I happened to spend a night in this hotel since I couldn't find anything affordable in Edinburgh due to the New Year's Eve celebrations. It was a real nightmare: smelly hall, dump walls in the room, a big spider on the ceiling, dirty everywhere. Horrible and quite expensive place. Please don't ever go there.

hi sorry you could only afford our hotel and not edinburgh. I know you wasnt happy with the prices of taxis to the airport and didnt want to stay with us . The other hotel guests with children was shocked and complained about yourself coming down into the lounge bar asking about tap water in the state of undress.

We went for Christmas dinner and the service from staff was very good the table layout was excellent with crackers, hats , party poppers and a gift for the children the menu had a good selection and the food was delicious with tea and coffee and mince pies to finish we will certainly be back.

We have been for a meal three times and it was always fantastic. I especially recommend the high tea - it was amazing! The prices are exceptionally good value and the service is very good. Food is absolutely delicious and there is a fantastic variety.

We went for a high tea.The food was really good. The food arrived quite promptly. My only dislike was the interior of the place. It is very dated and needs upgraded. Also there is far too much clutter in the restaurant on the windowsills etc which makes the place look untidy and cluttered. Also i think with all the clutter...

Called in for a nice lunch we thought. Not having been before we decided to call in as we were passing. Never again!!!! The food was awful the place was dirty the dead flowers on the table were sitting in smelly green water. G Ramsey would have a hay day in that place. Not a nice experience and will not...

We stopped off for a drink while walking about the picturesque village of Dysart as we noticed that the hotel had been given a fresh coat of paint outside. Venturing in we saw that the inside had been remodelled also and looked quite nice. I ordered a pint of Belhaven and found it tasted bad so mentioned it to the...

We had high tea in the function room at the rear of the hotel. The food was not cordon bleu but tasty enough (risotto was not risotto - some other kind of rice in a watery cream sauce with frozen veg) and kids go free with every paying adult, so you can't complain. Prices were also very reasonable, it's a...

I was somewhat surprised to read two recent (not dated so I don't know how "recent") bad reviews of this hotel. Conditions have obviously improved substantially by the time of my visit and I did not recognise any of the faults mentioned in these reviews. My room was warm, clean and well provisioned and I experienced no problems during my...

We had our wedding here at the begging of September. The day was fantastic and could not have went better. The staff were on top form and helped us with anything we needed. We stayed overnight that night and the room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was so comfy! We enjoyed breakfast in the morning before checking out. We...
