Charming, creaky old property with really pleasant staff. The rooms are a lot more modern though and are really big with great bathrooms. Made use of the onsite Nuffield gym with swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Would definitely stay again. Restaurant, while ok, was a little lax in the service.

Husband and I booked the .Balgeddie for 2 nights to celebrate our birthdays and ended up being upgraded. What a lovely lovely surprise, never had a room as nice as that, it was very much appreciated. The staff are really nice and the young lady who cleaned our room was very helpful when we asked about places to visit.

2 nights in room 240. Lovely garden room but no internal connection to the main hotel meeting you have to walk outside to get to the bar and restaurant. Food average and served rushed. 3 coursed done in 30 minutes! Never used the fitness suit but it looked good. Only problem was the noisy kitchen which is very intrusive in...

This is our 2nd time at this hotel and we just love it. Beautiful rooms and gardens, lovely friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, it's just wonderful. Definitely recommend and definitely be back. Food in restaurant is great and breakfast cooked to order

Stayed one night on 12 Jan. Freezing outside but everywhere inside was lovely and warm. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The room was a substantial size and the bathroom had a large double ended bath with taps in the middle. Lovely touch for a bit of romance. Showered in the morning and, wow, it's been a long time since...

I have visited the restaurant occasionally over the years. It's a lovely building but the food is usually average at best. When I was in last month the service was particularly poor. We were a group of 6 booked for 7pm. After our main courses were served, the staff seemed to be busy elsewhere and no one was around to...

I stayed for 2 nights and only wish it could have been longer. The staff were amazing, polite and so attentive. My husband organised the break for us and I would go back tomorrow if it wasn't a 7 hour drive haha. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. The views are to die for and the hotel...

My family and I spent 2 nights here for New Years and as experienced on previous stays here on business the hotel always lived upto expectations. High quality rooms and dining, and good facilities within the hotel! Will return again soon!

Food Really lovely. Service was not great. Attention to detail not good. Starter - nobody asked if we needed anything. One our table we only had vinegar - no sauces or mayonnaise. I had potato skins - only one skin on plate. When main course arrived staff did not bring new cutlery - had to ask!! They did not check...

Stayed two nights for a Company meeting. Very pleasant staff in reception, everything ready for me when I arrived. Room was a mix of old and new, quite large, a bit worn but everything was in good working order. Lots of power outlets which can be a problem even for very modern hotels. Good WiFi. Our group had dinner in...
