-top shape. I love the quirky little designs and space-saving ideas too. I love the mood-lighting, especially the purple - it makes me feel so relaxed. Did you have a chance to try out our disco-mode? It's very cool. Have you signed up on our official website for our A-list program? It's free to join & members receive 10% of their booking and also discounts on food and drink with our local partners. Thanks again for such a lovely review, we look forward to welcoming you again. Have a great day. Adele

Very nice hotel and very clean. Stayed here for two nights, staff are very welcoming and friendly. The cleaners missed our room when they were cleaning which wasn’t a problem. The only thing we had a problem was sleep. It was so loud in this hotel that we had a max 5 sleep the whole Friday-Sunday.
When the doors slam they’re so long it sounds like someone is entering your room. You can hear taps run below you, showers being used and talking. Everything else was fine with our stay but we did lose a lot of sleep.

We booked a last minute trip to Glasgow and booked here as it was a central location and good price.
When we got to the hotel we were allowed to check in 3 hours early (£25 surcharge) and the staff were very helpful. It was very close (5 minute walk) to Buchanan Bus Station, Central Station and Queen Street Station.
The room was rather sparse, no chairs to sit on, no hand towel for the bathroom or shower gel and shampoo or tram/coffee making facilities but the room had air con and was a good size (we asked for a room with a window and were given a good sized room). Also the mattress was a bit soft for me, but that’s personal preference.
The staff were knowledgeable about the city and helpful at all times.
All in all the hotel was perfect for a short break away and I would recommend.

Hi Uk_james82, Thanks for taking the time to review our hotel. We love to hear from our guests and are continuously looking for ways in which we can improve our guest satisfaction. It's great we managed to check you in early to kickstart your time in Glasgow. We do have a very central location, right in the middle of such a lively, vibrant city with so much to see and do! Our guests love it! Our rooms can be a little compact, yes - we believe we do an excellent job with our space-saving ideas throughout our hotel. We do in fact have a fold-down chair in our room, it's located on the wall. Unfortunately, we don't have hand towels in our rooms, although for next time we could have given you an extra bath towel for hand use if you need it. In terms of toiletries, we do have shampoo/shower gel, but don't include the extras such as conditioner within our rooms. Thanks for your comments on our staff, we are super-friendly and always love to chat with our guests. Looking forward to your next visit. Adele

I stayed here for 3 nights for a short business trip. The hotel was excellent value for money (cheaper than my usual choice of the ‘purple moon’ leading budget hotel chain) and the included breakfast was an added bonus.
We were greeted warmly on arrival and the room was clean and smart and well-insulated (I didn’t hear my neighbours at all). I chose a windowless room which was great (no street noise / light pollution) and I didn’t miss the window, although we only returned to the hotel to sleep. The mood lighting was fun but a bit of a gimmick - I couldn’t really see me sitting with blue / green / red lights on. Although no wardrobe or drawers, there were enough hanging spaces for 3 days’ worth of clothes and I just kept smaller items in my suitcase pushed under the bed.
There are plenty of plug sockets (although annoyingly those closest to the bed didn’t have USB ports for direct phone charging even though others in the room did). The TV was a decent size. I did miss having a kettle in the room although free tea and coffee is available from reception. The provided hairdryer was powerful and it was great to have a safe in the room; this was just about big enough to accommodate my 13” MacBook. The free WiFi was fast and easy to connect to with good signal in the bedroom and public areas.
The bathroom was clean and the shower had good pressure although the cubicle was a little small (fine once you’re in but a bit tricky to shut the door without having to pin yourself against the tiles to do so).
Breakfast (which was included free of charge for us booking direct) was continental but plentiful with lots of choice: savoury and sweet pastries, yogurt, cereals, fruit, eggs, cheese, bread etc with juices and hot drinks.
The location was very good. It was a 5-10 minute easy walk up the hill from Glasgow Central station (and the airport bus stop 2 on Bothwell Street) and a similar distance in the other direction to Buchanan St Bus Station or Glasgow Queen Street station. Buchanan St Subway station and shopping centre was a 5 minute walk and there are plenty of restaurants, theatres and and a large Cineworld just round the corner.
All the staff we encountered were very friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. They were happy to store our luggage on our checkout day free of charge which was useful.

I absolutely loved this hotel. I was travelling with my daughter (8 years old), so wanted a hotel near the bus station and near the activities we had planned. I couldn’t believe my luck when I found such a budget friendly and beautifully modern hotel. The photos didn’t do the hotel and rooms justice. My daughter especially loved the led mood lighting in the rooms, the power shower and getting to watch YouTube on the smart tv. The room and bathroom were really clean and modern, with comfortable beds, and useful fold down tables and shelves that really made use of the space. The staff really made the place feel welcoming, the reception staff were really friendly and informative when checking in and when going down for free hot drinks. The breakfast was really great value for us since we paid for it with our booking, the man working the brekkie buffet was super friendly and helpful and so willing to go the extra mile for all the guests at breakfast, his steps for the day must be super high with all the running about he does and never once did his friendly demeanour falter whilst doing so. He even remembered us from the day before when he guessed our room number which felt really personal and cracked jokes with my daughter about the day before when she made a spill on the table, and when I offered to clean it up he said he would do it and to just worry about my daughter and our things. I wish I’d got his name and the reception staff name to really thank them for their work.
We only had a slight issue with the tv, we couldn’t use our fire stick and the tv only had freeview, catch up and pay to rent movies and I couldn’t get the app to find the tv which it said to download to stream from a phone. When it said smart tv I assumed Netflix or Disney plus or a plug in for my fire stick. But it wasn’t too much of an issue since we were out most of the time and just watched YouTube when in the hotel room. Wouldn’t take any ‘points’ off the review for it as it didn’t negatively effect our experience, more just a heads up for future travellers.

The location is great. The rooms are well-thought-out (except for no kettle) and the bathroom has a shower that you can easily use without being a plumbing engineer. But when someone closes their door, you can really hear it. The breakfast is nice but over-priced for what's there. The hallways are dark, gloomy, and depressing. But the staff is very friendly and nice.
